1 P raise the Lord! I will give thanks to the Lord with all my heart where those who are right with God gather together and in the meeting of the people.

Praise the Lord! (Hallelujah!) I will praise and give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart in the council of the upright and in the congregation.

2 T he works of the Lord are great. All who find joy in them try to understand them.

The works of the Lord are great, sought out by all those who have delight in them.

3 H is work is great and powerful. And He is right and good forever.

His work is honorable and glorious, and His righteousness endures forever.

4 H e has made His great works to be remembered. The Lord shows loving-favor and pity.

He has made His wonderful works to be remembered; the Lord is gracious, merciful, and full of loving compassion.

5 H e gives food to those who fear Him. He will remember His agreement forever.

He has given food and provision to those who reverently and worshipfully fear Him; He will remember His covenant forever and imprint it.

6 H e has shown His people the power of His works by giving them the land of other nations.

He has declared and shown to His people the power of His works in giving them the heritage of the nations.

7 T he works of His hands are faithful and right. All His Laws are true.

The works of His hands are truth and justice; and all His decrees and precepts are sure (fixed, established, and trustworthy).

8 T hey stand strong forever and ever. They are done by what is true and right.

They stand fast and are established forever and ever and are done in truth and uprightness.

9 H e has made a way for His people to be free. He has set up His agreement forever. His holy name is to be honored with fear.

He has sent redemption to His people; He has commanded His covenant to be forever; holy is His name, inspiring awe, reverence, and godly fear.

10 T he fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. All who obey His Laws have good understanding. His praise lasts forever.

The reverent fear and worship of the Lord is the beginning of Wisdom and skill; a good understanding, wisdom, and meaning have all those who do. Their praise of Him endures forever.
