1 Not unto us, O LORD, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory, for thy mercy and for thy truth.

2 W hy should the Gentiles say, Where is now their God?

Kia mea koia nga tauiwi: Kei hea ianei to ratou Atua?

3 B ut our God is in the heavens; he has made whatever he has desired.

Kei te rangi ia to matou Atua; kua meatia e ia nga mea katoa i pai ai ia.

4 T heir idols are silver and gold, the work of men’s hands.

He hiriwa a ratou whakapakoko, he koura, he mahi na te ringa tangata.

5 T hey have mouths, but they shall never speak; they have eyes, but they shall never see:

He mangai o ratou, a kahore e korero: he kanohi o ratou, a kahore e kite:

6 T hey have ears, but they shall never hear; they have noses, but they shall never smell;

He taringa o ratou, a kahore e rongo: he ihu o ratou, a kahore e hongi:

7 t hey have hands, but they shall never touch; they have feet, but they shall never walk; they shall never speak through their throat.

He ringa o ratou, a kahore e whawha: he waewae o ratou, a kahore e haere: kahore hoki o ratou korokoro e korero.

8 L et those that make them become like unto them, and every one that trusts in them.

9 O Israel, trust thou in the LORD; he is your help and your shield.

E Iharaira, whakawhirinaki ki a Ihowa: ko ia to ratou awhina, to ratou whakangungu rakau.

10 O house of Aaron, trust in the LORD; he is your help and your shield.

11 Y e that fear the LORD, trust in the LORD; he is your help and your shield.

E te hunga e wehi ana i a Ihowa, whakawhirinaki ki a Ihowa: ko ia to ratou awhina, to ratou whakangungu rakau.

12 T he LORD has been mindful of us: he will bless us; he will greatly bless the house of Israel; he will bless the house of Aaron.

13 H e will bless those that fear the LORD, both small and great.

14 T he LORD shall increase his blessing upon you more and more, upon you and your sons.

Ka tapiritia ano e Ihowa ki a koutou, ki a koutou tahi ko a koutou tamariki.

15 Y e are blessed of the LORD who made the heavens and earth.

16 T he heavens are the heavens of the LORD, but the earth he has given to the sons of Adam.

Ko nga rangi, he rangi no Ihowa; ko te whenua ia, he mea homai nana ki nga tama a te tangata.

17 T he dead shall not praise JAH, neither any that go down into silence.

18 B ut we will bless JAH from this time forth and for evermore. Halelu-JAH.

Ko matou ia ka whakapai ki a Ihowa aianei a ake ake. Whakamoemititia a Ihowa.
