1 T he Lord said to Moses,

Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,

2 Tell the people of Israel to take a gift for Me. Receive the gift for Me from every person whose heart makes him willing.

“ Tell the sons of Israel to raise a contribution for Me; from every man whose heart moves him you shall raise My contribution.

3 T his is the gift you are to receive from them: Gold, silver and brass,

This is the contribution which you are to raise from them: gold, silver and bronze,

4 b lue, purple and red cloth, fine linen, goat hair,

blue, purple and scarlet material, fine linen, goat hair,

5 r ams’ skins made red, badgers’ skins, acacia wood,

rams’ skins dyed red, porpoise skins, acacia wood,

6 l amp oil, spices for the oil used in worship and for perfumes,

oil for lighting, spices for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense,

7 o nyx stones, and stones to be set in the clothing of the religious leaders.

onyx stones and setting stones for the ephod and for the breastpiece.

8 L et them make a holy place for Me, so I may live among them.

Let them construct a sanctuary for Me, that I may dwell among them.

9 M ake the meeting tent and all that is in it like the plans I am going to show you. The Special Box of the Agreement

According to all that I am going to show you, as the pattern of the tabernacle and the pattern of all its furniture, just so you shall construct it. Ark of the Covenant

10 They will make a special box of acacia wood, two and a half cubits long, one and a half cubits wide, and one and a half cubits tall.

“ They shall construct an ark of acacia wood two and a half cubits long, and one and a half cubits wide, and one and a half cubits high.

11 C over it inside and out with pure gold. And make a piece of gold to put on it all around.

You shall overlay it with pure gold, inside and out you shall overlay it, and you shall make a gold molding around it.

12 M ake four gold rings for it and put them on its four feet. Put two rings on one side of it and two rings on the other side.

You shall cast four gold rings for it and fasten them on its four feet, and two rings shall be on one side of it and two rings on the other side of it.

13 C ut long pieces of acacia wood for carrying and cover them with gold.

You shall make poles of acacia wood and overlay them with gold.

14 T hen put the pieces of wood through the rings on the sides of the box, for carrying the box.

You shall put the poles into the rings on the sides of the ark, to carry the ark with them.

15 T he long pieces will stay in the rings of the box. They must not be taken out.

The poles shall remain in the rings of the ark; they shall not be removed from it.

16 P ut into the special box the Law which I will give you.

You shall put into the ark the testimony which I shall give you.

17 T hen make a mercy-seat from pure gold, two and a half cubits long and one and a half cubits wide.

“You shall make a mercy seat of pure gold, two and a half cubits long and one and a half cubits wide.

18 M ake two cherubim out of beaten gold. Make them at the two ends of the mercy-seat.

You shall make two cherubim of gold, make them of hammered work at the two ends of the mercy seat.

19 M ake one cherub on one end and one cherub on the other end. Make the top of the mercy-seat, with the cherubim at each end, of one piece.

Make one cherub at one end and one cherub at the other end; you shall make the cherubim of one piece with the mercy seat at its two ends.

20 T he wings of the cherubim should spread up over the mercy-seat. Their faces should be toward each other, and toward the mercy-seat.

The cherubim shall have their wings spread upward, covering the mercy seat with their wings and facing one another; the faces of the cherubim are to be turned toward the mercy seat.

21 P ut the mercy-seat on top of the box. Put the Law which I will give you into the box.

You shall put the mercy seat on top of the ark, and in the ark you shall put the testimony which I will give to you.

22 I will meet with you there. Between the two cherubim which are upon the special box of the Law, I will speak to you about all the Laws I will give you for the people of Israel. The Table for the Holy Bread

There I will meet with you; and from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubim which are upon the ark of the testimony, I will speak to you about all that I will give you in commandment for the sons of Israel. The Table of Showbread

23 Make a table of acacia wood, two cubits long, one cubit wide, and one and a half cubits tall.

“ You shall make a table of acacia wood, two cubits long and one cubit wide and one and a half cubits high.

24 C over it with pure gold and make a gold piece around it.

You shall overlay it with pure gold and make a gold border around it.

25 M ake a piece around it as wide as a hand and put gold on the side of this piece all around.

You shall make for it a rim of a handbreadth around it; and you shall make a gold border for the rim around it.

26 M ake four rings of gold for it. Put them on the four corners that are on the table’s four legs.

You shall make four gold rings for it and put rings on the four corners which are on its four feet.

27 T he rings will be close to the sides, to hold the long pieces of wood used to carry the table.

The rings shall be close to the rim as holders for the poles to carry the table.

28 C ut the long, straight pieces of acacia wood and cover them with gold. The table will be carried with these.

You shall make the poles of acacia wood and overlay them with gold, so that with them the table may be carried.

29 M ake its plates, its pots and its jars, for pouring your gifts of drink. Make them of pure gold.

You shall make its dishes and its pans and its jars and its bowls with which to pour drink offerings; you shall make them of pure gold.

30 A nd set the holy bread on the table before Me all the time.

You shall set the bread of the Presence on the table before Me at all times. The Golden Lampstand

31 Then make a lamp-stand of pure gold. The lamp-stand and its base are to be made of beaten gold. Its cups, its buds, and its flowers will be of one piece with it.

“ Then you shall make a lampstand of pure gold. The lampstand and its base and its shaft are to be made of hammered work; its cups, its bulbs and its flowers shall be of one piece with it.

32 S ix branches will go out of its sides, three branches of the lamp-stand out of one side, and three branches out of its other side.

Six branches shall go out from its sides; three branches of the lampstand from its one side and three branches of the lampstand from its other side.

33 T hree cups will be made to look like almond flowers, each with bud and flower on one branch, and three on the next branch. This is to be done for all six branches going out of the lamp-stand.

Three cups shall be shaped like almond blossoms in the one branch, a bulb and a flower, and three cups shaped like almond blossoms in the other branch, a bulb and a flower—so for six branches going out from the lampstand;

34 F our cups made to look like almond flowers, with their buds and flowers, will be put on the lamp-stand’s base.

and in the lampstand four cups shaped like almond blossoms, its bulbs and its flowers.

35 M ake a bud under each of the six branches going out from the place where the lamp-stand is put.

A bulb shall be under the first pair of branches coming out of it, and a bulb under the second pair of branches coming out of it, and a bulb under the third pair of branches coming out of it, for the six branches coming out of the lampstand.

36 T heir buds and their branches will all be one piece with the lamp-stand of pure, beaten gold.

Their bulbs and their branches shall be of one piece with it; all of it shall be one piece of hammered work of pure gold.

37 T hen make the seven lamps and put them where they will give light to the space in front of it.

Then you shall make its lamps seven in number; and they shall mount its lamps so as to shed light on the space in front of it.

38 T he objects for putting out the light and their dishes will be of pure gold.

Its snuffers and their trays shall be of pure gold.

39 M ake it and all the objects for it out of a piece of gold about half the weight of a man.

It shall be made from a talent of pure gold, with all these utensils.

40 S ee that you make them by following the plan for them that was shown to you on the mountain.

See that you make them after the pattern for them, which was shown to you on the mountain.
