1 س َأتَغَنَّى عَلَى الدَّوامِ بِرَحمَتِكَ يا اللهُ. وَسَأُخبِرُ بِلِسانِي عَنْ أمانَتِكَ جِيلاً بَعدَ جِيلٍ!

I will sing of the loving-kindness of Jehovah for ever; with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness from generation to generation.

2 ك َما قُلْتُ: «رَحمَتُكَ هِيَ إلَى الأبَدِ، مِثلُ السَّماواتِ. وَإخلاصُكَ ثابِتٌ كَالسَّماواتِ.»

For I said, Loving-kindness shall be built up for ever; in the very heavens wilt thou establish thy faithfulness.

3 أ نتَ قُلْتَ: «قَطَعْتُ عَهداً مَعَ مُختارِي، حَلَفْتُ لِخادِمِي داوُدَ:

I have made a covenant with mine elect, I have sworn unto David my servant:

4 ‹ إلَى الأبَدِ سَأُبقِي نَسلَكَ، وَسَأُثَبِّتُ عَرشَكَ جِيلاً بَعدَ جِيلٍ.›» سِلاهْ

Thy seed will I establish for ever, and build up thy throne from generation to generation. Selah.

5 ا لسَّماواتُ سَتُسَبِّحُكَ عَلَى عَجائِبِكَ يا اللهُ! وَجَماعَةُ المُقَدَّسِينَ عَلَى أمانَتِكَ.

And the heavens shall celebrate thy wonders, O Jehovah, and thy faithfulness in the congregation of the saints.

6 م َنْ فِي السَّماءِ يُعادِلُ اللهَ ؟ أوْ مَنْ بَينَ الآلِهَةِ الأُخرَى يُقارَنُ بِاللهِ ؟

For who in the heaven can be compared to Jehovah? among the sons of the mighty shall be likened to Jehovah?

7 م َهابَةُ اللهِ هِيَ فِي اجتِماعِ المُقَدَّسِينَ، هُوَ أعظَمُ وَأرهَبُ مِنْ كُلِّ المُحِيطينَ بِهِ.

God is greatly to be feared in the council of the saints, and terrible for all that are round about him.

8 أ يُّها الإلَهُ القَدِيرُ، مَنْ مِثلُكَ جَبّارٌ يا اللهُ ؟ أمانَتُكَ كَثِيرَةٌ جِدّاً!

Jehovah, God of hosts, who is like unto thee, the strong Jah? And thy faithfulness is round about thee.

9 ت َحكُمُ البَحرَ القَوِيَّ، وَتُهَدِّئُ الأمواجَ العاتِيَةَ.

Thou rulest the pride of the sea: when its waves arise, thou stillest them.

10 أ نتَ سَحَقتَ رَهَبَ، بِذِراعِكَ القَوِيَّةِ بَعثَرتَ أعداءَكَ.

Thou hast crushed Rahab as one that is slain; thou hast scattered thine enemies with the arm of thy strength.

11 ا لسَّماواتُ وَالأرْضُ وَكُلُّ شَيءٍ عَلَيها لَكَ. أنتَ خَلَقتَها كُلَّها!

Thine are the heavens, the earth also is thine; the world and its fulness, thou hast founded them.

12 أ نتَ خَلَقتَ الشَّمالَ وَالجَنُوبَ! جَبَلُ تابُورَ وَجَبَلُ حَرمُونَ يُغَنِّيانِ فَرَحاً عِندَ ذْكرِ اسْمِكَ!

The north and the south, thou hast created them: Tabor and Hermon triumph in thy name.

13 ق َوِيَّةٌ هِيَ ذِراعُكَ! يَدُكَ مَلأى قُدرَةً! وَيَمِينُكَ مَرفُوعَةٌ بِالنَّصرِ!

Thine is the arm of might: strong is thy hand, high is thy right hand.

14 ع َرشُكَ عَلَى الصَّلاحِ وَالعَدلِ قائِمٌ! الإخلاصُ وَالأمانَةُ يَسِيرانِ أمامَكَ!

Righteousness and judgment are the foundation of thy throne; loving-kindness and truth go before thy face.

15 ه َنِيئاً يا اللهُ لِمَنْ يُمَيِّزُونَ بُوقَ دَعوَتِكَ إلَى الاجتِماعِ لِلعِبادَةِ، الَّذِينَ يَعِيشُونَ فِي نُورِ حُضُورِكَ!

Blessed is the people that know the shout of joy: they walk, O Jehovah, in the light of thy countenance.

16 ط َوالَ اليَومِ يَبتَهِجُونَ بِتَسبِيحِ اسْمِكَ. وَأعمالُكَ الصّالِحَةُ تَرفَعُهُمْ.

In thy name are they joyful all the day, and in thy righteousness are they exalted.

17 ف َأنتَ قُوَّتُهُمُ العَجِيبَةُ! وَحِينَما تَشاءُ يَتَمَجَّدُونَ!

For thou art the glory of their strength; and in thy favour our horn shall be exalted.

18 ل أنَّ حامِينا يَأتِي مِنْ عِندِ اللهِ ، مَلِكُنا هُوَ مِنْ عِندِ قُدُّوسِ إسرائِيلَ!

For Jehovah is our shield, and the Holy One of Israel, our king.

19 و َلِهَذا كَلَّمتَ أتباعَكَ الأُمَناءَ فِي رُؤيا وَقُلتَ: «أعْطَيْتُ عَوْناً وَقُوَّةً لِمُحارِبٍ. رَفَعْتُ شابّاً مِنْ بَينِ عامَّةِ النّاسِ!

Then thou spakest in vision of thy Holy One, and saidst, I have laid help upon a mighty one; I have exalted one chosen out of the people.

20 و َجَدتُ خادِمِي داوُدَ، وَمَسَحْتُهُ بِزَيتِيَ المُقَدَّسِ.

I have found David my servant; with my holy oil have I anointed him:

21 ي َدِي سَتَسنِدُهُ. وَذِراعِي سَتُشَدِّدُهُ!

With whom my hand shall be established; and mine arm shall strengthen him.

22 ل َنْ يَغلِبَهُ عَدُوٌّ، وَلَنْ يَقوَى عَلَيهِ شِرِّيرٌ.

No enemy shall exact upon him, nor the son of wickedness afflict him;

23 س َأسحَقُ خُصُومَهُ أمامَهُ. وَسَأهزِمُ مُبغِضِيهِ.

But I will beat down his adversaries before his face, and will smite them that hate him.

24 أ مانَتِي وَنِعمَتِي يُلازِمانِهِ، وَبِاسمِيَ سَيَرفَعُ رَأسَهُ مُنتَصِراً.

And my faithfulness and my loving-kindness shall be with him, and by my name shall his horn be exalted.

25 ع َلَى البَحرِ وَالأنهارِ سَأمُدُّ سَيطَرَتَهُ.

And I will set his hand in the sea, and his right hand in the rivers.

26 س َيَقُولُ لِي: ‹أنتَ أبِي وَإلَهِي، أنتَ الصَّخرَةُ الَّتِي تُخَلِّصُنِي.›

He shall call unto me, Thou art my father, my God, and the rock of my salvation;

27 و َسَأجعَلُهُ بِكْرِيَ، الأعلَى بَينَ مُلُوكِ الأرْضِ!

And as to me, I will make him firstborn, the highest of the kings of the earth.

28 إ لَى الأبَدِ سَأحفَظُ لَهُ مَحَبَّتِي وَعَهدِيَ الأمينَ مَعَهُ!

My loving-kindness will I keep for him for evermore, and my covenant shall stand fast with him;

29 إ لَى الأبَدِ سَأُثَبِّتُ نَسلَهُ، وَمُلْكُهُ سَيَدُومُ دَوامَ السَّماواتِ.

And I will establish his seed for ever, and his throne as the days of heaven.

30 ق َدْ يَترُكُ أبناؤُهُ شَرِيعَتِي. وَلا يُطِيعُونَ أحكامِي.

If his sons forsake my law, and walk not in mine ordinances;

31 و َقَدْ يَنتَهِكُونَ حُرمَةَ مَبادِئِي، وَلا يَحفَظُونَ أوامِرِي.

If they profane my statutes, and keep not my commandments:

32 ع ِندَئِذٍ سَأُحاسِبُهُمْ عَلَى جَرائِمِهِمْ وَأضرِبُهُمْ بِسَبَبِ ذُنُوبِهِمْ.

Then will I visit their transgression with the rod, and their iniquity with stripes.

33 ل َكِنِّي لَنْ أسحَبَ مَحَبَّتِي لَهُ، وَلَنْ أنقُضَ إخلاصِي لَهُ!

Nevertheless my loving-kindness will I not utterly take from him, nor belie my faithfulness;

34 ل َنْ أخرِقَ عَهدِي مَعَهُ، وَلَنْ أُغَيِّرَ ما تَكَلَّمْتُ بِهِ لَهُ!

My covenant will I not profane, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips.

35 أ حلِفُ بِقَداسَتِي إنِّي لا أكذِبُ عَلَى داوُدَ.

Once have I sworn by my holiness; I will not lie unto David:

36 إ لَى الأبَدِ سَيَدُومُ نَسلُهُ! وَعَرشُهُ سَيَدُومُ أمامِي دَوامَ الشَّمسِ!

His seed shall endure for ever, and his throne as the sun before me;

37 ك َالقَمَرِ سَيَدُومُونَ إلَى الأبَدِ! وَالشّاهِدُ الَّذِي فِي السَّماءِ جَدِيرٌ بِالثِّقَةِ!» سِلاهْ

It shall be established for ever as the moon, and the witness in the sky is firm. Selah.

38 ل َكِنَّكَ تَرَكتَ المَلِكَ الَّذِي مَسَحتَهُ، رَفَضْتَهُ وَعاقَبْتَهُ.

But thou hast rejected and cast off; thou hast been very wroth with thine anointed:

39 ر َفَضْتَ العَهدَ مَعَ خادِمِكَ. لَوَّثْتَ تاجَهُ مُلقِياً إيّاهُ عَلَى الأرْضِ.

Thou hast made void the covenant of thy servant; thou hast profaned his crown to the ground:

40 ه َدَمتَ سُورَ الحِمايَةِ حَولَ مَدِينَتِهِ. سَحَقتَ حِصنَهُ تُراباً.

Thou hast broken down all his hedges; thou hast brought his strongholds to ruin.

41 س َلَبَهُ عابِرُو السَّبِيلِ. وَاحتَقَرَهُ جِيرانَهُ.

All that pass by the way plunder him; he is become a reproach to his neighbours.

42 ع َلَّيْتَ يَمينَ خُصُومِهِ، وَفَرَّحتَ جَميعَ أعداءَهُ.

Thou hast exalted the right hand of his oppressors; thou hast made all his enemies to rejoice:

43 و َضَعَ الصَّخرَةُ سَيفَهُ فِي غِمدِهِ. وَعَوناً لَمْ يُقَدِّمْ فِي المَعرَكَةِ!

Yea, thou hast turned back the edge of his sword, and hast not made him stand in the battle.

44 أ َنهَيْتَ مَجدَهُ. أَزَحتَ عَرشَهُ مِنْ مَكانِهِ، وَألقَيْتَهُ إلَى الأرْضِ.

Thou hast made his brightness to cease, and cast his throne down to the ground;

45 ق َصَّرْتَ أيّامَ شَبابِهِ، وَبِالعارِ غَطَّيْتَهُ. سِلاهْ

The days of his youth hast thou shortened; thou hast covered him with shame. Selah.

46 ح َتَّى مَتَى يا اللهُ سَتُخْفِي نَفْسَكَ؟ أإلَى الأبَدِ سَيَتَّقِدُ كَالنّارِ غَضَبُكَ؟

How long, Jehovah, wilt thou hide thyself for ever? shall thy fury burn like fire?

47 ت َذكَّرْ أنَّنا جَمِيعاً فانُونَ، وَأنَّ كُلَّ البَشَرِ كَبُخارٍ.

Remember, as regards me, what life is. Wherefore hast thou created all the children of men to be vanity?

48 م ا مِنْ إنسانٍ يَحيا وَلا يَرَى المَوتَ أيضاً. ما مِنْ أحَدٍ يَقدِرُ أنْ يَحمِيَ نَفسَهُ مِنْ قُوَّةِ الهاوِيَةِ.

What man liveth, and shall not see death? Shall he deliver his soul from the power of Sheol? Selah.

49 أ ينَ يا رَبُّ رَحْمَتُكَ الَّتِي أظهَرتَها فِي البِدايَةِ، الَّتِي حَلَفْتَ بِها بِإخلاصٍ لِداوُدَ؟

Where, Lord, are thy former loving-kindnesses, thou swarest unto David in thy faithfulness?

50 ا ذْكُرْ يا رَبُّ العارَ الَّذِي يَحتَمِلُهُ خُدّامُكَ. أعِنِّي فَأُعَزِّي كُلَّ هَؤُلاءِ النّاسِ.

Remember, Lord, the reproach of thy servants—that I bear in my bosom all the mighty peoples—

51 ا ذْكُرْ إهاناتِ أعدائِكَ يا اللهُ ، الَّذِينَ أهانُوا المَلِكَ الَّذِي مَسَحتَهُ.

Wherewith thine enemies, O Jehovah, have reproached, wherewith they have reproached the footsteps of thine anointed.

52 ب ارِكُوا اللهَ إلَى الأبَدِ. آمِينَ ثُمَّ آمِينَ.

Blessed be Jehovah for evermore! Amen, and Amen.
