1 M eu Deus! Meu Deus! Por que me abandonaste? Por que estás tão longe de salvar-me, tão longe dos meus gritos de angústia?

My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring?

2 M eu Deus! Eu clamo de dia, mas não respondes; de noite, e não recebo alívio!

O my God, I cry in the day time, but thou hearest not; and in the night season, and am not silent.

3 T u, porém, és o Santo, és rei, és o louvor de Israel.

But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.

4 E m ti os nossos antepassados puseram a sua confiança; confiaram, e os livraste.

Our fathers trusted in thee: they trusted, and thou didst deliver them.

5 C lamaram a ti, e foram libertos; em ti confiaram, e não se decepcionaram.

They cried unto thee, and were delivered: they trusted in thee, and were not confounded.

6 M as eu sou verme, e não homem, motivo de zombaria e objeto de desprezo do povo.

But I am a worm, and no man; a reproach of men, and despised of the people.

7 C açoam de mim todos os que me vêem; balançando a cabeça, lançam insultos contra mim, dizendo:

All they that see me laugh me to scorn: they shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying,

8 “ Recorra ao Senhor! Que o Senhor o liberte! Que ele o livre, já que lhe quer bem!”

He trusted on the Lord that he would deliver him: let him deliver him, seeing he delighted in him.

9 C ontudo, tu mesmo me tiraste do ventre; deste-me segurança junto ao seio de minha mãe.

But thou art he that took me out of the womb: thou didst make me hope when I was upon my mother's breasts.

10 D esde que nasci fui entregue a ti; desde o ventre materno és o meu Deus.

I was cast upon thee from the womb: thou art my God from my mother's belly.

11 N ão fiques distante de mim, pois a angústia está perto e não há ninguém que me socorra.

Be not far from me; for trouble is near; for there is none to help.

12 M uitos touros me cercam, sim, rodeiam-me os poderosos de Basã.

Many bulls have compassed me: strong bulls of Bashan have beset me round.

13 C omo leão voraz rugindo, escancaram a boca contra mim.

They gaped upon me with their mouths, as a ravening and a roaring lion.

14 C omo água me derramei, e todos os meus ossos estão desconjuntados. Meu coração se tornou como cera; derreteu-se no meu íntimo.

I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint: my heart is like wax; it is melted in the midst of my bowels.

15 M eu vigor secou-se como um caco de barro, e a minha língua gruda no céu da boca; deixaste-me no pó, à beira da morte.

My strength is dried up like a potsherd; and my tongue cleaveth to my jaws; and thou hast brought me into the dust of death.

16 C ães me rodearam! Um bando de homens maus me cercou! Perfuraram minhas mãos e meus pés.

For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet.

17 P osso contar todos os meus ossos, mas eles me encaram com desprezo.

I may tell all my bones: they look and stare upon me.

18 D ividiram as minhas roupas entre si, e lançaram sortes pelas minhas vestes.

They part my garments among them, and cast lots upon my vesture.

19 T u, porém, Senhor, não fiques distante! Ó minha força, vem logo em meu socorro!

But be not thou far from me, O Lord: O my strength, haste thee to help me.

20 L ivra-me da espada, livra a minha vida do ataque dos cães.

Deliver my soul from the sword; my darling from the power of the dog.

21 S alva-me da boca dos leões, e dos chifres dos bois selvagens. E tu me respondeste.

Save me from the lion's mouth: for thou hast heard me from the horns of the unicorns.

22 P roclamarei o teu nome a meus irmãos; na assembléia te louvarei.

I will declare thy name unto my brethren: in the midst of the congregation will I praise thee.

23 L ouvem-no, vocês que temem o Senhor! Glorifiquem-no, todos vocês, descendentes de Jacó! Tremam diante dele, todos vocês, descendentes de Israel!

Ye that fear the Lord, praise him; all ye the seed of Jacob, glorify him; and fear him, all ye the seed of Israel.

24 P ois não menosprezou nem repudiou o sofrimento do aflito; não escondeu dele o rosto, mas ouviu o seu grito de socorro.

For he hath not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; neither hath he hid his face from him; but when he cried unto him, he heard.

25 D e ti vem o tema do meu louvor na grande assembléia; na presença dos que te temem cumprirei os meus votos.

My praise shall be of thee in the great congregation: I will pay my vows before them that fear him.

26 O s pobres comerão até ficarem satisfeitos; aqueles que buscam o Senhor o louvarão! Que vocês tenham vida longa!

The meek shall eat and be satisfied: they shall praise the Lord that seek him: your heart shall live for ever.

27 T odos os confins da terra se lembrarão e se voltarão para o Senhor, e todas as famílias das nações se prostrarão diante dele,

All the ends of the world shall remember and turn unto the Lord: and all the kindreds of the nations shall worship before thee.

28 p ois do Senhor é o reino; ele governa as nações.

For the kingdom is the Lord 's: and he is the governor among the nations.

29 T odos os ricos da terra se banquetearão e o adorarão; haverão de ajoelhar-se diante dele todos os que descem ao pó, cuja vida se esvai.

All they that be fat upon earth shall eat and worship: all they that go down to the dust shall bow before him: and none can keep alive his own soul.

30 A posteridade o servirá; gerações futuras ouvirão falar do Senhor,

A seed shall serve him; it shall be accounted to the Lord for a generation.

31 e a um povo que ainda não nasceu proclamarão seus feitos de justiça, pois ele agiu poderosamente.

They shall come, and shall declare his righteousness unto a people that shall be born, that he hath done this.
