1 T he Lord said to Moses,

And the Lord said to Moses,

2 Say to the people of Israel, ‘Any man of Israel or of the strangers living in Israel, who gives any of his children to the false god Molech, must be put to death. The people of the land will kill him with stones.

Moreover, you shall say to the Israelites, Any one of the Israelites or of the strangers that sojourn in Israel who gives any of his children to Molech shall surely be put to death; the people of the land shall stone him with stones.

3 I Myself will go against that man and he will not be numbered among God’s people, because he has given some of his children to Molech, making My holy place sinful and bringing shame on My holy name.

I also will set My face against that man and will cut him off from among his people, because he has given of his children to Molech, defiling My sanctuary and profaning My holy name.

4 I f the people of the land close their eyes when a man gives any of his children to Molech, and do not put him to death,

And if the people of the land do at all hide their eyes from the man when he gives one of his children to Molech and they overlook it or neglect to take legal action to punish him, winking at his sin, and do not kill him,

5 t hen I Myself will go against that man and his family. They will not be numbered among God’s people, and all who follow him to sell themselves to Molech.

Then I will set My face against that man and against his family and will cut him off from among their people, him and all who follow him to play the harlot after Molech.

6 I will go against the person who turns to those who speak with bad spirits and talk to the dead. In doing this, he sells himself to them. He will not be numbered among God’s people.

The person who turns to those who have familiar spirits and to wizards, playing the harlot after them, I will set My face against that person and will cut him off from among his people.

7 S o you should set yourselves apart and be holy. For I am the Lord your God.

Consecrate yourselves therefore, and be holy; for I am the Lord your God.

8 K eep My Laws and live by them. I am the Lord Who sets you apart.

And you shall keep My statutes and do them. I am the Lord Who sanctifies you.

9 If there is anyone who curses his father or mother, he will for sure be put to death. Because he has cursed his father or mother, his blood will be on his own head.

Everyone who curses his father or mother shall surely be put to death; he has cursed his father or mother; his bloodguilt is upon him.

10 If a man does sex sins with another man’s wife, even his friend’s wife, both the sinful man and woman must be put to death.

The man who commits adultery with another’s wife, even his neighbor’s wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death.

11 I f a man lies with his father’s wife, he has put his father to shame. Both of the guilty ones must be put to death. They will suffer for their own sin.

And the man who lies carnally with his father’s wife has uncovered his father’s nakedness; both of the guilty ones shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon their own heads.

12 I f a man lies with his daughter-in-law, both of them must be put to death. They have done a bad sex sin. They will suffer for their own sin.

And if a man lies carnally with his daughter-in-law, both of them shall surely be put to death; they have wrought confusion, perversion, and defilement; their blood shall be upon their own heads.

13 I f a man lies with a male as if he were a woman, both of them have done a very sinful act. They must be put to death. They will suffer for their own sin.

If a man lies with a male as if he were a woman, both men have committed an offense (something perverse, unnatural, abhorrent, and detestable); they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

14 I f a man marries a woman and her mother, it is sin. Both he and they will be burned with fire, so this kind of sin will not be among you.

And if a man takes a wife and her mother, it is wickedness and an outrageous offense; all three shall be burned with fire, both he and they, that there be no wickedness among you.

15 I f a man lies with an animal, he must be put to death. Kill the animal also.

And if a man lies carnally with a beast, he shall surely be to death, and you shall slay the beast.

16 I f a woman goes near any animal to have sex with it, you must kill the woman and the animal. They must be put to death. They will suffer for their own sin.

If a woman approaches any beast and lies carnally with it, you shall the woman and the beast; they shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them.

17 If a man takes his sister, his father’s or mother’s daughter, and he sees her without clothes on and she sees him, it is a shame. They will be punished in front of their people. He has taken off his sister’s clothes. He will suffer for his own sin.

If a man takes his sister, his father’s or his mother’s daughter, and sees her nakedness and she sees his nakedness, it is a wicked and shameful thing; and they shall be cut off in the sight of their people; he has had sexual relations with his sister; he shall bear his iniquity.

18 I f a man lies with a woman who has a flow of blood, and takes her clothes off, he has made her flow to show. And she has shown the flow of her blood. So both of them will not be numbered among God’s people.

And if a man shall lie with a woman having her menstrual pains and shall uncover her nakedness, he has made naked her fountain, and she has uncovered the fountain of her blood; and both of them shall be cut off from among their people.

19 D o not take the clothes off your mother’s sister or father’s sister. For that is putting to shame one of your own family. They will suffer for their own sin.

You shall not uncover the nakedness of your mother’s sister or of your father’s sister, for that is to make naked his close kin; they shall bear their iniquity.

20 I f a man lies with the wife of his father’s or mother’s brother, he has put to shame his father’s or mother’s brother. They will suffer for their own sin. They will die without children.

And if a man shall lie carnally with his uncle’s wife, he has uncovered his uncle’s nakedness; they shall bear their sin; they shall die childless.

21 I f a man takes his brother’s wife, it is sin. He has put his brother to shame. They will have no children.

And if a man shall take his brother’s wife, it is impurity; he has uncovered his brother’s nakedness; they shall be childless.

22 Keep all My Laws and do what I tell you, so the land where I am bringing you to live will not spit you out.

You shall therefore keep all My statutes and all My ordinances and do them, that the land where I am bringing you to dwell may not vomit you out.

23 D o not follow the ways of the nation which I am driving out before you. For they did all these things, and so I hated them.

You shall not walk in the customs of the nation which I am casting out before you; for they did all these things, and therefore I was wearied and grieved by them.

24 B ut I have said to you, “Their land will belong to you. I Myself will give it to you for your own, a land flowing with milk and honey.” I am the Lord your God, Who has set you apart from all other peoples.

But I have said to you, You shall inherit their land, and I will give it to you to possess, a land flowing with milk and honey. I am the Lord your God, Who has separated you from the peoples.

25 Y ou are to know the difference between the clean animal and the animal that is unclean, and between the clean bird and the bird that is unclean. Do not make yourselves a sinful people with animal or bird or anything that moves on the ground, which I have set apart from you as being unclean.

You shall therefore make a distinction between the clean beast and the unclean, and between the unclean fowl and the clean; and you shall not make yourselves detestable with beast or with bird or with anything with which the ground teems or that creeps, which I have set apart from you as unclean.

26 B e holy to Me, for I the Lord am holy. I have divided you from the nations, so you belong to Me.

And you shall be holy to Me; for I the Lord am holy, and have separated you from the peoples, that you should be Mine.

27 A man or woman who speaks with bad spirits or who talks to the dead must be put to death. They will be killed with stones. They will suffer for their own sin.’”

A man or woman who is a medium and has a familiar spirit or is a wizard shall surely be put to death, be stoned with stones; their blood shall be upon them.
