1 F irst of all, I ask you to pray much for all men and to give thanks for them.

First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men,

2 P ray for kings and all others who are in power over us so we might live quiet God-like lives in peace.

for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity.

3 I t is good when you pray like this. It pleases God Who is the One Who saves.

This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior,

4 H e wants all people to be saved from the punishment of sin. He wants them to come to know the truth.

who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

5 T here is one God. There is one Man standing between God and men. That Man is Christ Jesus.

For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,

6 H e gave His life for all men so they could go free and not be held by the power of sin. God made this known to the world at the right time.

who gave Himself as a ransom for all, the testimony given at the proper time.

7 T his is why I was chosen to be a teacher and a missionary. I am to teach faith and truth to the people who do not know God. I am not lying but telling the truth. Women in the Church

For this I was appointed a preacher and an apostle ( I am telling the truth, I am not lying) as a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth.

8 I want men everywhere to pray. They should lift up holy hands as they pray. They should not be angry or argue.

Therefore I want the men in every place to pray, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and dissension. Women Instructed

9 C hristian women should not be dressed in the kind of clothes and their hair should not be combed in a way that will make people look at them. They should not wear much gold or pearls or clothes that cost much money.

Likewise, I want women to adorn themselves with proper clothing, modestly and discreetly, not with braided hair and gold or pearls or costly garments,

10 I nstead of these things, Christian women should be known for doing good things and living good lives.

but rather by means of good works, as is proper for women making a claim to godliness.

11 W omen should be quiet when they learn. They should listen to what men have to say.

A woman must quietly receive instruction with entire submissiveness.

12 I never let women teach men or be leaders over men. They should be quiet.

But I do not allow a woman to teach or exercise authority over a man, but to remain quiet.

13 A dam was made first, then Eve.

For it was Adam who was first created, and then Eve.

14 A dam was not fooled by Satan; it was the woman who was fooled and sinned.

And it was not Adam who was deceived, but the woman being deceived, fell into transgression.

15 B ut women will be saved through the giving of birth to children if they keep on in faith and live loving and holy lives.

But women will be preserved through the bearing of children if they continue in faith and love and sanctity with self-restraint.
