1 أ يُّها السّادَةُ، عامِلُوا عَبِيدَكُمْ بِالعَدلِ وَالإنصافِ. وَتَذَكَّرُوا أنَّ لَكُمْ أنتُمْ أيضاً سَيِّداً فِي السَّماءِ. تَوجِيهاتٌ

Masters, give to bondmen what is just and fair, knowing that ye also have a Master in heavens.

2 و َاظِبُوا عَلَى الصَّلاةِ بِيَقَظَةٍ وَشُكْرٍ.

Persevere in prayer, watching in it with thanksgiving;

3 و َصَلُّوا مِنْ أجلِنا نَحنُ أيضاً كَيْ يَفتَحَ اللهُ لَنا باباً لِلكَلامِ، لِكَيْ نُعلِنَ سِرَّ المَسِيحِ الَّذِي أنا سَجِينٌ بِسَبَبِ المُناداةِ بِهِ.

praying at the same time for us also, that God may open to us a door of the word to speak the mystery of Christ, on account of which also I am bound,

4 ف َصَلُّوا أنْ أتَمَكَّنَ مِنْ إعلانِ هَذا السِّرِّ بِوضوحٍ كَما يَنْبَغِي.

to the end that I may make it manifest as I ought to speak.

5 ا سلُكوا بِحِكمَةٍ مَعَ غَيرِ المُؤمِنِينَ، مُستَغِلِّيْنَ الوَقتَ.

Walk in wisdom towards those without, redeeming opportunities.

6 ك ُونُوا لَبِقِينَ فِي حَدِيثِكُمْ، حَتَّىْ يَجِدَهُ الآخَرونَ مُستَساغاً. فَبِهَذا تَعرِفُونَ كَيفَ تُجاوِبُونَ كُلَّ شَخصٍ. رِفاقِ بُولُس

your word always with grace, seasoned with salt, to know how ye ought to answer each one.

7 س َيَحكِي لَكُمْ تِيخِيكُسُ كُلَّ أخبارِي. إنَّهُ أخٌ مَحبُوبٌ، وَخادِمٌ أمينٌ، وَعَبدٌ مَعِي فِي خِدمَةِ الرَّبِّ.

Tychicus, the beloved brother and faithful minister and fellow-bondman in Lord, will make known to you all that concerns me;

8 و َها أنا أُرسِلُهُ إلَيكُمْ لِهَذا الغَرَضِ: أنْ تَعرِفُوا آخِرَ أخبارِي، وَأنْ يُشَجِّعَ قُلُوبَكُمْ.

whom I have sent to you for this very purpose, that he might know your state, and that he might encourage your hearts:

9 و َسَأُرسِلُ مَعَهُ أُنسِيْمُسَ، أخانا الأمينُ المَحبُوبُ، الَّذِي هُوَ واحِدٌ مِنكُمْ، وَسَيُخبِرانِكُمْ بِما يَجرِي هُنا.

with Onesimus, the faithful and beloved brother, who is of you. They shall make known to you everything here.

10 ي ُهدِيكُمُ التَّحِيَّةَ رَفِيقِي فِي السِّجنِ، أرَسْتَرْخُسُ، وَأيضاً مَرقُسُ ابنُ أُختِ بَرنابا. وَقَدْ سَبَقَ أنْ أعطَيتُكُمْ تَعلِيماتٍ فِي ما يَتَعَلَّقُ بِهِ. فَإذا وَصَلَ إلَيكُمْ، رَحِّبُوا بِهِ جَيِّداً.

Aristarchus my fellow-captive salutes you, and Mark, Barnabas's cousin, concerning whom ye have received orders, (if he come to you, receive him,)

11 ي ُسَلِّمُ عَلَيكُمْ يَشُوعُ الَّذِي يُدعَى أيضاً يُسْطُسَ، فَهَؤُلاءِ هُمُ الوَحِيدُونَ الَّذِينَ يَعمَلُونَ مَعِي فِي نَشرِ مَلَكُوتِ اللهِ مِنْ بَينِ المُؤمِنِينَ بِالمَسِيحِ مِنْ أصلٍ يَهُودِيٍّ. فَكانُوا مَصدَرَ عَزاءٍ عَظِيمٍ لِي.

and Jesus called Justus, who are of the circumcision. These only fellow-workers for the kingdom of God who have been a consolation to me.

12 ك َما يُسَلِّمُ عَلَيكُمْ أبَفراسُ الَّذي هُوَ واحِدٌ مِنكُمْ وَخادِمٌ لِلمَسِيحِ يَسُوعَ. وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي عَلَى الدَّوامِ بِحَرارَةٍ مِنْ أجلِكُمْ لِكَيْ يُنَمِّيكُمُ اللهُ وَيُؤَكِّدَ لَكُمْ مَشِيئَتَهُ.

Epaphras, who is of you, bondman of Christ Jesus, salutes you, always combating earnestly for you in prayers, to the end that ye may stand perfect and complete in all will of God.

13 و َأنا أشهَدُ أنَّهُ يَتعَبُ عَلَى الدَّوامِ مِنْ أجلِكُمْ، وَمِنْ أجلِ الَّذِينَ فِي لاوُدكِيَّةَ، وَالَّذِينَ فِي هِيرابُولِيسَ.

For I bear him witness that he labours much for you, and them in Laodicea, and them in Hierapolis.

14 ك َما يُسَلِّمُ عَلَيكُمْ لُوقا الطَّبِيبُ الحَبِيْبُ، وَدِيماسُ. خاتمة

Luke, the beloved physician, salutes you, and Demas.

15 ح َيُّوا الإخوَةَ السّاكِنِينَ فِي لاوُدكِيَّةَ، سَلِّمُوا عَلَى نِمفاسَ وَالكَنِيسَةَ الَّتِي تَجتَمِعُ فِي بَيتِه.

Salute the brethren in Laodicea, and Nymphas, and the assembly which in his house.

16 و َبَعدَ أنْ تُقرَأ هَذِهِ الرِّسالَةُ عَلَيكُمْ، فَلتُقرَأْ أيضاً عَلَى الكَنِيسَةِ المَوجُودَةِ فِي لاوُدكِيَّةِ. وَاقرَأُوا أنتُمْ أيضاً رِسالَتِي الَّتِي سَتَصِلُكُمْ مِنْ لاوُدكِيَّةَ.

And when the letter has been read among you, cause that it be read also in the assembly of Laodiceans, and that ye also read that from Laodicea.

17 و َقُولُوا لِأرخِبُّسَ: «احرِصْ عَلَى أنْ تُتَمِّمَ المَهَمَّةَ الَّتِي استَأْمَنَكَ الرَّبُّ عَلَيها.»

And say to Archippus, Take heed to the ministry which thou hast received in Lord, to the end that thou fulfil it.

18 و َفِي الخَتامِ، أكتُبُ لَكُمْ أنا بُولُسَ، هَذِهِ التَّحِيَّةَ بِخَطِّ يَدِي: تَذَكَّرُوا أنّنِي مَسجُونٌ. لِتَكُنْ مَعَكُمْ نِعمَةُ اللهِ.
