1 B less, O my soul, Jehovah! Jehovah, my God, Thou hast been very great, Honour and majesty Thou hast put on.
Bless the Lord, O my soul! O Lord my God, You are very great; You are clothed with splendor and majesty,
2 C overing himself light as a garment, Stretching out the heavens as a curtain,
Covering Yourself with light as with a cloak, Stretching out heaven like a tent curtain.
3 W ho is laying the beam of His upper chambers in the waters, Who is making thick clouds His chariot, Who is walking on wings of wind,
He lays the beams of His upper chambers in the waters; He makes the clouds His chariot; He walks upon the wings of the wind;
4 M aking His messengers -- the winds, His ministers -- the flaming fire.

5 H e hath founded earth on its bases, It is not moved to the age and for ever.
He established the earth upon its foundations, So that it will not totter forever and ever.
6 T he abyss! as with clothing Thou hast covered it, Above hills do waters stand.
You covered it with the deep as with a garment; The waters were standing above the mountains.
7 F rom Thy rebuke they flee, From the voice of Thy thunder haste away.
At Your rebuke they fled, At the sound of Your thunder they hurried away.
8 T hey go up hills -- they go down valleys, Unto a place Thou hast founded for them.
The mountains rose; the valleys sank down To the place which You established for them.
9 A border Thou hast set, they pass not over, They turn not back to cover the earth.
You set a boundary that they may not pass over, So that they will not return to cover the earth.
10 W ho is sending forth fountains in valleys, Between hills they go on.
He sends forth springs in the valleys; They flow between the mountains;
11 T hey water every beast of the field, Wild asses break their thirst.
They give drink to every beast of the field; The wild donkeys quench their thirst.
12 B y them the fowl of the heavens doth dwell, From between the branches They give forth the voice.
Beside them the birds of the heavens dwell; They lift up their voices among the branches.
13 W atering hills from His upper chambers, From the fruit of Thy works is the earth satisfied.
He waters the mountains from His upper chambers; The earth is satisfied with the fruit of His works.
14 C ausing grass to spring up for cattle, And herb for the service of man, To bring forth bread from the earth,
He causes the grass to grow for the cattle, And vegetation for the labor of man, So that he may bring forth food from the earth,
15 A nd wine -- it rejoiceth the heart of man, To cause the face to shine from oil, And bread -- the heart of man it supporteth.
And wine which makes man’s heart glad, So that he may make his face glisten with oil, And food which sustains man’s heart.
16 S atisfied the trees of Jehovah, Cedars of Lebanon that He hath planted,
The trees of the Lord drink their fill, The cedars of Lebanon which He planted,
17 W here birds do make nests, The stork -- the firs her house.
Where the birds build their nests, And the stork, whose home is the fir trees.
18 T he high hills for wild goats, Rocks a refuge for conies,
The high mountains are for the wild goats; The cliffs are a refuge for the shephanim.
19 H e made the moon for seasons, The sun hath known his place of entrance.
He made the moon for the seasons; The sun knows the place of its setting.
20 T hou settest darkness, and it is night, In it doth every beast of the forest creep.
You appoint darkness and it becomes night, In which all the beasts of the forest prowl about.
21 T he young lions are roaring for prey, And to seek from God their food.
The young lions roar after their prey And seek their food from God.
22 T he sun riseth, they are gathered, And in their dens they crouch.
When the sun rises they withdraw And lie down in their dens.
23 M an goeth forth to his work, And to his service -- till evening.
Man goes forth to his work And to his labor until evening.
24 H ow many have been Thy works, O Jehovah, All of them in wisdom Thou hast made, Full is the earth of thy possessions.
O Lord, how many are Your works! In wisdom You have made them all; The earth is full of Your possessions.
25 T his, the sea, great and broad of sides, There moving things -- innumerable, Living creatures -- small with great.
There is the sea, great and broad, In which are swarms without number, Animals both small and great.
26 T here do ships go: leviathan, That Thou hast formed to play in it.
There the ships move along, And Leviathan, which You have formed to sport in it.
27 A ll of them unto Thee do look, To give their food in its season.
They all wait for You To give them their food in due season.
28 T hou dost give to them -- they gather, Thou dost open Thy hand -- they satisfied good.
You give to them, they gather it up; You open Your hand, they are satisfied with good.
29 T hou hidest Thy face -- they are troubled, Thou gatherest their spirit -- they expire, And unto their dust they turn back.
You hide Your face, they are dismayed; You take away their spirit, they expire And return to their dust.
30 T hou sendest out Thy Spirit, they are created, And Thou renewest the face of the ground.
You send forth Your Spirit, they are created; And You renew the face of the ground.
31 T he honour of Jehovah is to the age, Jehovah rejoiceth in His works,
Let the glory of the Lord endure forever; Let the Lord be glad in His works;
32 W ho is looking to earth, and it trembleth, He cometh against hills, and they smoke.
He looks at the earth, and it trembles; He touches the mountains, and they smoke.
33 I sing to Jehovah during my life, I sing praise to my God while I exist.
I will sing to the Lord as long as I live; I will sing praise to my God while I have my being.
34 S weet is my meditation on Him, I -- I do rejoice in Jehovah.
Let my meditation be pleasing to Him; As for me, I shall be glad in the Lord.
35 C onsumed are sinners from the earth, And the wicked are no more. Bless, O my soul, Jehovah. Praise ye Jehovah!
