1 I n You, O Lord, do I put my trust and confidently take refuge; let me never be put to shame or confusion!
Ko koe taku e whakawhirinaki ai, e Ihowa: kei whakama ahau ake ake.
2 D eliver me in Your righteousness and cause me to escape; bow down Your ear to me and save me!
Whakaorangia ahau, i runga i tou tika, kia mawhiti ano ahau: tahuri mai tou taringa ki ahau, whakaorangia hoki ahau.
3 B e to me a rock of refuge in which to dwell, and a sheltering stronghold to which I may continually resort, which You have appointed to save me, for You are my Rock and my Fortress.
4 R escue me, O my God, out of the hand of the wicked, out of the grasp of the unrighteous and ruthless man.
Whakaorangia ahau, e toku Atua, i te ringa o te tangata kino, i te ringa o te whanoke, o te nanakia.
5 F or You are my hope; O Lord God, You are my trust from my youth and the source of my confidence.
Ko koe nei hoki, e te Ariki, e Ihowa, taku e tumanako atu nei, taku e whakawhirinaki nei no toku tamarikitanga ake ano.
6 U pon You have I leaned and relied from birth; You are He Who took me from my mother’s womb and You have been my benefactor from that day. My praise is continually of You.
Nau ahau i tautoko ake no te kopu mai ano; nau ahau i tango mai i roto i nga whekau o toku whaea; ko koe taku e whakamoemiti tonu ai.
7 I am as a wonder and surprise to many, but You are my strong refuge.
He miharotanga ahau na te tini; ko koe ia toku piringa kaha.
8 M y mouth shall be filled with Your praise and with Your honor all the day.
9 C ast me not off nor send me away in the time of old age; forsake me not when my strength is spent and my powers fail.
Kaua ahau e panga a te wa o te koroheketanga, kaua ahau e whakarerea ina hemo toku kaha.
10 F or my enemies talk against me; those who watch for my life consult together,
E korerotia ana hoki ahau e oku hoariri, a e runanga tahi ana te hunga e whanga ana ki toku wairua.
11 S aying, God has forsaken him; pursue and persecute and take him, for there is none to deliver him.
E mea ana, Kua whakarerea ia e te Atua: whaia, hopukia; kahore hoki tetahi hei whakaora.
12 O God, be not far from me! O my God, make haste to help me!
13 L et them be put to shame and consumed who are adversaries to my life; let them be covered with reproach, scorn, and dishonor who seek and require my hurt.
14 B ut I will hope continually, and will praise You yet more and more.
15 M y mouth shall tell of Your righteous acts and of Your deeds of salvation all the day, for their number is more than I know.
Ma toku mangai e whakakite tou tika, tau whakaoranga i te roa o te ra; kahore hoki ahau e mohio e hia ranei.
16 I will come in the strength and with the mighty acts of the Lord God; I will mention and praise Your righteousness, even Yours alone.
Ka haere ahau i runga i te kaha o te Ariki, o Ihowa, ka whakahuatia e ahau tou tika, tou anake.
17 O God, You have taught me from my youth, and hitherto have I declared Your wondrous works.
E te Atua, he mea whakaako ahau nau, no toku tamarikitanga ake; a he whakapuaki taku i au mahi whakamiharo a mohoa noa nei.
18 Y es, even when I am old and gray-headed, O God, forsake me not, until I have declared Your mighty strength to generation, and Your might and power to all that are to come.
Na kaua ahau e whakarerea, e te Atua, a koroheke noa, hina noa ahau, kia whakakitea ra ano e ahau tou kaha ki tenei whakatupuranga, tou nui ki nga tangata katoa e puta mai a mua.
19 Y our righteousness also, O God, is very high, You Who have done great things; O God, who is like You, or who is Your equal?
Kei runga rawa ano tou tika, e te Atua, he nui nei hoki au mahi: e te Atua, ko wai te rite ki a koe?
20 Y ou Who have shown us troubles great and sore will quicken us again and will bring us up again from the depths of the earth.
He nui, he kino nga pouritanga ngakau i whakakitea mai e koe ki a matou; tera ano koe ka whakahauora i a matou, ka whakahoki ake ano i a matou i nga wahi hohonu o te whenua.
21 I ncrease my greatness (my honor) and turn and comfort me.
Whakaraneatia e koe toku nui, a tahuri mai ano ka whakamarie i ahau.
22 I will also praise You with the harp, even Your truth and faithfulness, O my God; unto You will I sing praises with the lyre, O Holy One of Israel.
23 M y lips shall shout for joy when I sing praises to You, and my inner being, which You have redeemed.
Ka tino hari oku ngutu ua himene ahau ki a koe: me toku wairua ano i hokona nei e koe.
24 M y tongue also shall talk of Your righteousness all the day long; for they are put to shame, for they are confounded, who seek and demand my hurt.
Ka korerotia hoki e toku arero tou tika i te roa o te ra: kua whakama nei hoki, kua numinumi kau te hunga i rapu i te he moku.
