1 T hen Moses gathered together all the people of Israel, saying, “These are the things that the Lord has told you to do.
Moses gathered all the congregation of the Israelites together and said to them, These are the things which the Lord has commanded that you do:
2 W ork may be done for six days. But the seventh day will be a holy day for you, a Day of Rest to the Lord. Whoever does any work on this day will be put to death.
Six days shall work be done, but the seventh day shall be to you a holy day, a Sabbath of rest to the Lord; whoever works shall be put to death.
3 D o not make a fire in any of your tents on the Day of Rest.” Gifts for the Meeting Tent
You shall kindle no fire in all your dwellings on the Sabbath day.
4 M oses said to all the people of Israel, “This is what the Lord has told you to do.
And Moses said to all the congregation of the Israelites, This is what the Lord commanded:
5 T ake from among you a gift to the Lord. Whoever has a willing heart, let him bring the Lord’s gift: gold, silver and brass,
Take from among you an offering to the Lord. Whoever is of a willing and generous heart, let him bring the Lord’s offering: gold, silver, and bronze;
6 a nd blue, purple and red cloth, fine linen, cloth made from goat hair,
Blue, purple, and scarlet, fine linen; goats’ hair;
7 r ams’ skins made red, badgers’ skins and acacia wood,
And rams’ skins tanned red, and skins of dolphins or porpoises; and acacia wood;
8 l amp oil, spices for the oil for holy use and for the sweet-smelling perfume,
And oil for the light; and spices for anointing oil and for fragrant incense;
9 o nyx stones and stones to be set for the linen vest and the breast-piece. Parts of the Meeting Tent
And onyx stones and other stones to be set for the ephod and the breastplate.
10 “ Let every able workman among you come and make all that the Lord has told us to make:
And let every able and wisehearted man among you come and make all that the Lord has commanded:
11 t he meeting tent, its tent and its covering, its hooks, its wood pieces, its cross-pieces, its pillars and their bases,
The tabernacle, its tent and its covering, its hooks, its boards, its bars, its pillars, and its sockets or bases;
12 t he special box of the agreement and the long pieces of wood for carrying it, the mercy-seat, the curtain to hang in front of it,
The ark and its poles, with the mercy seat, and the veil of the screen;
13 t he table and the long pieces of wood for carrying it, all its objects, and the holy bread to set before the Lord.
The table and its poles and all its utensils, and the showbread (the bread of the Presence);
14 A lso the able workmen are to make: the lamp-stand for the light, and its lamps and oil for the light,
The lampstand also for the light, and its utensils and its lamps, and the oil for the light;
15 t he altar of special perfume and the long pieces of wood for carrying it, the oil for holy use, the sweet-smelling perfume, and the curtain for the door of the meeting tent.
And the incense altar and its poles, the anointing oil and the fragrant incense, the hanging or screen for the door at the entrance of the tabernacle;
16 A lso they are to make: the altar of burnt gifts with its brass net and long pieces of wood for carrying it, all its objects, the washing pot and its base,
The altar of burnt offering, with its bronze grating, its poles and all its utensils, the laver and its base;
17 t he curtains of the open space, its pillars and its bases, and the curtain for the gate of the open space.
The court’s hangings, its pillars and their sockets or bases, and the hanging or screen for the gate of the court;
18 A lso the able workmen are to make: the nails of the meeting tent and the nails of the open space and their ropes,
The pegs of the tabernacle and of the court, and their cords,
19 t he well-made clothing for working in the holy place, the holy clothing for Aaron the religious leader, and the clothing for his sons as they work as religious leaders.” People Bring Their Gifts
The finely wrought garments for ministering in the Holy Place, the holy garments for Aaron the priest and for his sons to minister as priests.
20 T hen all the people of Israel went away from Moses.
Then all the congregation of the Israelites left Moses’ presence.
21 A nd every one whose heart or spirit moved him brought the Lord’s gift to be used for the meeting tent, for all its work, and for the holy clothing.
And they came, each one whose heart stirred him up and whose spirit made him willing, and brought the Lord’s offering to be used for the Tent of Meeting, for all its service, and the holy garments.
22 T hen all the men and women who wanted to give brought objects of gold that had been worn on their clothing, ears, fingers and arms. Every man gave a gift of gold to the Lord.
They came, both men and women, all who were willinghearted, and brought brooches, earrings or nose rings, signet rings, and armlets or necklaces, all jewels of gold, everyone bringing an offering of gold to the Lord.
23 A nd every one who had blue, purple and red cloth, fine linen, cloth made from goats’ hair, rams’ skins made red, and badgers’ skins, brought them.
And everyone with whom was found blue or purple or scarlet, or fine linen, or goats’ hair, or rams’ skins made red, or dolphin or porpoise skins brought them.
24 E very one who could give a gift of silver or brass brought it as a gift to the Lord. Every one who had acacia wood to be used for the work, brought it.
Everyone who could make an offering of silver or bronze brought it as the Lord’s offering, and every man with whom was found any acacia wood for any work of the service brought it.
25 A ll the able women made cloth with their hands. They brought the blue, purple and red cloth and fine linen they had made.
All the women who had ability and were wisehearted spun with their hands and brought what they had spun of blue and purple and scarlet and fine linen;
26 A ll the able women whose hearts moved them made cloth from goat hair.
And all the women who had ability and whose hearts stirred them up in wisdom spun the goats’ hair.
27 T he leaders brought the onyx stones and the stones to be set for the linen vest and the breast-piece,
The leaders brought onyx stones and stones to be set for the ephod and for the breastplate,
28 a nd the spice and the oil for the light, and the oil for holy use, and for the sweet-smelling perfume.
And spice, and oil for the light and for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense.
29 T he people of Israel who wanted to brought gifts to the Lord. Every man and woman, whose heart moved them, brought what the Lord had told them through Moses. Workmen Called by God
The Israelites brought a freewill offering to the Lord, all men and women whose hearts made them willing and moved them to bring anything for any of the work which the Lord had commanded by Moses to be done.
30 T hen Moses said to the people of Israel, “See, the Lord has called by name Bezalel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the family of Judah.
And Moses said to the Israelites, See, the Lord called by name Bezalel son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah;
31 T he Lord has filled him with the Spirit of God, in wisdom, understanding, much learning, and in all work.
And He has filled him with the Spirit of God, with ability and wisdom, with intelligence and understanding, and with knowledge and all craftsmanship,
32 S o he can make plans for working in gold, silver and brass,
To devise artistic designs, to work in gold, silver, and bronze,
33 a nd cut stones to be set, cut wood, and do good work of every kind.
In cutting of stones for setting, and in carving of wood, for work in every skilled craft.
34 T he Lord has given him the power to teach also, both he and Oholiab, the son of Ahisamach, of the family of Dan.
And God has put in Bezalel’s heart that he may teach, both he and Aholiab son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan.
35 H e has made them able to do every work: writing words in stone, gold, silver and brass, planning, sewing beautiful work on blue, purple and red cloth and fine linen, making cloth, and all kinds of work done by able workmen.
He has filled them with wisdom of heart and ability to do all manner of craftsmanship, of the engraver, of the skillful workman, of the embroiderer in blue, purple, and scarlet and in fine linen, and of the weaver, even of those who do or design any skilled work.
