Psalm 115 ~ Psalm 115

picture

Not to us, O Lord, not to us, But to Your name give glory Because of Your lovingkindness, because of Your truth.

2 K ia mea koia nga tauiwi: Kei hea ianei to ratou Atua?

Why should the nations say, “ Where, now, is their God?”

3 K ei te rangi ia to matou Atua; kua meatia e ia nga mea katoa i pai ai ia.

But our God is in the heavens; He does whatever He pleases.

4 H e hiriwa a ratou whakapakoko, he koura, he mahi na te ringa tangata.

Their idols are silver and gold, The work of man’s hands.

5 H e mangai o ratou, a kahore e korero: he kanohi o ratou, a kahore e kite:

They have mouths, but they cannot speak; They have eyes, but they cannot see;

6 H e taringa o ratou, a kahore e rongo: he ihu o ratou, a kahore e hongi:

They have ears, but they cannot hear; They have noses, but they cannot smell;

7 H e ringa o ratou, a kahore e whawha: he waewae o ratou, a kahore e haere: kahore hoki o ratou korokoro e korero.

They have hands, but they cannot feel; They have feet, but they cannot walk; They cannot make a sound with their throat.

Those who make them will become like them, Everyone who trusts in them.

9 E Iharaira, whakawhirinaki ki a Ihowa: ko ia to ratou awhina, to ratou whakangungu rakau.

O Israel, trust in the Lord; He is their help and their shield.

O house of Aaron, trust in the Lord; He is their help and their shield.

11 E te hunga e wehi ana i a Ihowa, whakawhirinaki ki a Ihowa: ko ia to ratou awhina, to ratou whakangungu rakau.

You who fear the Lord, trust in the Lord; He is their help and their shield.

The Lord has been mindful of us; He will bless us; He will bless the house of Israel; He will bless the house of Aaron.

13 K a manaakitia e ia te hunga e wehi ana ki a Ihowa, te iti, te rahi.

He will bless those who fear the Lord, The small together with the great.

14 K a tapiritia ano e Ihowa ki a koutou, ki a koutou tahi ko a koutou tamariki.

May the Lord give you increase, You and your children.

May you be blessed of the Lord, Maker of heaven and earth.

16 K o nga rangi, he rangi no Ihowa; ko te whenua ia, he mea homai nana ki nga tama a te tangata.

The heavens are the heavens of the Lord, But the earth He has given to the sons of men.

The dead do not praise the Lord, Nor do any who go down into silence;

18 K o matou ia ka whakapai ki a Ihowa aianei a ake ake. Whakamoemititia a Ihowa.

But as for us, we will bless the Lord From this time forth and forever. Praise the Lord!
