1 م ِنْ بُطرُسَ، رَسُولِ يَسُوعَ المَسِيحِ، إلَى شَعبِ اللهِ المُتَغَرِّبينَ فِي هَذا العالَمِ، وَالمُشَتَّتِينَ عَبْرَ مُقاطَعاتِ بُنطُسَ وَغَلاطِيَّةَ وَكَبْدُوكِيَّةَ وَأسِيّا وَبِيثِينِيَّةَ، المُختارينَ

Peter, apostle of Jesus Christ, to sojourners of dispersion of Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,

2 ح َسَبَ عِلْمِ اللهِ الآبِ المُسبَقِ، لِتَكُونُوا مُقَدَّسينَ فِي الرُّوحِ، وَلِكَي تُطِيعُوهُ وَتَتَطَهَّرُوا بِرَشِّ دَمِ يَسُوعَ المَسِيحِ. أُصَلِّي أنْ تَتَزايَدَ لَكُمْ نِعمَةُ اللهِ وَسَلامُهُ عَلَى الدَّوامِ. رَجاءٌ حَيّ

elect according to foreknowledge of God Father, by sanctification of Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of blood of Jesus Christ: Grace to you and peace be multiplied.

3 ت َبارَكَ إلَهُ رَبِّنا يَسُوعَ المَسِيحِ وَأبُوهُ. فَفِي رَحمَتِهِ العَظِيمَةِ وَلَدَنا ثانِيَةً، لِيَكُونَ لَنا رَجاءٌ حَيٌّ بِسَبَبِ قِيامَةِ يَسُوعَ المَسِيحِ مِنَ المَوتِ،

Blessed the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who, according to his great mercy, has begotten us again to a living hope through resurrection of Jesus Christ from among dead,

4 و َمِيراثٌ لا يَفنَى وَلا يَتَلَوَّثُ وَلا يَذبُلُ، مَحفُوظٌ فِي السَّماواتِ لَكُمْ

to an incorruptible and undefiled and unfading inheritance, reserved in heavens for you,

5 أ نتُمُ المَحمِيِّينَ بِقُوَّةِ اللهِ بِسَبَبِ إيمانِكُمْ، إلَى أنْ تَنالوا الخَلاصَ المُعَدَّ لَكُمْ، وَالَّذِي سَيُعلَنُ فِي نِهايَةِ الزَّمانِ.

who are kept guarded by power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in last time.

6 و َلِهَذا أنتُمْ تَفِيضُونَ فَرَحاً، مَعَ أنَّهُ مِنَ الضَّرُورِيِّ أنْ تُحزَنُوا الآنَ لِفَتْرَةٍ قَصِيرَةٍ بامتِحاناتٍ مُختَلِفَةٍ،

Wherein ye exult, for a little while at present, if needed, put to grief by various trials,

7 ت ُبَرهِنُ أصالَةَ إيمانَكُمْ. فَحَتَّى الذَّهَبُ الفانِي يُمتَحَنُ بِالنّارِ. وَإيمانُكُمْ أثمَنُ مِنْهُ كَثِيراً. لِهَذا يَنبَغي أنْ يُمتَحَنَ لِيَكونَ مُستَحِقّاً لِلمَدِيحِ وَالتَّمِجِيدِ وَالتَّكرِيمِ، عِندَما يُعلَنُ يَسُوعُ المَسِيحُ

that the proving of your faith, much more precious than of gold which perishes, though it be proved by fire, be found to praise and glory and honour in revelation of Jesus Christ:

8 ا لَّذي لا تَرَونَهُ، إلّا أنَّكُمْ تُحِبُّونَهُ. وَمَعَ أنَّكُمْ لا تَرَونَهُ الآنَ، إلّا أنَّكُمْ تُؤْمِنُونَ بِهِ، فَتَمتَلِئُونَ فَرَحاً مَجِيداً لا يُوصَفُ،

whom, having not seen, ye love; on whom not now looking, but believing, ye exult with joy unspeakable and filled with glory,

9 و َتَنالُونَ هَدَفَ إيمانِكُمُ الَّذِي هُوَ خَلاصُكُمْ.

receiving the end of your faith, salvation of souls.

10 ل َقَدْ تَحَدَّثَ الأنبِياءُ سابِقاً عَنْ هَذِهِ النِّعْمَةِ الَّتي هِيَ لَكُمُ الآنَ، وَفَتَّشُوا باهتِمامٍ عَنْ هَذا الخَلاصِ.

Concerning which salvation prophets, who have prophesied of the grace towards you, sought out and searched out;

11 ك انَتْ غايَتُهُمْ أنْ يَعرِفُوا الوَقْتَ وَالظُّرُوفَ الَّتِي كانَ يَدُلُّهُمْ عَلَيها رُوحُ المَسِيحِ الَّذي فيهِمْ، إذْ أعلَنَ لَهُمُ الرُّوحُ القُدُسُ مُسبَقاً آلامَ المَسِيحِ وَالأمجادَ الَّتِي سَتَلِيها.

searching what, or what manner of time, the Spirit of Christ which in them pointed out, testifying before of the sufferings which to Christ, and the glories after these.

12 و َقَدْ كَشَفَ لَهُمُ اللهُ أنَّهُمْ لَمْ يَكُونُوا يَخدِمُونَ أنفُسَهُمْ، بَلْ يَخدِمُونَكُمْ أنتُمْ عِندَما تَحَدَّثُوا عَنْ هَذِهِ الأُمُورِ الَّتِي أُعلِنَتْ لَكُمُ الآنَ، بِواسِطَةِ الَّذِينَ بَشَّرُوكُمْ بِقُوَّةِ الرُّوحِ القُدُسِ المُرسَلِ مِنَ السَّماءِ. وَهِيَ أُمُورٌ تَشتَهِي حَتَّى المَلائِكَةُ أنْ تَعرِفَها! كونوا مُقَدَّسين

To whom it was revealed, that not to themselves but to you they ministered those things, which have now been announced to you by those who have declared to you the glad tidings by Holy Spirit, sent from heaven, which angels desire to look into.

13 ف َكُونُوا مُتَيَقِّظِي الذِّهنِ وَمُنضَبِطِي النَّفْسِ. وَليَكُنْ رَجاؤكُمْ كُلُّهُ فِي نِعمَةِ اللهِ الَّتِي سَتُعطَى لَكُمْ عِندَما يُعلَنُ يَسُوعُ المَسِيحُ.

Wherefore, having girded up the loins of your mind, sober hope with perfect stedfastness in the grace brought to you at revelation of Jesus Christ;

14 و َكَأبناءٍ مُطِيعِينَ، كُفُّوا عَنْ تَشكِيلِ حَياتِكُمْ بِحَسَبِ رَغَباتِكُمُ الشَّرِّيرَةِ الماضِيَةِ، حينَما كُنتُمْ جُهَلاءَ.

as children of obedience, not conformed to former lusts in your ignorance;

15 ب َلْ كُونُوا مُقَدَّسِينَ فِي كُلِّ سُلوكٍ، كَما أنَّ اللهَ الَّذِي دَعاكُمْ هُوَ قُدُّوسٌ.

but as he who has called you is holy, be ye also holy in all conversation;

16 ف َإنَّهُ مَكتُوبٌ: «كُونُوا مُقَدَّسِينَ، لأنِّي أنا قُدُّوسٌ.»

because it is written, Be ye holy, for I am holy.

17 أ نتُمْ تَدعُونَ اللهَ أباً، وَهُوَ يَحكُمُ عَلَى كُلِّ إنْسانٍ عَلَى أساسِ عَمَلِهِ، وَدُونَ أيِّ تَحَيُّزٍ. فَعِيشُوا إذاً حَياتَكُمْ فِي تَقوَى أثناءَ إقامَتِكُمُ المُؤَقَّتَةِ عَلَى هَذِهِ الأرْضِ.

And if ye invoke as Father him who, without regard of persons, judges according to the work of each, pass your time of sojourn in fear,

18 ل َقَدْ دُفِعَ ثَمَنُ تَحريرَكُمْ مِنْ أُسلُوبِ حَياتِكُمُ العَقِيمِ الَّذِي وَرِثتُموهُ عَنْ آبائِكُمْ، لا بِمالٍ مَسبوكٍ مِنْ مَوادَّ فانيَةٍ كَالفِضَّةِ أوْ الذَّهَبِ،

knowing that ye have been redeemed, not by corruptible silver or gold, from your vain conversation handed down from fathers,

19 ب َلْ بِدَمِ المَسِيحِ الثَّمِينِ، دَمِ حَمَلٍ سَلِيمٍ خالٍ مِنَ العُيُوبِ.

but by precious blood, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot, of Christ,

20 و َقَدْ سَبَقَ أنِ اختارَ اللهُ المَسِيحَ قَبلَ خَلْقِ العالَمِ، لَكِنَّهُ أعلَنَهُ لِلعالَمِ فِي هَذِهِ الأيّامِ الأخِيرَةِ مِنْ أجلِكُمْ.

foreknown indeed before foundation of world, but who has been manifested at the end of times for your sakes,

21 و َفِي المَسيحِ، أنتُمْ تُؤمِنُونَ بِاللهِ الَّذِي أقامَهُ مِنَ المَوتِ وَمَجَّدَهُ، لِيَكونَ إيمانُكُمْ وَرَجاؤكُمْ فِي اللهِ.

who by him do believe on God, who has raised him from among dead and given him glory, that your faith and hope should be in God.

22 ل َقَدْ طَهَّرْتُمْ أنفُسَكُمْ بِإطاعَتِكُمْ لِلحَقِّ. فَأظهِرُوا مَحَبَّةً أخَوِيَّةً مُخلِصَةً، وَأحِبُّوا بَعْضُكُمْ بَعْضاً مَحَبَّةً شَدِيدَةً مِنْ قَلْبٍ طاهِرٍ.

Having purified your souls by obedience to the truth to unfeigned brotherly love, love one another out of a pure heart fervently;

23 ل َقَدْ وُلِدْتُمْ ثانِيَةً، لا مِنْ بِذْرَةٍ فانِيَةٍ، بَلْ مِنْ بِذْرَةٍ لا تَفنَى هِيَ كَلِمَةُ اللهِ الحَيَّةُ الخالِدَةُ.

being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by living and abiding word of God.

24 ف َكَما يَقُولُ الكِتابُ: «البَشَرُ جَمِيعاً كَالعُشْبِ، وَكُلُّ مَجدِهِمْ أشبَهُ بِزَهْرِ العُشبِ. العُشْبُ يَجِفُّ، وَالزَّهْرُ يَسقُطُ.

Because all flesh as grass, and all its glory as flower of grass. The grass has withered and flower has fallen;

25 أ مّا كَلِمَةُ اللهِ فَتَبقَى إلَى الأبَدِ.» هَذِهِ هِيَ كَلِمَةُ اللهِ الَّتِي بُشِّرْتُمْ بِها.

but the word of Lord abides for eternity. But this is the word which in the glad tidings preached to you.
