1 N ow these are the priests and the Levites who came up with Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Jeshua: Seraiah, Jeremiah, Ezra,

وَهَذِهِ أسْماءُ الكَهَنَةِ وَالَّلاوِيِّينَ الَّذِينَ عادُوا إلَى مَدينَةِ القُدْسِ مِنَ الأسْرِ مَعَ زَرُبّابِلَ بْنِ شَألَتئِيلَ وَيَشُوعَ: سَرايا وَيَرْمِيا وَعَزْرا

2 A mariah, Malluch, Hattush,

وَأمَرْيا وَمَلُّوخُ وَحَطُّوشُ

3 S hechaniah, Rehum, Meremoth,

وَشَكَنْيا وَرَحُومُ وَمَرِيمُوثُ

4 I ddo, Ginnethoi, Abijah,

وَعِدُّو وَجِنْتُويُ وَأبِيّا

5 M ijamin, Maadiah, Bilgah,

وَمِيّامِينَ وَمَعَدْيا وَبَلْجَةَ

6 S hemaiah, Joiarib, Jedaiah,

وَشَمَعْيا وَيُويارِيبُ وَيَدَعْيا

7 S allu, Amok, Hilkiah, and Jedaiah. These were the heads of the priests and their brethren in the days of Jeshua.

وَسَلُو وَعامُوقُ وَحِلْقِيّا وَيَدَعِيا. كانَ هَؤُلاءِ قادَةَ أولَئِكَ الكَهَنَةِ وَمُساعِدِيهِمْ فِي زَمَنِ يَشُوعَ.

8 M oreover the Levites were Jeshua, Binnui, Kadmiel, Sherebiah, Judah, and Mattaniah who led the thanksgiving psalms, he and his brethren.

أمّا الَّلاوِيُّونَ فَهُمْ يَشُوعُ وَبِنُّويُ وَقَدْمِيئِيلُ وَشَرَبْيا وَيَهُوذا وَمَتَّنْيا الَّذِي كانَ مَسْؤُولاً مَعَ جَماعَتِهِ عَنْ تَرانِيمِ الشُّكْرِ.

9 A lso Bakbukiah and Unni, their brethren, stood across from them in their duties.

وَكانَ قَرِيباهُمْ بَقْبُقْيا وَعُنِّي يَقِفانِ مُقابِلَهُمْ أثْناءَ خِدْماتِ العِبادَةِ.

10 J eshua begot Joiakim, Joiakim begot Eliashib, Eliashib begot Joiada,

كانَ يَشُوعُ أبا يُوياقِيمَ، وَيُوياقِيمُ أبا ألْياشِيبَ، وَألْياشِيبُ أبا يُوياداعَ،

11 J oiada begot Jonathan, and Jonathan begot Jaddua.

وَيُوياداعُ أبا يُوناثانَ، وَيُوناثانُ أبا يَشُوعَ.

12 N ow in the days of Joiakim, the priests, the heads of the fathers’ houses were: of Seraiah, Meraiah; of Jeremiah, Hananiah;

وَفِي زَمَنِ يُوياقِيمَ كانَ هَؤُلاءِ قادَةً لِلعائِلاتِ الكَهَنُوتِيَّةِ. كانَ مَرايا رَئِيساً عَلَى عائِلَةِ سَرايا، وَحَنَنْيا رَئِيساً لِعائِلَةِ يَرْمِيا،

13 o f Ezra, Meshullam; of Amariah, Jehohanan;

وَمَشُلّامُ رَئِيساً لِعائِلَةِ عَزْرا، وَيَهُوحانانُ رَئِيساً لِعائِلَةِ أمَرْيا،

14 o f Melichu, Jonathan; of Shebaniah, Joseph;

وَيُوناثانُ رَئِيساً لِعائِلَةِ مَلِيكُو، وَيُوسُفُ رَئِيساً لِعائِلَةِ شَكَنْيا،

15 o f Harim, Adna; of Meraioth, Helkai;

وَعَدْنا رَئِيساً لِعائِلَةِ حَرِيمَ، وَحِلْقايُ رَئِيساً لِعائِلَةِ مَرايُوثَ،

16 o f Iddo, Zechariah; of Ginnethon, Meshullam;

وَزَكَرِيّا رَئِيساً لِعائِلَةِ عِدُّو، وَمَشُلّامُ رَئِيساً لِعائِلَةِ جِنَثُونَ،

17 o f Abijah, Zichri; the son of Minjamin; of Moadiah, Piltai;

وَزِكْرِي رَئِيساً لِعائِلَةِ أبِيّا، وَفِلْطايُ رَئِيساً لِعائِلَةِ مِنْيامِينَ وَمُوعَدْيا،

18 o f Bilgah, Shammua; of Shemaiah, Jehonathan;

وَشَمُّوعُ رَئِيساً لِعائِلَةِ بِلْجَةَ، وَيَهُوناثانُ رَئِيساً لِعائِلَةِ شَمَعْيا،

19 o f Joiarib, Mattenai; of Jedaiah, Uzzi;

وَمَتْنايُ رَئِيساً لِعائِلَةِ يُويارِيبَ، وَعُزِّي رَئِيساً لِعائِلَةِ يَدَعْيا،

20 o f Sallai, Kallai; of Amok, Eber;

وَقَلّايُ رَئِيساً لِعائِلَةِ لِسَلّايَ، وَعابِرُ رَئِيساً لِعائِلَةِ عامُوقَ،

21 o f Hilkiah, Hashabiah; and of Jedaiah, Nethanel.

وَحَشَبْيا رَئِيساً لِعائِلَةِ حِلْقِيا، وَنَثْنئِيلُ رَئِيساً لِعائِلَةِ يَدَعْيا.

22 D uring the reign of Darius the Persian, a record was also kept of the Levites and priests who had been heads of their fathers’ houses in the days of Eliashib, Joiada, Johanan, and Jaddua.

وَتَمَّ فِي زَمَنِ ألِياشِيبَ وَيُوياداعَ وَيُوحانانَ وَيَدُّوعَ تَسْجِيلُ أسْماءِ الَّلاوِيِّينَ كَرُؤَساءَ لِلعائِلاتِ. كَما سُجِّلَتْ أسْماءُ الكَهَنَةِ أثْناءَ حُكْمِ داريُوسَ الفارِسِيِّ عِندَما كانَ مَلِكاً.

23 T he sons of Levi, the heads of the fathers’ houses until the days of Johanan the son of Eliashib, were written in the book of the chronicles.

وَكُتِبَتْ أسْماءُ رُؤَساءِ عائِلاتِ الَّلاوِيِّينَ فِي دَفْتَرِ السِّجِلّاتِ حَتَّى زَمَنِ يُوحانانَ بْنِ ألِياشِيبَ.

24 A nd the heads of the Levites were Hashabiah, Sherebiah, and Jeshua the son of Kadmiel, with their brothers across from them, to praise and give thanks, group alternating with group, according to the command of David the man of God.

وَكانَ حَشَبْيا وَشَرَبْيا وَيَشُوعُ وَبِنُّويُ وَقَدَمْئِيلُ وَأقرِباؤُهُمْ قادَةَ الَّلاوِيِّينَ. وَكانَ أقْرِباؤُهُمْ هَؤُلاءِ يَقِفُونَ مُقابِلَهُمْ لِيُسَبِّحُوا اللهَ وَيَشْكُرُوهُ حَسَبَ أمْرِ داوُدَ رَجُلِ اللهِ. كانَتْ جَماعَةٌ تُرَنِّمُ، وَأُخرَى تَرُدُّ عَلَيها.

25 M attaniah, Bakbukiah, Obadiah, Meshullam, Talmon, and Akkub were gatekeepers keeping the watch at the storerooms of the gates.

وَكانَ مَتَّنْيا وَبَقْبُقْيا وَعُوبَدْيا وَمَشُلّامُ وَطَلْمُونُ وَعَقُوبُ حُرّاساً لِلبَوّاباتِ قُرْبَ المَخازِنِ عِنْدَ البَوّاباتِ.

26 T hese lived in the days of Joiakim the son of Jeshua, the son of Jozadak, and in the days of Nehemiah the governor, and of Ezra the priest, the scribe. Nehemiah Dedicates the Wall

خَدَمَ هَؤُلاءِ فِي زَمَنِ يُوياقِيمَ بْنِ يَشُوعَ بْنِ يُوصاداقَ وَفِي زَمَنِ نَحَمْيا الوالِي وَعَزْرا الكاهِنِ وَالمُعَلِّمِ. تَكْرِيسُ سُورِ القُدْس

27 N ow at the dedication of the wall of Jerusalem they sought out the Levites in all their places, to bring them to Jerusalem to celebrate the dedication with gladness, both with thanksgivings and singing, with cymbals and stringed instruments and harps.

وَعِنْدَما صَلُّوا وَكَرَّسُوا سُورَ القُدْسِ للهِ، بَحَثُوا عَنِ الَّلاوِيِّينَ أينَما كانُوا يَسْكُنُونَ، وَجَلَبُوهُمْ إلَى مَدينَةِ القُدْسِ لِيَحتَفِلُوا بِتَكْرِيسِ السُّورِ وَتَخصِيصِهِ للهِ. وَكانَتْ هُناكَ جَوْقاتٌ مُوسِيقِيَّةٌ تَشْكُرُ وَتُسَبِّحُ وَتُرَنِّمُ بِالصُّنُوجِ وَالرَّبابِ وَالقَياثِيرِ.

28 A nd the sons of the singers gathered together from the countryside around Jerusalem, from the villages of the Netophathites,

وَاجتَمَعَ المُرَنِّمُونَ مِنَ المَناطِقِ المُحِيطَةِ بِالقُدْسِ وَمِنْ قُرَى نَطُوفاتِي،

29 f rom the house of Gilgal, and from the fields of Geba and Azmaveth; for the singers had built themselves villages all around Jerusalem.

وَأيضاً مِنْ بَيْتِ الجِلْجالِ وَحُقُولِ جَبَعَ وَعَزْمُوتَ، لِأنَّ المُرَنِّمِينَ كانُوا قَدْ بَنَوْا لِأنفُسِهِمْ قُرَىً حَولَ القُدْسِ.

30 T hen the priests and Levites purified themselves, and purified the people, the gates, and the wall.

وَطَهَّرَ الكَهَنَةُ وَالَّلاوِيُّونَ أنفُسَهُمْ، وَطَهَّرُوا الشَّعبَ وَالأبْوابَ وَالسُّورَ.

31 S o I brought the leaders of Judah up on the wall, and appointed two large thanksgiving choirs. One went to the right hand on the wall toward the Refuse Gate.

ثُمَّ جَعَلْتُ قادَةَ بَنِي يَهُوذا يَصْعَدُونَ إلَى السُّورِ. وَعَيَّنْتُ جَوْقَتَينِ كَبِيرَتَينِ لِتُرَنِّما تَرانِيمَ شُكْرٍ للهِ. فَسارَتْ جَوْقَةٌ أعلَى السُّورِ مِنَ الجِهَةِ اليُمْنَى نَحْوَ بابِ الدِّمْنِ.

32 A fter them went Hoshaiah and half of the leaders of Judah,

وَسارَ وَراءَها هُوشَعْيا وَنِصْفُ قادَةِ يَهُوذا.

33 a nd Azariah, Ezra, Meshullam,

وَسارَ مَعَهُمْ أيضاً عَزَرْيا وَعَزْرا وَمَشُلّامُ

34 J udah, Benjamin, Shemaiah, Jeremiah,

وَيَهُوذا وَبَنْيامِيْنُ وَشَمَعْيا وَيَرْمِيا،

35 a nd some of the priests’ sons with trumpets—Zechariah the son of Jonathan, the son of Shemaiah, the son of Mattaniah, the son of Michaiah, the son of Zaccur, the son of Asaph,

وَبَعضُ الكَهَنَةِ وَهُمْ يَنفُخُونَ الأبْواقَ. وَزَكَرِيّا بْنُ يُوناثانَ بْنِ شَمَعْيا بْنِ مَتَّنْيا بْنِ مِيخا بْنِ زَكُّورَ بْنِ آسافَ،

36 a nd his brethren, Shemaiah, Azarel, Milalai, Gilalai, Maai, Nethanel, Judah, and Hanani, with the musical instruments of David the man of God. Ezra the scribe went before them.

وَأقرِباؤُهُ شَمَعْيا وَعَزَرْئِيلُ وَمِللايُ وَجِللايُ وَماعايُ وَنَثَنْئِيلُ وَيَهُوذا وَحَنانِي، وَهُمْ يَعزِفُونَ عَلَى آلاتِ داوُدَ رَجُلِ اللهِ. وَسارَ أمامَهُمْ المُعَلِّمُ عَزْرا. فَسارُوا فَوقَ بابِ العَيْنِ.

37 B y the Fountain Gate, in front of them, they went up the stairs of the City of David, on the stairway of the wall, beyond the house of David, as far as the Water Gate eastward.

ثُمَّ صَعِدُوا أعلَى دَرَجاتِ مَدِينَةِ داوُدَ – الدَّرَجاتِ المُوصِلَةِ إلَى السُّورِ. وَمَرُّوا فَوْقَ بَيْتِ داوُدَ حَتَّى وَصَلُوا إلَى بابِ الماءِ شَرْقاً.

38 T he other thanksgiving choir went the opposite way, and I was behind them with half of the people on the wall, going past the Tower of the Ovens as far as the Broad Wall,

وَاتَّجَهَتْ جَوْقَةُ الشُّكرِ الثّانِيَةِ إلَى اليَسارِ. وَتَبِعْنا أنا وَالنِّصْفُ الآخَرُ مِنْ قادَةِ الشَّعبِ المَوكِبَ عَلَى السُّورِ. وَمَرَرْنا بِبُرجِ التَّنانِيرِ بِاتِّجاهِ السُّورِ العَرِيضِ،

39 a nd above the Gate of Ephraim, above the Old Gate, above the Fish Gate, the Tower of Hananel, the Tower of the Hundred, as far as the Sheep Gate; and they stopped by the Gate of the Prison.

وَمَرَرْنا بِبابِ أفْرايِمَ، وَفَوقَ بابِ المَدِينَةِ القَدِيمَةِ، وَبابِ السَّمَكِ وَبُرجِ حَنَنْئِيلَ وَبُرجِ المِئَةِ، حَتَّى وَصَلْنا بابَ الضَّأْنِ، وَتَوَقَّفْنا عِنْدَ بابِ الحُرّاسِ.

40 S o the two thanksgiving choirs stood in the house of God, likewise I and the half of the rulers with me;

وَأخَذَتْ جَوقَتا الشُّكرِ وَالتَّسبِيحِ مَكانَهُما فِي بَيْتِ اللهِ. كَما فَعَلَ الشَّيءَ نَفْسَهُ النِّصْفُ الآخَرُ مِنَ المَسؤُولِينَ عَنْ شَعبِي.

41 a nd the priests, Eliakim, Maaseiah, Minjamin, Michaiah, Elioenai, Zechariah, and Hananiah, with trumpets;

وَكَذَلِكَ الكَهَنَةُ ألْياقِيمُ وَمَعْسِيا وَمِنْيامِينُ وَمِيْخا وَأليُوعِينايُ وَزَكَرِيّا وَحَنَنْيا وَمَعَهُمْ أبواقُهُمْ

42 a lso Maaseiah, Shemaiah, Eleazar, Uzzi, Jehohanan, Malchijah, Elam, and Ezer. The singers sang loudly with Jezrahiah the director.

وَأيضاً مَعْسِيا وَشَمَعْيا وَألِيعازارُ وَعُزِّي وَيَهُوحانانُ وَمَلْكِيّا وَعِيلامُ وَعازَرُ. وَرَنَّمَ المُرَنِّمُونَ يَقُودُهُمْ يَزرَحيا.

43 A lso that day they offered great sacrifices, and rejoiced, for God had made them rejoice with great joy; the women and the children also rejoiced, so that the joy of Jerusalem was heard afar off. Temple Responsibilities

وَقَدَّمُوا فِي ذَلِكَ اليَومِ ذَبائِحَ كَثِيرَةً، وَابتَهَجُوا لِأنَّ اللهَ أعطاهُمْ فَرَحاً عَظِيماً، وَاحتَفَلَ حَتَّى النِّساءُ وَالأطفالُ. وَسَمِعَ النّاسُ فَرَحَ القُدْسِ وَاحتِفالَها عَنْ بُعدٍ.

44 A nd at the same time some were appointed over the rooms of the storehouse for the offerings, the firstfruits, and the tithes, to gather into them from the fields of the cities the portions specified by the Law for the priests and Levites; for Judah rejoiced over the priests and Levites who ministered.

كَما تَمَّ تَعِيينُ مَسْؤُولِينَ عَنِ المَخازِنِ لِيُشرِفُوا عَلَى التَّقْدِماتِ وَأوَّلِ الثِّمارِ وَالأعشارِ فِي ذَلِكَ اليَوْمِ، وَيَجمَعُوا حِصَصَ الكَهَنَةِ وَالَّلاوِيِّينَ مِنْ حُقُولِ المَدِينَةِ، كَما تَقُولُ الشَّرِيعَةُ. فَقَدْ رَضِيَ الشَّعبُ اليَهُودِيُّ عَنِ الكَهَنَةِ وَالَّلاوِيِّينَ الَّذِينَ خَدَمُوا.

45 B oth the singers and the gatekeepers kept the charge of their God and the charge of the purification, according to the command of David and Solomon his son.

فَقَدْ قامُوا بِخِدْمَةِ إلَهِهِمْ، وَخِدمَةِ التَّطهِيرِ، كَما قامَ المُرَنِّمُونَ وَحُرّاسُ الأبوابِ بِخِدمَتِهِمْ كَما أمَرَ داوُدُ وَابنُهُ سُلَيْمانَ.

46 F or in the days of David and Asaph of old there were chiefs of the singers, and songs of praise and thanksgiving to God.

فَفِي زَمَنِ داوُدَ وَآسافَ قَدِيماً، كانَ هُناكَ قادَةٌ لِلمُرَنِّمِينَ وَمَسؤُولُونَ عَنْ قِيادَةِ تَرانِيمِ التَّسبِيحِ وَالشُّكْرِ للهِ.

47 I n the days of Zerubbabel and in the days of Nehemiah all Israel gave the portions for the singers and the gatekeepers, a portion for each day. They also consecrated holy things for the Levites, and the Levites consecrated them for the children of Aaron.

وَهَكَذا فِي زَمَنِ زَرُبّابِلَ وَزَمَنِ نَحَمْيا كانَ كُلُّ شَعبِ اللهِ يُعطُونَ حِصَصاً لِلمُرَنِّمِينَ وَحُرّاسِ الأبوابِ، كَما تَقتَضِي الحاجَةُ كُلَّ يَومٍ بِيَوْمِهِ. وَخَصَّصُوا أيضاً حِصَصاً لِلّاوِيِّينَ، وَخَصَّصَ الَّلاوِيُّونَ مِنْ حِصَصِهِمْ حِصَّةَ نَسلِ هارُونَ.
