1 A nd Job again took up his discussion and said,

约 伯 又 接 着 说 ：

2 O h, that I were as in the months of old, as in the days when God watched over me,

惟 愿 我 的 景 况 如 从 前 的 月 份 ， 如 神 保 守 我 的 日 子 。

3 W hen His lamp shone above and upon my head and by His light I walked through darkness;

那 时 他 的 灯 照 在 我 头 上 ； 我 藉 他 的 光 行 过 黑 暗 。

4 A s I was in the ripeness of my days, when the friendship and counsel of God were over my tent,

我 愿 如 壮 年 的 时 候 ： 那 时 我 在 帐 棚 中 ， 神 待 我 有 密 友 之 情 ；

5 W hen the Almighty was yet with me and my children were about me,

全 能 者 仍 与 我 同 在 ； 我 的 儿 女 都 环 绕 我 。

6 W hen my steps were washed with butter and the rock poured out for me streams of oil!

奶 多 可 洗 我 的 脚 ； 磐 石 为 我 出 油 成 河 。

7 W hen I went out to the gate of the city, when I prepared my seat in the street,

我 出 到 城 门 ， 在 街 上 设 立 座 位 ；

8 T he young men saw me and hid themselves; the aged rose up and stood;

少 年 人 见 我 而 ? 避 ， 老 年 人 也 起 身 站 立 ；

9 T he princes refrained from talking and laid their hands on their mouths;

王 子 都 停 止 说 话 ， 用 手 捂 口 ；

10 T he voices of the nobles were hushed, and their tongues cleaved to the roof of their mouths.

首 领 静 默 无 声 ， 舌 头 贴 住 上 膛 。

11 F or when the ear heard, it called me happy and blessed me; and when the eye saw, it testified for me,

耳 朵 听 我 的 ， 就 称 我 有 福 ； 眼 睛 看 我 的 ， 便 称 赞 我 ；

12 B ecause I delivered the poor who cried, the fatherless and him who had none to help him.

因 我 拯 救 哀 求 的 困 苦 人 和 无 人 帮 助 的 孤 儿 。

13 T he blessing of him who was about to perish came upon me, and I caused the widow’s heart to sing for joy.

将 要 灭 亡 的 为 我 祝 福 ； 我 也 使 寡 妇 心 中 欢 乐 。

14 I put on righteousness, and it clothed me or clothed itself with me; my justice was like a robe and a turban or a diadem or a crown!

我 以 公 义 为 衣 服 ， 以 公 平 为 外 袍 和 冠 冕 。

15 I was eyes to the blind, and feet was I to the lame.

我 为 瞎 子 的 眼 ， 瘸 子 的 脚 。

16 I was a father to the poor and needy; the cause of him I did not know I searched out.

我 为 穷 乏 人 的 父 ； 素 不 认 识 的 人 ， 我 查 明 他 的 案 件 。

17 A nd I broke the jaws or the big teeth of the unrighteous and plucked the prey out of his teeth.

我 打 破 不 义 之 人 的 牙 床 ， 从 他 牙 齿 中 夺 了 所 抢 的 。

18 T hen I said, I shall die in or beside my nest, and I shall multiply my days as the sand.

我 便 说 ： 我 必 死 在 家 中 （ 原 文 是 窝 中 ） ， 必 增 添 我 的 日 子 ， 多 如 尘 沙 。

19 M y root is spread out and open to the waters, and the dew lies all night upon my branch.

我 的 根 长 到 水 边 ； 露 水 终 夜 沾 在 我 的 枝 上 。

20 M y glory and honor are fresh in me, and my bow gains new strength in my hand.

我 的 荣 耀 在 身 上 增 新 ； 我 的 弓 在 手 中 日 强 。

21 M en listened to me and waited and kept silence for my counsel.

人 听 见 我 而 仰 望 ， 静 默 等 候 我 的 指 教 。

22 A fter I spoke, they did not speak again, and my speech dropped upon them.

我 说 话 之 後 ， 他 们 就 不 再 说 ； 我 的 言 语 像 雨 露 滴 在 他 们 身 上 。

23 A nd they waited for me as for the rain, and they opened their mouths wide as for the spring rain.

他 们 仰 望 我 如 仰 望 雨 ， 又 张 开 口 如 切 慕 春 雨 。

24 I smiled on them when they had no confidence, and their depression did not cast down the light of my countenance.

他 们 不 敢 自 信 ， 我 就 向 他 们 含 笑 ； 他 们 不 使 我 脸 上 的 光 改 变 。

25 I chose their way and sat as chief, and dwelt like a king among his soldiers, like one who comforts mourners.

我 为 他 们 选 择 道 路 ， 又 坐 首 位 ； 我 如 君 王 在 军 队 中 居 住 ， 又 如 吊 丧 的 安 慰 伤 心 的 人 。
