1 O uve, Senhor, a minha justa queixa; atenta para o meu clamor. Dá ouvidos à minha oração, que não vem de lábios falsos.

Hear the right, O Lord, attend unto my cry, give ear unto my prayer, that goeth not out of feigned lips.

2 V enha de ti a sentença em meu favor; vejam os teus olhos onde está a justiça!

Let my sentence come forth from thy presence; let thine eyes behold the things that are equal.

3 P rovas o meu coração e de noite me examinas, tu me sondas, e nada encontras; decidi que a minha boca não pecará

Thou hast proved mine heart; thou hast visited me in the night; thou hast tried me, and shalt find nothing; I am purposed that my mouth shall not transgress.

4 c omo fazem os homens. Pela palavra dos teus lábios eu evitei os caminhos do violento.

Concerning the works of men, by the word of thy lips I have kept me from the paths of the destroyer.

5 M eus passos seguem firmes nas tuas veredas; os meus pés não escorregaram.

Hold up my goings in thy paths, that my footsteps slip not.

6 E u clamo a ti, ó Deus, pois tu me respondes; inclina para mim os teus ouvidos e ouve a minha oração.

I have called upon thee, for thou wilt hear me, O God: incline thine ear unto me, and hear my speech.

7 M ostra a maravilha do teu amor, tu, que com a tua mão direita salvas os que em ti buscam proteção contra aqueles que os ameaçam.

Shew thy marvellous lovingkindness, O thou that savest by thy right hand them which put their trust in thee from those that rise up against them.

8 P rotege-me como à menina dos teus olhos; esconde-me à sombra das tuas asas,

Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of thy wings,

9 d os ímpios que me atacam com violência, dos inimigos mortais que me cercam.

From the wicked that oppress me, from my deadly enemies, who compass me about.

10 E les fecham o coração insensível, e com a boca falam com arrogância.

They are inclosed in their own fat: with their mouth they speak proudly.

11 E les me seguem os passos, e já me cercam; seus olhos estão atentos, prontos para derrubar-me.

They have now compassed us in our steps: they have set their eyes bowing down to the earth;

12 S ão como um leão ávido pela presa, como um leão forte agachado na emboscada.

Like as a lion that is greedy of his prey, and as it were a young lion lurking in secret places.

13 L evanta-te, Senhor! Confronta-os! Derruba-os! Com a tua espada livra-me dos ímpios.

Arise, O Lord, disappoint him, cast him down: deliver my soul from the wicked, which is thy sword:

14 C om a tua mão, Senhor, livra-me de homens assim, de homens deste mundo, cuja recompensa está nesta vida. Enche-lhes o ventre de tudo o que lhes reservaste; sejam os seus filhos saciados, e o que sobrar fique para os seus pequeninos.

From men which are thy hand, O Lord, from men of the world, which have their portion in this life, and whose belly thou fillest with thy hid treasure: they are full of children, and leave the rest of their substance to their babes.

15 Q uanto a mim, feita a justiça, verei a tua face; quando despertar, ficarei satisfeito ao ver a tua semelhança.

As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness.
