1 A nd Hannah prayed, and said: My heart exulteth in Jehovah; My horn is exalted in Jehovah; My mouth is enlarged over mine enemies; Because I rejoice in thy salvation.

哈 拿 禱 告 說 ： 我 的 心 因 耶 和 華 快 樂 ； 我 的 角 因 耶 和 華 高 舉 。 我 的 口 向 仇 敵 張 開 ； 我 因 耶 和 華 的 救 恩 歡 欣 。

2 T here is none holy as Jehovah; For there is none besides thee, Neither is there any rock like our God.

只 有 耶 和 華 為 聖 ； 除 他 以 外 沒 有 可 比 的 ， 也 沒 有 磐 石 像 我 們 的 神 。

3 T alk no more so exceeding proudly; Let not arrogancy come out of your mouth; For Jehovah is a God of knowledge, And by him actions are weighed.

人 不 要 誇 口 說 驕 傲 的 話 ， 也 不 要 出 狂 妄 的 言 語 ； 因 耶 和 華 是 大 有 智 識 的 神 ， 人 的 行 為 被 他 衡 量 。

4 T he bows of the mighty men are broken; And they that stumbled are girded with strength.

勇 士 的 弓 都 已 折 斷 ； 跌 倒 的 人 以 力 量 束 腰 。

5 T hey that were full have hired out themselves for bread; And they that were hungry have ceased to hunger: Yea, the barren hath borne seven; And she that hath many children languisheth.

素 來 飽 足 的 ， 反 作 用 人 求 食 ； 飢 餓 的 ， 再 不 飢 餓 。 不 生 育 的 ， 生 了 七 個 兒 子 ； 多 有 兒 女 的 ， 反 倒 衰 微 。

6 J ehovah killeth, and maketh alive: He bringeth down to Sheol, and bringeth up.

耶 和 華 使 人 死 ， 也 使 人 活 ， 使 人 下 陰 間 ， 也 使 人 往 上 升 。

7 J ehovah maketh poor, and maketh rich: He bringeth low, he also lifteth up.

他 使 人 貧 窮 ， 也 使 人 富 足 ， 使 人 卑 微 ， 也 使 人 高 貴 。

8 H e raiseth up the poor out of the dust, He lifteth up the needy from the dunghill, To make them sit with princes, And inherit the throne of glory: For the pillars of the earth are Jehovah's, And he hath set the world upon them.

他 從 灰 塵 裡 抬 舉 貧 寒 人 ， 從 糞 堆 中 提 拔 窮 乏 人 ， 使 他 們 與 王 子 同 坐 ， 得 著 榮 耀 的 座 位 。 地 的 柱 子 屬 於 耶 和 華 ； 他 將 世 界 立 在 其 上 。

9 H e will keep the feet of his holy ones; But the wicked shall be put to silence in darkness; For by strength shall no man prevail.

他 必 保 護 聖 民 的 腳 步 ， 使 惡 人 在 黑 暗 中 寂 然 不 動 ； 人 都 不 能 靠 力 量 得 勝 。

10 T hey that strive with Jehovah shall be broken to pieces; Against them will he thunder in heaven: Jehovah will judge the ends of the earth; And he will give strength unto his king, And exalt the horn of his anointed.

與 耶 和 華 爭 競 的 ， 必 被 打 碎 ； 耶 和 華 必 從 天 上 以 雷 攻 擊 他 ， 必 審 判 地 極 的 人 ， 將 力 量 賜 與 所 立 的 王 ， 高 舉 受 膏 者 的 角 。

11 A nd Elkanah went to Ramah to his house. And the child did minister unto Jehovah before Eli the priest.

以 利 加 拿 往 拉 瑪 回 家 去 了 。 那 孩 子 在 祭 司 以 利 面 前 事 奉 耶 和 華 。

12 N ow the sons of Eli were base men; they knew not Jehovah.

以 利 的 兩 個 兒 子 是 惡 人 ， 不 認 識 耶 和 華 。

13 A nd the custom of the priests with the people was, that, when any man offered sacrifice, the priest's servant came, while the flesh was boiling, with a flesh-hook of three teeth in his hand;

這 二 祭 司 待 百 姓 是 這 樣 的 規 矩 ： 凡 有 人 獻 祭 ， 正 煮 肉 的 時 候 ， 祭 司 的 僕 人 就 來 ， 手 拿 三 齒 的 叉 子 ，

14 a nd he struck it into the pan, or kettle, or caldron, or pot; all that the flesh-hook brought up the priest took therewith. So they did in Shiloh unto all the Israelites that came thither.

將 叉 子 往 罐 裡 ， 或 鼎 裡 ， 或 釜 裡 ， 或 鍋 裡 一 插 ， 插 上 來 的 肉 ， 祭 司 都 取 了 去 。 凡 上 到 示 羅 的 以 色 列 人 ， 他 們 都 是 這 樣 看 待 。

15 Y ea, before they burnt the fat, the priest's servant came, and said to the man that sacrificed, Give flesh to roast for the priest; for he will not have boiled flesh of thee, but raw.

又 在 未 燒 脂 油 以 前 ， 祭 司 的 僕 人 就 來 對 獻 祭 的 人 說 ： 將 肉 給 祭 司 ， 叫 他 烤 罷 。 他 不 要 煮 過 的 ， 要 生 的 。

16 A nd if the man said unto him, They will surely burn the fat first, and then take as much as thy soul desireth; then he would say, Nay, but thou shalt give it me now: and if not, I will take it by force.

獻 祭 的 人 若 說 ： 必 須 先 燒 脂 油 ， 然 後 你 可 以 隨 意 取 肉 。 僕 人 就 說 ： 你 立 時 給 我 ， 不 然 我 便 搶 去 。

17 A nd the sin of the young men was very great before Jehovah; for the men despised the offering of Jehovah.

如 此 ， 這 二 少 年 人 的 罪 在 耶 和 華 面 前 甚 重 了 ， 因 為 他 們 藐 視 耶 和 華 的 祭 物 （ 或 譯 ： 他 們 使 人 厭 棄 給 耶 和 華 獻 祭 ） 。

18 B ut Samuel ministered before Jehovah, being a child, girded with a linen ephod.

那 時 ， 撒 母 耳 還 是 孩 子 ， 穿 著 細 麻 布 的 以 弗 得 ， 侍 立 在 耶 和 華 面 前 。

19 M oreover his mother made him a little robe, and brought it to him from year to year, when she came up with her husband to offer the yearly sacrifice.

他 母 親 每 年 為 他 做 一 件 小 外 袍 ， 同 著 丈 夫 上 來 獻 年 祭 的 時 候 帶 來 給 他 。

20 A nd Eli blessed Elkanah and his wife, and said, Jehovah give thee seed of this woman for the petition which was asked of Jehovah. And they went unto their own home.

以 利 為 以 利 加 拿 和 他 的 妻 祝 福 ， 說 ： 願 耶 和 華 由 這 婦 人 再 賜 你 後 裔 ， 代 替 你 從 耶 和 華 求 來 的 孩 子 。 他 們 就 回 本 鄉 去 了 。

21 A nd Jehovah visited Hannah, and she conceived, and bare three sons and two daughters. And the child Samuel grew before Jehovah.

耶 和 華 眷 顧 哈 拿 ， 他 就 懷 孕 生 了 三 個 兒 子 ， 兩 個 女 兒 。 那 孩 子 撒 母 耳 在 耶 和 華 面 前 漸 漸 長 大 。

22 N ow Eli was very old; and he heard all that his sons did unto all Israel, and how that they lay with the women that did service at the door of the tent of meeting.

以 利 年 甚 老 邁 ， 聽 見 他 兩 個 兒 子 待 以 色 列 眾 人 的 事 ， 又 聽 見 他 們 與 會 幕 門 前 伺 候 的 婦 人 苟 合 ，

23 A nd he said unto them, Why do ye such things? for I hear of your evil dealings from all this people.

他 就 對 他 們 說 ： 你 們 為 何 行 這 樣 的 事 呢 ？ 我 從 這 眾 百 姓 聽 見 你 們 的 惡 行 。

24 N ay, my sons; for it is no good report that I hear: ye make Jehovah's people to transgress.

我 兒 啊 ， 不 可 這 樣 ！ 我 聽 見 你 們 的 風 聲 不 好 ， 你 們 使 耶 和 華 的 百 姓 犯 了 罪 。

25 I f one man sin against another, God shall judge him; but if a man sin against Jehovah, who shall entreat for him? Notwithstanding, they hearkened not unto the voice of their father, because Jehovah was minded to slay them.

人 若 得 罪 人 ， 有 士 師 審 判 他 ； 人 若 得 罪 耶 和 華 ， 誰 能 為 他 祈 求 呢 ？ 然 而 他 們 還 是 不 聽 父 親 的 話 ， 因 為 耶 和 華 想 要 殺 他 們 。

26 A nd the child Samuel grew on, and increased in favor both with Jehovah, and also with men.

孩 子 撒 母 耳 漸 漸 長 大 ， 耶 和 華 與 人 越 發 喜 愛 他 。

27 A nd there came a man of God unto Eli, and said unto him, Thus saith Jehovah, Did I reveal myself unto the house of thy father, when they were in Egypt in bondage to Pharaoh's house?

有 神 人 來 見 以 利 ， 對 他 說 ： 耶 和 華 如 此 說 ： 你 祖 父 在 埃 及 法 老 家 作 奴 僕 的 時 候 ， 我 不 是 向 他 們 顯 現 麼 ？

28 a nd did I choose him out of all the tribes of Israel to be my priest, to go up unto mine altar, to burn incense, to wear an ephod before me? and did I give unto the house of thy father all the offerings of the children of Israel made by fire?

在 以 色 列 眾 支 派 中 ， 我 不 是 揀 選 人 作 我 的 祭 司 ， 使 他 燒 香 ， 在 我 壇 上 獻 祭 ， 在 我 面 前 穿 以 弗 得 ， 又 將 以 色 列 人 所 獻 的 火 祭 都 賜 給 你 父 家 麼 ？

29 W herefore kick ye at my sacrifice and at mine offering, which I have commanded in my habitation, and honorest thy sons above me, to make yourselves fat with the chiefest of all the offerings of Israel my people?

我 所 吩 咐 獻 在 我 居 所 的 祭 物 ， 你 們 為 何 踐 踏 ？ 尊 重 你 的 兒 子 過 於 尊 重 我 ， 將 我 民 以 色 列 所 獻 美 好 的 祭 物 肥 己 呢 ？

30 T herefore Jehovah, the God of Israel, saith, I said indeed that thy house, and the house of thy father, should walk before me for ever: but now Jehovah saith, Be it far from me; for them that honor me I will honor, and they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed.

因 此 ， 耶 和 華 ─ 以 色 列 的 神 說 ： 我 曾 說 ， 你 和 你 父 家 必 永 遠 行 在 我 面 前 ； 現 在 我 卻 說 ， 決 不 容 你 們 這 樣 行 。 因 為 尊 重 我 的 ， 我 必 重 看 他 ； 藐 視 我 的 ， 他 必 被 輕 視 。

31 B ehold, the days come, that I will cut off thine arm, and the arm of thy father's house, that there shall not be an old man in thy house.

日 子 必 到 ， 我 要 折 斷 你 的 膀 臂 和 你 父 家 的 膀 臂 ， 使 你 家 中 沒 有 一 個 老 年 人 。

32 A nd thou shalt behold the affliction of my habitation, in all the wealth which God shall give Israel; and there shall not be an old man in thy house for ever.

在 神 使 以 色 列 人 享 福 的 時 候 ， 你 必 看 見 我 居 所 的 敗 落 。 在 你 家 中 必 永 遠 沒 有 一 個 老 年 人 。

33 A nd the man of thine, whom I shall not cut off from mine altar, shall be to consume thine eyes, and to grieve thy heart; and all the increase of thy house shall die in the flower of their age.

我 必 不 從 我 壇 前 滅 盡 你 家 中 的 人 ； 那 未 滅 的 必 使 你 眼 目 乾 癟 、 心 中 憂 傷 。 你 家 中 所 生 的 人 都 必 死 在 中 年 。

34 A nd this shall be the sign unto thee, that shall come upon thy two sons, on Hophni and Phinehas: in one day they shall die both of them.

你 的 兩 個 兒 子 何 弗 尼 、 非 尼 哈 所 遭 遇 的 事 可 作 你 的 證 據 ： 他 們 二 人 必 一 日 同 死 。

35 A nd I will raise me up a faithful priest, that shall do according to that which is in my heart and in my mind: and I will build him a sure house; and he shall walk before mine anointed for ever.

我 要 為 自 己 立 一 個 忠 心 的 祭 司 ； 他 必 照 我 的 心 意 而 行 。 我 要 為 他 建 立 堅 固 的 家 ； 他 必 永 遠 行 在 我 的 受 膏 者 面 前 。

36 A nd it shall come to pass, that every one that is left in thy house shall come and bow down to him for a piece of silver and a loaf of bread, and shall say, Put me, I pray thee, into one of the priests' offices, that I may eat a morsel of bread.

你 家 所 剩 下 的 人 都 必 來 叩 拜 他 ， 求 塊 銀 子 ， 求 個 餅 ， 說 ： 求 你 賜 我 祭 司 的 職 分 ， 好 叫 我 得 點 餅 吃 。
