1 T hen the people of the land took Jehoahaz the son of Josiah, and made him king in his father’s place in Jerusalem.
وَنَصَّبَ شَعبُ يَهُوذا يَهُوآحازَ بْنَ يُوشيّا مَلِكاً عَلَيهِمْ فِي القُدسِ عِوَضاً عَنْ أبِيهِ.
2 J ehoahaz was twenty-three years old when he became king, and he reigned three months in Jerusalem.
كانَ يَهُوآحازُ فِي الثّالِثَةِ وَالعِشْرِينَ مِنْ عُمْرِهِ عِنْدَما تَوَلَّى الحُكْمَ. وَحَكَمَ ثَلاثَةَ شُهُورٍ فِي القُدْسِ.
3 N ow the king of Egypt deposed him at Jerusalem; and he imposed on the land a tribute of one hundred talents of silver and a talent of gold.
وَبَعدَ ذَلِكَ خَلَعَهُ نَخُوُ مَلِكُ مِصْرَ عَنِ العَرشِ. وَفَرَضَ جِزيَةً عَلَى يَهُوذا مِقدارُها مِئَةُ قِنْطارٍ مِنَ الفِضَّةِ، وَقِنْطارٌ واحِدٌ مِنَ الذَّهَبِ.
4 T hen the king of Egypt made Jehoahaz’s brother Eliakim king over Judah and Jerusalem, and changed his name to Jehoiakim. And Necho took Jehoahaz his brother and carried him off to Egypt. The Reign and Captivity of Jehoiakim
وَنَصَّبَ نَخُوُ ألِياقيمَ أخا يُوآحازَ مَلِكاً عَلَى يَهُوذا وَالقُدسِ بَدَلاً مِنهُ. ثُمَّ غَيَّرَ نَخُوُ اسْمَ ألِياقِيمَ إلَى يَهُوياقِيمَ. أمّا يَهُوآحازُ، فَأسَرَهُ نَخُوُ وَأخَذَهُ إلَى مِصْرَ. يَهُوياقِيمُ مَلِكُ يَهُوذا
5 J ehoiakim was twenty-five years old when he became king, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem. And he did evil in the sight of the Lord his God.
كانَ يَهُوياقِيمُ فِي الخامِسَةِ وَالعِشْرِينَ مِنْ عُمْرِهِ عِنْدَما تَوَلَّى الحُكْمَ. وَحَكَمَ إحدَى عَشْرَةَ سَنَةً فِي القُدْسِ. وَفَعَلَ يَهُوياقِيمُ الشَّرَّ أمامَ اللهِ.
6 N ebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up against him, and bound him in bronze fetters to carry him off to Babylon.
وَهاجَمَ نَبُوخَذْناصَّرُ مَلِكُ بابِلَ يَهُوذا، وَأسَرَ يَهُوياقِيمَ وَقَيَّدَهُ بِسَلاسِلَ نُحاسيَّةٍ، ثُمَّ أخَذَهُ إلَى بابِلَ.
7 N ebuchadnezzar also carried off some of the articles from the house of the Lord to Babylon, and put them in his temple at Babylon.
وَأخَذَ نَبُوخَذْناصَّرُ بَعضَ الآنِيَةِ مِنْ بَيتِ اللهِ ، وَحَمَلَها إلَى بابِلَ وَوَضَعَها فِي هَيكَلِهِ.
8 N ow the rest of the acts of Jehoiakim, the abominations which he did, and what was found against him, indeed they are written in the book of the kings of Israel and Judah. Then Jehoiachin his son reigned in his place. The Reign and Captivity of Jehoiachin
أمّا بَقِيَّةُ أعْمالِ يَهُوياقِيمُ، وَخَطاياهُ البَغِيضَةُ الَّتِي ارتَكَبَها، وَكُلُّ عُيُوبِهِ، فَهِيَ مُدَوَّنَةٌ فِي كِتابِ تارِيخِ مُلُوكِ إسْرائِيلَ وَيَهُوذا. وَخَلَفَهُ عَلَى العَرشِ ابْنُهُ يَهُوياكِينُ. يَهُوياكِينُ مَلِكُ يَهُوذا
9 J ehoiachin was eight years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem three months and ten days. And he did evil in the sight of the Lord.
كانَ يَهُوياكِينُ فِي الثّامِنَةَ عَشْرَةَ مِنْ عُمْرِهِ عِندَما تَوَلَّى الحُكْمَ. وَحَكَمَ ثَلاثَةَ أشْهُرٍوَعَشْرَةَ أيّامٍ فِي القُدْسِ. وَفَعَلَ يَهُوياكينُ الشَّرَّ أمامَ اللهِ.
10 A t the turn of the year King Nebuchadnezzar summoned him and took him to Babylon, with the costly articles from the house of the Lord, and made Zedekiah, Jehoiakim’s brother, king over Judah and Jerusalem. Zedekiah Reigns in Judah
وَفِي الرَّبِيعِ أرسَلَ المَلِكُ نَبُوخَذْناصَّرُ بَعْضَ خُدّامِهِ إلَى يَهُوياكِينَ. فَأخَذُوا يَهُوياكِينَ وَبَعْضَ الكُنُوزِ الثَّمِينَةِ مِنْ بَيتِ اللهِ إلَى بابِلَ. وَنَصَّبَ نَبُوخَذْناصَّرُ صِدْقِيّا، قَرِيبَ يَهُوياكِينَ، مَلِكاً عَلَى يَهُوذا وَالقُدسِ. صِدْقِيّا مَلِكُ يَهُوذا
11 Z edekiah was twenty-one years old when he became king, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem.
وَكانَ صِدْقِيّا فِي الحادِيَةِ وَالعِشْرِينَ مِنْ عُمْرِهِ عِنْدَما تَوَلَّى الحُكْمَ. وَحَكَمَ إحدَى عَشْرَةَ سَنَةً فِي مَدينَةِ القُدْسِ.
12 H e did evil in the sight of the Lord his God, and did not humble himself before Jeremiah the prophet, who spoke from the mouth of the Lord.
وَفَعَلَ الشَّرَّ أمامَ إلَهِهِ. وَلَمْ يَتَواضَعْ أمامَ النَّبِيِّ إرْمِيا الَّذِي تَكَلَّمَ لَهُ مِنْ فَمِ اللهِ. دَمارُ القُدس
13 A nd he also rebelled against King Nebuchadnezzar, who had made him swear an oath by God; but he stiffened his neck and hardened his heart against turning to the Lord God of Israel.
وَتَمَرَّدَ صِدْقِيّا عَلَى المَلِكِ نَبُوخَذْناصَّرَ الَّذِي استَحلَفَهُ بِاللهِ أنْ يَكُونَ وَفيّاً لَهُ. فَقَسَّى رَقَبَتَهُ وَقَلْبَهُ رافِضاً أنْ يَتُوبَ إلَى اللهِ ، إلَهِ إسْرائِيلَ.
14 M oreover all the leaders of the priests and the people transgressed more and more, according to all the abominations of the nations, and defiled the house of the Lord which He had consecrated in Jerusalem. The Fall of Jerusalem
وَقَدْ وَصَلَ تَأْثِيرُهُ السَّيِّئُ حَتَّى إلَى رُؤَساءِ الكَهَنَةِ وَقادَةِ شَعبِ يَهُوذا. إذْ تَمادَى هَؤُلاءِ فِي الخَطايا، وَصارُوا أكثَرَ بُعداً عَنِ اللهِ. وَقَلَّدُوا الأُمَمَ الأُخرَى فِي مُمارَساتِها البَغِيضَةِ، وَنَجَّسُوا بَيتَ اللهِ الَّذِي قَدَّسَهُ فِي القُدسِ.
15 A nd the Lord God of their fathers sent warnings to them by His messengers, rising up early and sending them, because He had compassion on His people and on His dwelling place.
فَأرسَلَ اللهُ ، إلَهُ آبائِهِمْ، أنبِياءَ واحِداً بَعدَ الآخَرِ لإنذارِ شَعبِهِ. فَقَدْ أشفَقَ اللهُ عَلَيهِمْ وَعَلَى مَكَانِ سُكْناهُ.
16 B ut they mocked the messengers of God, despised His words, and scoffed at His prophets, until the wrath of the Lord arose against His people, till there was no remedy.
لَكِنَّهُمْ سَخِرُوا بِرُسُلِ اللهِ، وَاسْتَهانُوا بِكَلامِهِ، وهزَأُوا بِأنْبِيائِهِ، فَازْدادَ غَضَبُ اللهِ عَلَى الشَّعبِ حَتَّى لَمْ يَعُدْ هُناكَ سَبيلٌ للنَّجاةِ.
17 T herefore He brought against them the king of the Chaldeans, who killed their young men with the sword in the house of their sanctuary, and had no compassion on young man or virgin, on the aged or the weak; He gave them all into his hand.
فَحَرَّكَ اللهُ مَلِكَ بابِلَ لِلهُجُومِ عَلَى شَعبِ يَهُوذا وَالقُدسِ. فَقَتَلَ المَلِكُ الفِتيانَ حَتَّى وَهُمْ فِي الهَيكَلِ. وَلَمْ يُشفِقْ عَلَى شَعبِ يَهُوذا وَالقُدْسِ. قَتَلَ الكِبارَ وَالصّغارَ، الرِّجالَ وَالنِّساءَ، المَرضَى وَالأصحّاءَ. فَقَدْ سَمَحَ اللهُ لِنَبُوخَذْناصَّرَ بِمُعاقَبَة يَهُوذا وَالقُدسِ.
18 A nd all the articles from the house of God, great and small, the treasures of the house of the Lord, and the treasures of the king and of his leaders, all these he took to Babylon.
وَحَمَلَ نَبُوخَذْناصَّرُ كُلَّ آنِيَةِ بَيتِ اللهِ جَميعَها إلَى بابِلَ، وَأخَذَ كُنُوزَ بَيتِ اللهِ ، وَكُنُوزَ المَلِكِ، وَكُنُوزَ المَسؤُولِينَ الكِبار لَدَى المَلِكِ.
19 T hen they burned the house of God, broke down the wall of Jerusalem, burned all its palaces with fire, and destroyed all its precious possessions.
وَأحْرَقَ نَبُوخَذْناصَّرُ وَجَيشُهُ بَيتَ اللهِ، وَهَدَمُوا سُورَ القُدسِ، وَأحْرَقُوا قُصُورَها وَدَمَّرُوا كُلَّ ثَمِينٍ فِيها.
20 A nd those who escaped from the sword he carried away to Babylon, where they became servants to him and his sons until the rule of the kingdom of Persia,
وَأخَذَ نَبُوخَذْناصَّرُ الشَّعبَ الَّذِينَ ظَلُّوا عَلَى قَيدِ الحَياةِ إلَى بابِلَ، فَصارُوا عَبِيداً لَهُ وَلأبْنائِهِ إلَى أنْ تَأسَّسَتِ المَملَكَةُ الفارِسِيَّةُ.
21 t o fulfill the word of the Lord by the mouth of Jeremiah, until the land had enjoyed her Sabbaths. As long as she lay desolate she kept Sabbath, to fulfill seventy years. The Proclamation of Cyrus
وَهَكَذا تَحَقَّقَتْ كُلُّ النُبُوَّاتِ الَّتِي تَكَلَّمَ بِها اللهُ عَلَى فَمِ النَّبِيِّ إرْمِيا: «سَيَصِيرُ هَذا المَكانُ قَفْراً خالياً لِمَدَّةِ سَبعِينَ سَنَةً، تَعوِيضاً عَنْ سُبُوتِ الرّاحَةِ الَّتِي أهمَلَها الشَّعبُ.»
22 N ow in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the Lord by the mouth of Jeremiah might be fulfilled, the Lord stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, so that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and also put it in writing, saying,
وَفي السَّنَةِ الأُولَى مِنْ حُكمِ كُورَشَ مَلِكِ فارِسَ، جَعَلَ اللهُ كُورَشَ يُطلِقُ نِداءً خاصّاً. وَقَدْ جاءَ نِداؤُهُ هَذا مِنْ أجلِ تَحقِيقِ النُبُوَّاتِ الَّتِي تَكَلَّمَ بِها اللهُ عَلَى فَمِ النَّبِيّ إرْمِيا. فَأرسَلَ كُورَشُ رُسُلاً فِي كُلِّ مَكانٍ مِنْ مَملَكَتِهِ يَحمِلُونَ رِسالَةً منهُ. كانَ مُحْتَوَى الرِّسالَةِ:
23 T hus says Cyrus king of Persia: All the kingdoms of the earth the Lord God of heaven has given me. And He has commanded me to build Him a house at Jerusalem which is in Judah. Who is among you of all His people? May the Lord his God be with him, and let him go up!
يَقُولُ كُورَشُ مَلكُ فارِسَ: «جَعَلَنِي اللهُ ، إلَهُ السَّماءِ، مَلِكاً عَلَى كُلِّ الأرْضِ. وَقَدْ أوكَلَ إلَيَّ مَسؤُولِيَّةَ بناءِ بَيْتٍ لَهُ فِي القُدسِ، فِي مِنْطَقَةِ يَهُوذا. فَكُلُّ مَنْ يُريدُ مِنْكُمْ أيُّها الشَّعبُ أنْ يَذْهَبَ إلَى مَدينَةِ القُدْسِ، فَلْيَذْهَبْ، وَلْيَكُنِ إلَهُهُ مَعَهُ.»
