1 A nd Job answered and said,

Atëherë Jobi u përgjigj dhe tha:

2 N o doubt but ye are the people, and wisdom shall die with you.

"Pa dyshim ju jeni njerëz të urtë, dhe dituria do të marrë fund me ju.

3 B ut I have understanding as well as you; I am not inferior to you: yea, who knoweth not such things as these?

Edhe unë kam mendje si ju, dhe nuk bie më poshtë se ju; përveç kësaj, kush nuk i di gjërat si këto?

4 I am as one mocked of his neighbour, who calleth upon God, and he answereth him: the just upright man is laughed to scorn.

Jam bërë gazi i miqve të mi; unë, të cilit Perëndia i përgjigjej kur i drejtohesha; të drejtin, të ndershmin, e kanë vënë në lojë.

5 H e that is ready to slip with his feet is as a lamp despised in the thought of him that is at ease.

Një llambë, e përçmuar në mendimet e atyre që jetojnë në mes të të mirave, është përgatitur për ata të cilëve u merren këmbët.

6 T he tabernacles of robbers prosper, and they that provoke God are secure; into whose hand God bringeth abundantly.

Çadrat e cubave përkundrazi janë të qeta dhe e ndjejnë veten të sigurt ata që provokojnë Perëndinë dhe që e hyjnizojnë forcën e tyre.

7 B ut ask now the beasts, and they shall teach thee; and the fowls of the air, and they shall tell thee:

Por pyeti tani kafshët dhe do të të mësojnë, zogjtë e qiellit dhe do të ta thonë,

8 o r speak to the earth, and it shall teach thee: and the fishes of the sea shall declare unto thee.

ose foli tokës, dhe ajo do të të mësojë, dhe peshqit e detit do të ta tregojnë.

9 W ho knoweth not in all these that the hand of the Lord hath wrought this?

Midis tërë këtyre krijesave, cila nuk e di që dora e Zotit i ka bërë këto?

10 I n whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind.

Ai ka në dorë të tij jetën e çdo gjallese dhe frymën e çdo qenieje njerëzore.

11 D oth not the ear try words? and the mouth taste his meat?

Veshi a nuk i shqyrton vallë fjalët, ashtu si i shijon qiellza ushqimet?

12 W ith the ancient is wisdom; and in length of days understanding.

Ndër pleqtë gjejmë diturinë, dhe gjatësia e ditëve u jep edhe gjykimin.

13 W ith him is wisdom and strength, he hath counsel and understanding.

Por tek ai gjejmë diturinë dhe forcën, atij i përkasin mendja dhe gjykimi.

14 B ehold, he breaketh down, and it cannot be built again: he shutteth up a man, and there can be no opening.

Në rast se ai shkatërron, askush nuk mund të rindërtojë; në rast se fut në burg dikë, askush nuk mund t’ia hapë.

15 B ehold, he withholdeth the waters, and they dry up: also he sendeth them out, and they overturn the earth.

Në rast se i ndal ujërat, çdo gjë thahet; po t’i lërë të lira, përmbytin tokën.

16 W ith him is strength and wisdom: the deceived and the deceiver are his.

Ai zotëron forcën dhe diturinë; prej tij varen ai që mashtrohet dhe ai që mashtron.

17 H e leadeth counsellors away spoiled, and maketh the judges fools.

Ai i bën këshilltarët të ecin zbathur, i bën gjyqtarët të pamend.

18 H e looseth the bond of kings, and girdeth their loins with a girdle.

Këput verigat e imponuara nga mbretërit dhe lidh me zinxhirë ijet e tyre.

19 H e leadeth princes away spoiled, and overthroweth the mighty.

I bën që të ecin zbathur priftërinjtë dhe përmbys të fuqishmit.

20 H e removeth away the speech of the trusty, and taketh away the understanding of the aged.

I lë pa gojë ata tek të cilët ka besim dhe i lë pa mend pleqtë.

21 H e poureth contempt upon princes, and weakeneth the strength of the mighty.

Zbraz përçmimin mbi fisnikët dhe ua liron brezin të fortëve.

22 H e discovereth deep things out of darkness, and bringeth out to light the shadow of death.

Zbulon gjërat e thella të fshehura në terr dhe sjell në dritë hijen e vdekjes.

23 H e increaseth the nations, and destroyeth them: he enlargeth the nations, and straiteneth them again.

I bën të mëdha kombet dhe pastaj i shkatërron, i zgjeron kombet dhe pastaj i mërgon.

24 H e taketh away the heart of the chief of the people of the earth, and causeth them to wander in a wilderness where there is no way.

U heq arsyen sundimtarëve të tokës dhe i bën të enden në vende të shkreta pa rrugë.

25 T hey grope in the dark without light, and he maketh them to stagger like a drunken man.

Ecin verbërisht në terr pa dritë dhe i bën të ecin si të dehur".
