1 S end ye the lamb to the ruler of the land from Sela to the wilderness, unto the mount of the daughter of Zion.

Посылайте агнцев владетелю земли из Селы в пустыне на гору дочери Сиона;

2 F or it shall be, that, as a wandering bird cast out of the nest, so the daughters of Moab shall be at the fords of Arnon.

ибо блуждающей птице, выброшенной из гнезда, будут подобны дочери Моава у бродов Арнонских.

3 T ake counsel, execute judgment; make thy shadow as the night in the midst of the noonday; hide the outcasts; bewray not him that wandereth.

'Составь совет, постанови решение; осени нас среди полудня, как ночью, тенью твоею, укрой изгнанных, не выдай скитающихся.

4 L et mine outcasts dwell with thee, Moab; be thou a covert to them from the face of the spoiler: for the extortioner is at an end, the spoiler ceaseth, the oppressors are consumed out of the land.

Пусть поживут у тебя мои изгнанные Моавитяне; будь им покровом от грабителя: ибо притеснителя не станет, грабеж прекратится, попирающие исчезнут с земли.

5 A nd in mercy shall the throne be established: and he shall sit upon it in truth in the tabernacle of David, judging, and seeking judgment, and hasting righteousness.

И утвердится престол милостью, и воссядет на нем в истине, в шатре Давидовом, судия, ищущий правды и стремящийся к правосудию'.

6 W e have heard of the pride of Moab; he is very proud: even of his haughtiness, and his pride, and his wrath: but his lies shall not be so.

'Слыхали мы о гордости Моава, гордости чрезмерной, о надменности его и высокомерии и неистовстве его: неискренна речь его'.

7 T herefore shall Moab howl for Moab, every one shall howl: for the foundations of Kir-hareseth shall ye mourn; surely they are stricken.

Поэтому возрыдает Моав о Моаве, --все будут рыдать; стенайте о твердынях Кирхарешета: они совершенно разрушены.

8 F or the fields of Heshbon languish, and the vine of Sibmah: the lords of the heathen have broken down the principal plants thereof, they are come even unto Jazer, they wandered through the wilderness: her branches are stretched out, they are gone over the sea.

Поля Есевонские оскудели, также и виноградник Севамский; властители народов истребили лучшие лозы его, которые достигали до Иазера, расстилались по пустыне; побеги их расширялись, переходили за море.

9 T herefore I will bewail with the weeping of Jazer the vine of Sibmah: I will water thee with my tears, O Heshbon, and Elealeh: for the shouting for thy summer fruits and for thy harvest is fallen.

Посему я буду плакать о лозе Севамской плачем Иазера, буду обливать тебя слезами моими, Есевон и Елеала; ибо во время собирания винограда твоего и во время жатвы твоей нет более шумной радости.

10 A nd gladness is taken away, and joy out of the plentiful field; and in the vineyards there shall be no singing, neither shall there be shouting: the treaders shall tread out no wine in their presses; I have made their vintage shouting to cease.

Исчезло с плодоносной земли веселье и ликование, и в виноградниках не поют, не ликуют; виноградарь не топчет винограда в точилах: Я прекратил ликование.

11 W herefore my bowels shall sound like an harp for Moab, and mine inward parts for Kir-haresh.

Оттого внутренность моя стонет о Моаве, как гусли, и сердце мое--о Кирхарешете.

12 A nd it shall come to pass, when it is seen that Moab is weary on the high place, that he shall come to his sanctuary to pray; but he shall not prevail.

Хотя и явится Моав, и будет до утомления на высотах, и придет к святилищу своему помолиться, но ничто не поможет.

13 T his is the word that the Lord hath spoken concerning Moab since that time.

Вот слово, которое изрек Господь о Моаве издавна.

14 B ut now the Lord hath spoken, saying, Within three years, as the years of an hireling, and the glory of Moab shall be contemned, with all that great multitude; and the remnant shall be very small and feeble.

Ныне же так говорит Господь: чрез три года, считая годами наемничьими, величие Моава будет унижено со всем великим многолюдством, и остаток очень малый и незначительный.
