1 “ Pois certamente vem o dia, ardente como uma fornalha. Todos os arrogantes e todos os malfeitores serão como palha, e aquele dia, que está chegando, ateará fogo neles”, diz o Senhor dos Exércitos. “Não sobrará raiz ou galho algum.

For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the Lord of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.

2 M as para vocês que reverenciam o meu nome, o sol da justiça se levantará trazendo cura em suas asas. E vocês sairão e saltarão como bezerros soltos do curral.

But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.

3 D epois esmagarão os ímpios, que serão como pó sob as solas dos seus pés, no dia em que eu agir”, diz o Senhor dos Exércitos.

And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the Lord of hosts.

4 “ Lembrem-se da Lei do meu servo Moisés, dos decretos e das ordenanças que lhe dei em Horebe para todo o povo de Israel.

Remember ye the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel, with the statutes and judgments.

5 “ Vejam, eu enviarei a vocês o profeta Elias antes do grande e temível dia do Senhor.

Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord:

6 E le fará com que os corações dos pais se voltem para seus filhos, e os corações dos filhos para seus pais; do contrário, eu virei e castigarei a terra com maldição.”

And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.
