1 N ow, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you,

أمّا بِالنِّسبَةِ لِعَودَةِ رَبِّنا يَسُوعَ المَسِيحِ وَالتِقائِنا مَعاً بِهِ، فَنَرجُوا مِنكُمْ أيُّها الإخوَةُ

2 n ot to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ had come.

أنْ لا تَفقِدُوا فَجأةً إدراكَكُمُ السَّلِيمَ حَولَ هَذا الأمرِ، أوْ تَنزَعِجُوا بِسَبَبِ نُبُوَّةٍ أوْ تَعلِيمٍ أوْ رِسالَةٍ تُنسَبُ إلَينا، وَتَدَّعِي أنَّ يَومَ الرَّبِّ قَدْ جاءَ بِالفِعلِ.

3 L et no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition,

احتَرِسُوا مِنْ أنْ يَخدَعَكُمْ أحَدٌ بِأيَّةِ طَرِيقَةٍ كانَتْ. أقُولُ هَذا لِأنَّ يَومَ الرَّبِّ لَنْ يَأتِيَ قَبلَ أنْ يَأْتِيَ التَّمَرُّدُ الكَبِيْرُ أوَّلاً، وَيَظهَرَ «رَجُلُ المَعصِيَةِ،»

4 w ho opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.

الَّذِي سَيُقاوِمُ كُلَّ ما يُشارُ إلَيهِ عَلَى أنَّهُ «إلَهٌ» أوْ «مَعبُودٌ،» وَيَجعَلُ نَفسَهُ فَوقَها كُلِّها. بَلْ إنَّهُ سَيَدخُلُ إلَى هَيكَلِ اللهِ وَيَجلِسُ هُناكَ مُدَّعِياً أنَّهُ هُوَ نَفسُهُ اللهَ!

5 D o you not remember that when I was still with you I told you these things?

ألا تَذكُرُونَ أنِّي كُنتُ أقُولُ لَكُمْ هَذا وَأنا بَعدُ مَعَكُمْ؟

6 A nd now you know what is restraining, that he may be revealed in his own time.

وَهَكَذا فَإنَّكُمْ تَعرِفُونَ ما الَّذِي يَمنَعُهُ الآنَ مِنَ الظُّهُورِ، حَيثُ سَيَظهَرُ فِي الوَقتِ المُعَيَّنِ.

7 F or the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way.

لِأنَّ القُوَّةَ الخَفِيَّةَ للمَعصِيَةِ تَعمَلُ بِالفِعلِ، لَكِنِ الَّذِي يَمنَعُهُ الآنَ سَيُواصِلُ مَنعَهُ إلَى أنْ يُرفَعَ هَذا المانِعُ.

8 A nd then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming.

حِينَئِذٍ، سَيَظهَرُ ذَلِكَ العاصِي، وَسَيُبِيدُهُ الرَّبُّ يَسُوعُ بِنَفخَةٍ مِنْ فَمِهِ، وَيُدَمِّرُهُ عِندَما يَعُودُ فِي ظُهُورِهِ المَجِيدِ.

9 T he coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders,

وَسَيَكُونُ مَجِيئُهُ بِقُوَّةِ إبلِيسَ، مَصحُوباً بِقُوَّةٍ عَظِيمَةٍ وَبِبَراهينَ وَعَجائِبَ كاذِبَةٍ.

10 a nd with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

سَيَستَخدِمُ كُلَّ أشكالِ الشَّرِّ المُخادِعِ، لِيَخدَعَ السّائِرِيْنَ عَلَى طَرِيقِ الهَلاكِ. وَسَيَهلِكُونَ لِأنَّهُمْ رَفَضُوا أنْ يُحِبُّوا الحَقَّ الَّذِي يُخَلِّصُهُمْ.

11 A nd for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie,

وَلِهَذا السَّبَبِ، يُرسِلُ اللهُ إلَيْهِمْ قُوَّةَ الضَّلالِ لِتَعمَلَ فِيهِمْ، لِكَي يُصَدِّقُوا الخِداعَ.

12 t hat they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness. Stand Fast

وَسَيَدِينُ اللهُ كُلَّ الَّذِينَ لا يُصَدِّقُونَ الحَقَّ بَلْ يَتَلَذَّذُونَ بِالإثمِ. مُختارُونَ لِلخَلاص

13 B ut we are bound to give thanks to God always for you, brethren beloved by the Lord, because God from the beginning chose you for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth,

وَأمّا نَحنُ فَيَنبَغي أنْ نَشكُرَ اللهَ دائِماً مِنْ أجلِكُمْ أيُّها الإخوَةُ المَحبُوبُونَ مِنَ الرَّبِّ. يَنبَغي أنْ نَشكُرَ اللهَ لِأنَّهُ اختارَكُمْ مِنَ البَدءِ لِكَي تَخلُصُوا، وَذَلِكَ بِعَمَلِ الرُّوحِ القُدُسِ الَّذِي يُقَدِّسُكُمْ، وَبِإيمانِكُمْ أنتُمْ بِالحَقِّ.

14 t o which He called you by our gospel, for the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

دَعاكُمُ اللهُ إلَى هَذا الخَلاصِ بِواسِطَةِ البِشارَةِ الَّتِي بَشَّرناكُمْ بِها، لِكَي تَحصُلُوا عَلَى المَجدِ الَّذِي يَخُصُّ رَبَّنا يَسُوعَ المَسِيحِ.

15 T herefore, brethren, stand fast and hold the traditions which you were taught, whether by word or our epistle.

فَاثبُتُوا أيُّها الإخوَةُ، وَتَمَسَّكُوا بِالتَّقالِيدِ الَّتِي تَسَلَّمتُمُوها مِنّا، سَواءٌ بِالكَلامِ أمْ بِرِسالَتِنا.

16 N ow may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, and our God and Father, who has loved us and given us everlasting consolation and good hope by grace,

فَلَيتَ الرَّبَّ يَسُوعَ المَسِيحَ نَفسَهُ، وَاللهَ أبانا الَّذِي أظهَرَ لَنا مَحَبَّتَهُ، وَأعطانا بِنِعمَتِهِ عَزاءً أبَدِيّاً وَرَجاءً راسِخاً،

17 c omfort your hearts and establish you in every good word and work.

أنْ يُعَزِّيكُمْ وَيُقَوِّيكُمْ فِي كُلِّ شَيءٍ صالِحٍ تَعمَلُونَهُ وَتَقُولُونَهُ.
