1 أ وَّلاً وَقَبلَ كُلِّ شَيءٍ، أحُثُّكُمْ عَلَى أنْ تُقَدِّمُوا للهِ أدعِيَةً وَصَلَواتٍ وَطِلْباتٍ مَعَ الشُّكرِ مِنْ أجلِ جَمِيعِ النّاسِ.

First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men,

2 و َاذكُرُوا عَلَى وَجهِ الخُصُوصِ الحُكّامَ وَأصحابَ السُّلطَةِ. صَلُّوا أنْ نَحيا حَياةَ هُدُوءٍ وَسَلامٍ، مَملوءَةً بِعِبادَةِ اللهِ وَإكرامِهِ.

for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity.

3 ف َهَذا صالِحٌ وَمُرضٍ للهِ مُخَلِّصِنا،

This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior,

4 ا لَّذي يُريدُ أنْ يَأْتِيَ جَمِيعُ النّاسِ إلَى الخَلاصِ، وَأنْ يَتَوَصَّلُوا إلَى مَعرِفَةِ الحَقِّ.

who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

5 ا للهُ واحِدٌ، وَالوَسِيطُ بَينَ اللهِ وَالنّاسِ واحِدٌ هُوَ الإنسانُ يَسُوعَ المَسِيحِ.

For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,

6 و َقَدْ بَذَلَ نَفسَهُ فِديَةً لِأجلِ خَطايا جَمِيعِ النّاسِ، مُقَدِّماً شَهادَةً عَنْ مَحَبَّةِ اللهِ فِي الوَقتِ المُناسِبِ.

who gave Himself as a ransom for all, the testimony given at the proper time.

7 و َقَدْ عُيِّنتُ مُبَشِّراً وَرَسُولاً مِنْ أجلِ نَشرِ هَذِهِ الشَّهادَةِ. كَلامِي هَذا صادِقٌ وَلا كَذِبَ فِيهِ. كَما عُيِّنتُ مُعَلِّماً لِلإيمانِ وَالحَقِّ لِغَيرِ اليَهُودِ. تعليماتٌ لِلرِّجالِ وَللنِّساء

For this I was appointed a preacher and an apostle ( I am telling the truth, I am not lying) as a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth.

8 ف َأنا أُرِيدُ أنْ يُصَلِّيَ الرِّجالُ فِي كُلِّ مَكانٍ، رافِعِينَ أيادِي طاهِرَةً للهِ، دُونَ غَضَبٍ أوْ جِدالٍ.

Therefore I want the men in every place to pray, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and dissension. Women Instructed

9 ك َذَلِكَ أُرِيدُ أنْ تَتَزَيَّنَ النِّساءُ بِثِيابٍ لائِقَةٍ، بِتَواضُعٍ وَضَبطِ نَفسٍ. وَلا يَنبَغِي أنْ يَنشَغِلْنَ بِتَصفِيفِ الشَّعرِ المُبالَغِ فِيهِ، وَالذَّهَبِ، أوِ الَّلآلِئِ أوِ المَلابِسِ الغالِيَةِ،

Likewise, I want women to adorn themselves with proper clothing, modestly and discreetly, not with braided hair and gold or pearls or costly garments,

10 ب َلْ يَنبَغِي أنْ يَتَزَيَّنَّ بِالأعمالِ الصّالِحَةِ، كَما يَلِيقُ بِنِساءٍ يُجاهِرْنَ بِمَهابَةِ اللهِ.

but rather by means of good works, as is proper for women making a claim to godliness.

11 ف عَلَى المَرأةِ أنْ تَتَعَلَّمَ بِهُدُوءٍ وَفِي خُضُوعٍ تامٍّ.

A woman must quietly receive instruction with entire submissiveness.

12 ل ا أسمَحُ لِلمَرأةِ بِأنْ تُعَلِّمَ الرَّجُلَ أوْ أنْ تَكُونَ صاحِبَةَ السُّلطَةِ، بَلْ يَنبَغي أنْ تَكُونَ هادِئَةً.

But I do not allow a woman to teach or exercise authority over a man, but to remain quiet.

13 أ قُولُ هَذا لِأنَّ آدَمَ شُكِّلَ أوَّلاً، وَشُكِّلَتْ حَوّاءُ بَعدَهُ.

For it was Adam who was first created, and then Eve.

14 و َلَمْ يَكُنْ آدَمُ هُوَ الَّذِي احتِيلَ عَلَيهِ، بَلِ المَرأةُ هِيَ الَّتِي احتِيلَ عَلَيها فَوَقَعَتْ فِي الخَطِيَّةِ.

And it was not Adam who was deceived, but the woman being deceived, fell into transgression.

15 ل َكِنَّ المَرأةَ سَتَخلُصُ بِوِلادَةِ الأطفالِ، وَذَلِكَ إنْ ثَبَتنَ فِي الإيمانِ وَالمَحَبَّةِ وَالقَداسَةِ مَعَ العَقلِ المُتَّزِنِ.

But women will be preserved through the bearing of children if they continue in faith and love and sanctity with self-restraint.
