1 I s there not an warfare and hard labor to man upon earth? And are not his days like the days of a hireling?

人 在 世 上 岂 无 争 战 麽 ？ 他 的 日 子 不 像 雇 工 人 的 日 子 麽 ？

2 A s a servant earnestly longs for the shade and the evening shadows, and as a hireling who looks for the reward of his work,

像 奴 仆 切 慕 黑 影 ， 像 雇 工 人 盼 望 工 价 ；

3 S o am I allotted months of futile, and nights of misery are appointed to me.

我 也 照 样 经 过 困 苦 的 日 月 ， 夜 间 的 疲 乏 为 我 而 定 。

4 W hen I lie down I say, When shall I arise and the night be gone? And I am full of tossing to and fro till the dawning of the day.

我 躺 卧 的 时 候 便 说 ： 我 何 时 起 来 ， 黑 夜 就 过 去 呢 ？ 我 尽 是 反 来 覆 去 ， 直 到 天 亮 。

5 M y flesh is clothed with worms and clods of dust; my skin is broken and has become loathsome, and it closes up and breaks out afresh.

我 的 肉 体 以 虫 子 和 尘 土 为 衣 ； 我 的 皮 肤 才 收 了 口 又 重 新 破 裂 。

6 M y days are swifter than a weaver’s shuttle, and are spent without hope.

我 的 日 子 比 梭 更 快 ， 都 消 耗 在 无 指 望 之 中 。

7 O h, remember that my life is but wind (a puff, a breath, a sob); my eye shall see good no more.

求 你 想 念 ， 我 的 生 命 不 过 是 一 口 气 ； 我 的 眼 睛 必 不 再 见 福 乐 。

8 T he eye of him who sees me shall see me no more; while your eyes are upon me, I shall be gone.

观 看 我 的 人 ， 他 的 眼 必 不 再 见 我 ； 你 的 眼 目 要 看 我 ， 我 却 不 在 了 。

9 A s the cloud is consumed and vanishes away, so he who goes down to Sheol (the place of the dead) shall come up no more.

云 彩 消 散 而 过 ； 照 样 ， 人 下 阴 间 也 不 再 上 来 。

10 H e shall return no more to his house, neither shall his place know him any more.

他 不 再 回 自 己 的 家 ； 故 土 也 不 再 认 识 他 。

11 T herefore I will not restrain my mouth; I will speak in the anguish of my spirit, I will complain in the bitterness of my soul!

我 不 禁 止 我 口 ； 我 灵 愁 苦 ， 要 发 出 言 语 ； 我 心 苦 恼 ， 要 吐 露 哀 情 。

12 A m I the sea, or the sea monster, that You set a watch over me?

我 对 神 说 ： 我 岂 是 洋 海 ， 岂 是 大 鱼 ， 你 竟 防 守 我 呢 ？

13 W hen I say, My bed shall comfort me, my couch shall ease my complaint,

若 说 ： 我 的 床 必 安 慰 我 ， 我 的 榻 必 解 释 我 的 苦 情 ，

14 T hen You scare me with dreams and terrify me through visions,

你 就 用 梦 惊 骇 我 ， 用 异 象 恐 吓 我 ，

15 S o that I would choose strangling and death rather than these my bones.

甚 至 我 宁 肯 噎 死 ， 宁 肯 死 亡 ， 胜 似 留 我 这 一 身 的 骨 头 。

16 I loathe my life; I would not live forever. Let me alone, for my days are a breath (futility).

我 厌 弃 性 命 ， 不 愿 永 活 。 你 任 凭 我 罢 ， 因 我 的 日 子 都 是 虚 空 。

17 W hat is man that You should magnify him and think him important? And that You should set Your mind upon him?

人 算 甚 麽 ， 你 竟 看 他 为 大 ， 将 他 放 在 心 上 ？

18 A nd that You should visit him every morning and try him every moment?

每 早 鉴 察 他 ， 时 刻 试 验 他 ？

19 H ow long will Your glance not look away from me, nor You let me alone till I swallow my spittle?

你 到 何 时 才 转 眼 不 看 我 ， 才 任 凭 我 咽 下 唾 沫 呢 ？

20 I f I have sinned, what have I done You, O You Watcher and Keeper of men? Why have You set me as a mark for You, so that I am a burden to myself ?

鉴 察 人 的 主 啊 ， 我 若 有 罪 ， 於 你 何 妨 ？ 为 何 以 我 当 你 的 箭 靶 子 ， 使 我 厌 弃 自 己 的 性 命 ？

21 A nd why do You not pardon my transgression and take away my iniquity? For now shall I lie down in the dust; and You will seek me diligently, I shall not be.

为 何 不 赦 免 我 的 过 犯 ， 除 掉 我 的 罪 孽 ？ 我 现 今 要 躺 卧 在 尘 土 中 ； 你 要 殷 勤 地 寻 找 我 ， 我 却 不 在 了 。
