1 S o then, my brethren, beloved and longed for, my joy and crown, so stand ye in the Lord, beloved.
Therefore, my beloved brethren whom I long to see, my joy and crown, in this way stand firm in the Lord, my beloved.
2 E uodia I exhort, and Syntyche I exhort, to be of the same mind in the Lord;
I urge Euodia and I urge Syntyche to live in harmony in the Lord.
3 a nd I ask also thee, genuine yoke-fellow, be assisting those women who in the good news did strive along with me, with Clement also, and the others, my fellow-workers, whose names in the book of life.
Indeed, true companion, I ask you also to help these women who have shared my struggle in the cause of the gospel, together with Clement also and the rest of my fellow workers, whose names are in the book of life.
4 R ejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice;
Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice!
5 l et your forbearance be known to all men; the Lord near;
Let your gentle spirit be known to all men. The Lord is near.
6 f or nothing be anxious, but in everything by prayer, and by supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known unto God;
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
7 a nd the peace of God, that is surpassing all understanding, shall guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.
And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
8 A s to the rest, brethren, as many things as are true, as many as grave, as many as righteous, as many as pure, as many as lovely, as many as of good report, if any worthiness, and if any praise, these things think upon;
Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things.
9 t he things that also ye did learn, and receive, and hear, and saw in me, those do, and the God of the peace shall be with you.
The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you. God’s Provisions
10 A nd I rejoiced in the Lord greatly, that now at length ye flourished again in caring for me, for which also ye were caring, and lacked opportunity;
But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly, that now at last you have revived your concern for me; indeed, you were concerned before, but you lacked opportunity.
11 n ot that in respect of want I say, for I did learn in the things in which I am -- to be content;
Not that I speak from want, for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am.
12 I have known both to be abased, and I have known to abound; in everything and in all things I have been initiated, both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to be in want.
I know how to get along with humble means, and I also know how to live in prosperity; in any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need.
13 F or all things I have strength, in Christ's strengthening me;
I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.
14 b ut ye did well, having communicated with my tribulation;
Nevertheless, you have done well to share with me in my affliction.
15 a nd ye have known, even ye Philippians, that in the beginning of the good news when I went forth from Macedonia, no assembly did communicate with me in regard to giving and receiving except ye only;
You yourselves also know, Philippians, that at the first preaching of the gospel, after I left Macedonia, no church shared with me in the matter of giving and receiving but you alone;
16 b ecause also in Thessalonica, both once and again to my need ye sent;
for even in Thessalonica you sent a gift more than once for my needs.
17 n ot that I seek after the gift, but I seek after the fruit that is overflowing to your account;
Not that I seek the gift itself, but I seek for the profit which increases to your account.
18 a nd I have all things, and abound; I am filled, having received from Epaphroditus the things from you -- an odour of a sweet smell -- a sacrifice acceptable, well-pleasing to God:
But I have received everything in full and have an abundance; I am amply supplied, having received from Epaphroditus what you have sent, a fragrant aroma, an acceptable sacrifice, well-pleasing to God.
19 a nd my God shall supply all your need, according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus;
And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
20 a nd to God, even our Father, the glory -- to the ages of the ages. Amen.
Now to our God and Father be the glory forever and ever. Amen.
21 S alute ye every saint in Christ Jesus; there salute you the brethren with me;
Greet every saint in Christ Jesus. The brethren who are with me greet you.
22 t here salute you all the saints, and specially those of Caesar's house;
All the saints greet you, especially those of Caesar’s household.
23 t he grace of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.
The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit.
