1 M y son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:

Hijo mío, no te olvides de mi ley, Y tu corazón guarde mis mandamientos;

2 F or length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.

Porque largura de días y años de vida Y paz te aumentarán.

3 L et not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart:

Nunca se aparten de ti la misericordia y la verdad; Atalas a tu cuello, Escríbelas en la tabla de tu corazón;

4 S o shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.

Y hallarás gracia y buena opinión Ante los ojos de Dios y de los hombres.

5 T rust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

Fíate de Jehová de todo tu corazón, Y no te apoyes en tu propia prudencia.

6 I n all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Reconócelo en todos tus caminos, Y él enderezará tus veredas.

7 B e not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil.

No seas sabio en tu propia opinión; Teme a Jehová, y apártate del mal;

8 I t shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.

Porque será medicina a tu cuerpo, Y refrigerio para tus huesos.

9 H onour the Lord with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase:

Honra a Jehová con tus bienes, Y con las primicias de todos tus frutos;

10 S o shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.

Y serán llenos tus graneros con abundancia, Y tus lagares rebosarán de mosto.

11 M y son, despise not the chastening of the Lord; neither be weary of his correction:

No menosprecies, hijo mío, el castigo de Jehová, Ni te fatigues de su corrección;

12 F or whom the Lord loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.

Porque Jehová al que ama castiga, Como el padre al hijo a quien quiere.

13 H appy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding.

Bienaventurado el hombre que halla la sabiduría, Y que obtiene la inteligencia;

14 F or the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold.

Porque su ganancia es mejor que la ganancia de la plata, Y sus frutos más que el oro fino.

15 S he is more precious than rubies: and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her.

Más preciosa es que las piedras preciosas; Y todo lo que puedes desear, no se puede comparar a ella.

16 L ength of days is in her right hand; and in her left hand riches and honour.

Largura de días está en su mano derecha; En su izquierda, riquezas y honra.

17 H er ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace.

Sus caminos son caminos deleitosos, Y todas sus veredas paz.

18 S he is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: and happy is every one that retaineth her.

Ella es árbol de vida a los que de ella echan mano, Y bienaventurados son los que la retienen.

19 T he Lord by wisdom hath founded the earth; by understanding hath he established the heavens.

Jehová con sabiduría fundó la tierra; Afirmó los cielos con inteligencia.

20 B y his knowledge the depths are broken up, and the clouds drop down the dew.

Con su ciencia los abismos fueron divididos, Y destilan rocío los cielos.

21 M y son, let not them depart from thine eyes: keep sound wisdom and discretion:

Hijo mío, no se aparten estas cosas de tus ojos; Guarda la ley y el consejo,

22 S o shall they be life unto thy soul, and grace to thy neck.

Y serán vida a tu alma, Y gracia a tu cuello.

23 T hen shalt thou walk in thy way safely, and thy foot shall not stumble.

Entonces andarás por tu camino confiadamente, Y tu pie no tropezará.

24 W hen thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet.

Cuando te acuestes, no tendrás temor, Sino que te acostarás, y tu sueño será grato.

25 B e not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh.

No tendrás temor de pavor repentino, Ni de la ruina de los impíos cuando viniere,

26 F or the Lord shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken.

Porque Jehová será tu confianza, Y él preservará tu pie de quedar preso.

27 W ithhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it.

No te niegues a hacer el bien a quien es debido, Cuando tuvieres poder para hacerlo.

28 S ay not unto thy neighbour, Go, and come again, and to morrow I will give; when thou hast it by thee.

No digas a tu prójimo: Anda, y vuelve, Y mañana te daré, Cuando tienes contigo qué darle.

29 D evise not evil against thy neighbour, seeing he dwelleth securely by thee.

No intentes mal contra tu prójimo Que habita confiado junto a ti.

30 S trive not with a man without cause, if he have done thee no harm.

No tengas pleito con nadie sin razón, Si no te han hecho agravio.

31 E nvy thou not the oppressor, and choose none of his ways.

No envidies al hombre injusto, Ni escojas ninguno de sus caminos.

32 F or the froward is abomination to the Lord: but his secret is with the righteous.

Porque Jehová abomina al perverso; Mas su comunión íntima es con los justos.

33 T he curse of the Lord is in the house of the wicked: but he blesseth the habitation of the just.

La maldición de Jehová está en la casa del impío, Pero bendecirá la morada de los justos.

34 S urely he scorneth the scorners: but he giveth grace unto the lowly.

Ciertamente él escarnecerá a los escarnecedores, Y a los humildes dará gracia.

35 T he wise shall inherit glory: but shame shall be the promotion of fools.

Los sabios heredarán honra, Mas los necios llevarán ignominia.
