1 A Song of the Ascents. Those trusting in Jehovah as Mount Zion, It is not moved -- to the age it abideth.

Those who trust in the Lord Are as Mount Zion, which cannot be moved but abides forever.

2 J erusalem! mountains round about her, And Jehovah round about His people, From henceforth even unto the age.

As the mountains surround Jerusalem, So the Lord surrounds His people From this time forth and forever.

3 F or the rod of wickedness resteth not On the lot of the righteous, That the righteous put not forth on iniquity their hands.

For the scepter of wickedness shall not rest upon the land of the righteous, So that the righteous will not put forth their hands to do wrong.

4 D o good, O Jehovah, to the good, And to the upright in their hearts.

Do good, O Lord, to those who are good And to those who are upright in their hearts.

5 A s to those turning their crooked ways, Jehovah causeth them to go with workers of iniquity. Peace on Israel!

But as for those who turn aside to their crooked ways, The Lord will lead them away with the doers of iniquity. Peace be upon Israel.
