1 “ You are the children of the Lord your God; you shall not cut yourselves nor shave the front of your head for the dead.
«أنتُمْ أولادٌ لإلَهِكُمْ ، فَلا تُجَرِّحُوا أنفُسَكُمْ، وَلا تَحلِقُوا الشَّعرَ الَّذِي فَوقَ جِباهِكُمْ حُزناً عَلَى المَوتَى،
2 F or you are a holy people to the Lord your God, and the Lord has chosen you to be a people for Himself, a special treasure above all the peoples who are on the face of the earth. Clean and Unclean Meat
لأنَّكُمْ شَعبٌ مُقَدَّسٌ وَخاصٌّ بِإلَهِكُمْ ، وَقَدِ اختارَكُمْ اللهُ مِنْ بَينِ جَميعِ شُعُوبِ الأرْضِ لِتَكُونُوا شَعبَهُ الخاصَّ. الحَيواناتُ الطّاهِرَةُ وَالنَّجِسَة
3 “ You shall not eat any detestable thing.
«لا تَأكُلُوا شَيئاً مَكرُوهاً.
4 T hese are the animals which you may eat: the ox, the sheep, the goat,
وَهَذِهِ هِيَ الحَيواناتُ الَّتِي يُمكِنُكُمْ أنْ تَأكُلُوها: البَقَرَ وَالغَنَمَ وَالماعِزَ
5 t he deer, the gazelle, the roe deer, the wild goat, the mountain goat, the antelope, and the mountain sheep.
وَالغَزالَ وَالإيَّلَ وَالغَزالَ الأبْيَضَ وَالماعِزَ البَرِّيَّ وَالوَعلَ وَالبَقَرَ الوَحشِيَّ وَماعِزَ الجِبالِ.
6 A nd you may eat every animal with cloven hooves, having the hoof split into two parts, and that chews the cud, among the animals.
يُمكِنُكُمْ أنْ تَأكُلُوا أيَّ حَيوانٍ يَجْتَرُّ وَحافِرُهُ مَشقُوقٌ إلَى قِسْمَينِ.
7 N evertheless, of those that chew the cud or have cloven hooves, you shall not eat, such as these: the camel, the hare, and the rock hyrax; for they chew the cud but do not have cloven hooves; they are unclean for you.
لَكِنْ مِنَ الحَيواناتِ الَّتِي تَجتَرُّ أوْ لَها حافِرٌ مَشقُوقٌ، لا تَأكُلُوا الجَمَلَ وَالأرنَبَ وَالوَبارَ، لأنَّها تَجتَرُّ وَلَكِنَّ حافِرَها غَيرَ مَشقُوقٍ فَهِيَ نَجِسَةٌ لَكُمْ.
8 A lso the swine is unclean for you, because it has cloven hooves, yet does not chew the cud; you shall not eat their flesh or touch their dead carcasses.
لا تَأكُلُوا لَحمَ الخِنزِيرِ. فَحافِرُهُ مَشقُوقٌ، لَكِنَّهُ لا يَجتَرُّ. لا تَأكُلُوا مِنْ لَحمِهِ وَلا تَلمَسُوا جُثَّتَهُ المَيِّتَةَ لأنَّها نَجِسَةٌ لَكُمْ.
9 “ These you may eat of all that are in the waters: you may eat all that have fins and scales.
«أمّا مِنْ كُلِّ الكائِناتِ الَّتِي فِي الماءِ، فَيُمكِنُكُمْ أنْ تَأكُلُوا كُلَّ ما لَهُ زَعانِفَ وَحَراشِفَ.
10 A nd whatever does not have fins and scales you shall not eat; it is unclean for you.
وَلَكِنْ كُلُّ ما لَيسَ لَهُ زَعانِفٌ أوْ حَراشِفٌ فَلا يَجُوزُ لَكُمْ أنْ تَأكُلُوهُ، فَهُوَ نَجِسٌ لَكُمْ.
11 “ All clean birds you may eat.
«يُمكِنُكُمْ أكلُ أيِّ طائِرٍ طاهِرٍ.
12 B ut these you shall not eat: the eagle, the vulture, the buzzard,
أمّا الطُّيُورُ الَّتِي لا يَنْبَغِي أنْ تَأكُلُوها فَهِيَ النَّسرُ وَالأنُوقُ وَالعُقابُ،
13 t he red kite, the falcon, and the kite after their kinds;
وَالحِدَأةُ وَالشّاهِينُ وَكُلُّ أنواعِ الصُّقُورِ،
14 e very raven after its kind;
وَكُلُّ أنواعِ الغِربانِ،
15 t he ostrich, the short-eared owl, the sea gull, and the hawk after their kinds;
وَالنَّعامُ وَالخُطّافُ وَالنَّورَسُ وَكُلُّ أنواعِ البازِ،
16 t he little owl, the screech owl, the white owl,
وَالبُومُ وَالكُرْكِيُّ وَالبَجَعُ،
17 t he jackdaw, the carrion vulture, the fisher owl,
وَالقُوقُ وَالرَّخَمُ وَالغَوّاصُ،
18 t he stork, the heron after its kind, and the hoopoe and the bat.
وَالَّلَقلَقُ وَمالِكُ الحَزِينُ بِأنْواعِهِ وَالهُدهُدُ وَالخُفّاشُ.
19 “ Also every creeping thing that flies is unclean for you; they shall not be eaten.
وَكُلُّ الحَشَراتِ ذَواتِ الأجنِحَةِ نَجِسَةٌ فَلا تَأكُلُوها.
20 “ You may eat all clean birds.
وَأمّا كُلُّ طائِرٍ طاهِرٍ فَيُمكِنُكُمْ أكلُهُ.
21 “ You shall not eat anything that dies of itself; you may give it to the alien who is within your gates, that he may eat it, or you may sell it to a foreigner; for you are a holy people to the Lord your God. “You shall not boil a young goat in its mother’s milk. Tithing Principles
«لا تَأكُلُوا أيَّ حَيَوانٍ ماتَ مِيتَةً طَبِيعِيَّةً، بَلْ أعطُوها لَلغَرِيبِ السّاكِنِ فِي مُدُنِكُمْ فَيَأكُلَهُ. أوْ بيعُوهُ لأيِّ غَرِيبٍ يَزُورُ أرْضَكُمْ، لأنَّكُمْ شَعبٌ مُقَدَّسٌ وَخاصٌّ لإلَهِكُمْ. وَلا تَطبُخُوا جِدياً بِحَليبِ أُمِّهِ. العُشُور
22 “ You shall truly tithe all the increase of your grain that the field produces year by year.
«ضَعُوا جانِباً عُشْرَ كُلِّ مَحاصِيلِكُمُ الَّتِي تَنبُتُ فِي الأرْضِ كُلَّ سَنَةٍ.
23 A nd you shall eat before the Lord your God, in the place where He chooses to make His name abide, the tithe of your grain and your new wine and your oil, of the firstborn of your herds and your flocks, that you may learn to fear the Lord your God always.
وَكُلُوا عُشْرَ قَمْحِكُمْ وَنَبِيذِكُمُ وَزَيتِكُمْ، وَأبْكارِ بَقَرِكُمْ وَغَنَمِكُمْ فِي حَضْرَةِ إلَهِكُمْ ، وَفِي المَكانِ الَّذِي يَختارُهُ لِيُسكِنَ اسْمَهُ فِيهِ، لِتَتَعَلَّمُوا أنْ تَهابُوا إلَهَكُمْ دائِماً.
24 B ut if the journey is too long for you, so that you are not able to carry the tithe, or if the place where the Lord your God chooses to put His name is too far from you, when the Lord your God has blessed you,
«وَلَكِنْ إذا كانَتِ المَسافَةُ طَوِيلَةً، وَلَمْ تَتَمَكَّنُوا مِنْ حَملِ العُشُورِ، لِأنَّ المَكانَ الَّذِي اخْتارَ إلَهُكُمْ أنْ يَضَعَ اسْمَهُ فِيهِ بَعِيدٌ عَنكُمْ حِينَ يُبارِكُكُمْ،
25 t hen you shall exchange it for money, take the money in your hand, and go to the place which the Lord your God chooses.
عَوِّضُوا عَنْ عُشرِ الطَّعامِ بِمالٍ. وَخُذُوا المالَ مَعَكُمْ إلَى المَكانِ الَّذِي سَيَختارُهُ إلَهُكُمْ.
26 A nd you shall spend that money for whatever your heart desires: for oxen or sheep, for wine or similar drink, for whatever your heart desires; you shall eat there before the Lord your God, and you shall rejoice, you and your household.
وَهُناكَ، اشْتَرُوا ما تَحْتاجُونَ إلَيهِ مِنْ بَقَرٍ أوْ غَنَمٍ أوْ نَبيذٍ أوْ شَرابٍ أوْ أيِّ شَيءٍ تُرِيدُونَهُ. فَكُلُوا أنتُمْ وَعائِلاتُكُمْ فِي حَضْرَةِ إلَهِكُمْ وَابتَهِجُوا مَعاً.
27 Y ou shall not forsake the Levite who is within your gates, for he has no part nor inheritance with you.
وَلا تُهمِلُوا الَّلاوِيِّينَ الَّذِينَ فِي مُدُنِكُمْ، إذْ لَيسَ لَهُمْ حِصَّةٌ مِنَ الأرْضِ مَعكُمْ.
28 “ At the end of every third year you shall bring out the tithe of your produce of that year and store it up within your gates.
«وَفِي نِهايَةِ كُلِّ ثَلاثِ سَنَواتٍ، أحضِرُوا عُشرَ كُلِّ مَحاصِيلِ حُقُولِكُمْ فِي تِلكَ السَّنَةِ، وَضَعُوها فِي مُدُنِكُمْ،
29 A nd the Levite, because he has no portion nor inheritance with you, and the stranger and the fatherless and the widow who are within your gates, may come and eat and be satisfied, that the Lord your God may bless you in all the work of your hand which you do.
فَيَأتِي الَّلاوِيُّونَ، لأنَّهُمْ لا يَملِكُونَ أرْضاً، كَما يَأتِي اليَتامَى وَالأرامِلُ وَالغُرَباءُ المُقِيمُونَ فِي مُدُنِكُمْ، وَيَأكُلُونَ وَيَشبَعُونَ. فَيُبارِكُكُمُ إلَهُكُمْ فِي كُلِّ شَيءٍ تَعمَلُونَهُ.
