1 M asters, grant to your slaves justice and fairness, knowing that you too have a Master in heaven.

Masters, give to bondmen what is just and fair, knowing that ye also have a Master in heavens.

2 D evote yourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with an attitude of thanksgiving;

Persevere in prayer, watching in it with thanksgiving;

3 p raying at the same time for us as well, that God will open up to us a door for the word, so that we may speak forth the mystery of Christ, for which I have also been imprisoned;

praying at the same time for us also, that God may open to us a door of the word to speak the mystery of Christ, on account of which also I am bound,

4 t hat I may make it clear in the way I ought to speak.

to the end that I may make it manifest as I ought to speak.

5 C onduct yourselves with wisdom toward outsiders, making the most of the opportunity.

Walk in wisdom towards those without, redeeming opportunities.

6 L et your speech always be with grace, as though seasoned with salt, so that you will know how you should respond to each person.

your word always with grace, seasoned with salt, to know how ye ought to answer each one.

7 A s to all my affairs, Tychicus, our beloved brother and faithful servant and fellow bond-servant in the Lord, will bring you information.

Tychicus, the beloved brother and faithful minister and fellow-bondman in Lord, will make known to you all that concerns me;

8 F or I have sent him to you for this very purpose, that you may know about our circumstances and that he may encourage your hearts;

whom I have sent to you for this very purpose, that he might know your state, and that he might encourage your hearts:

9 a nd with him Onesimus, our faithful and beloved brother, who is one of your number. They will inform you about the whole situation here.

with Onesimus, the faithful and beloved brother, who is of you. They shall make known to you everything here.

10 A ristarchus, my fellow prisoner, sends you his greetings; and also Barnabas’s cousin Mark (about whom you received instructions; if he comes to you, welcome him);

Aristarchus my fellow-captive salutes you, and Mark, Barnabas's cousin, concerning whom ye have received orders, (if he come to you, receive him,)

11 a nd also Jesus who is called Justus; these are the only fellow workers for the kingdom of God who are from the circumcision, and they have proved to be an encouragement to me.

and Jesus called Justus, who are of the circumcision. These only fellow-workers for the kingdom of God who have been a consolation to me.

12 E paphras, who is one of your number, a bondslave of Jesus Christ, sends you his greetings, always laboring earnestly for you in his prayers, that you may stand perfect and fully assured in all the will of God.

Epaphras, who is of you, bondman of Christ Jesus, salutes you, always combating earnestly for you in prayers, to the end that ye may stand perfect and complete in all will of God.

13 F or I testify for him that he has a deep concern for you and for those who are in Laodicea and Hierapolis.

For I bear him witness that he labours much for you, and them in Laodicea, and them in Hierapolis.

14 L uke, the beloved physician, sends you his greetings, and also Demas.

Luke, the beloved physician, salutes you, and Demas.

15 G reet the brethren who are in Laodicea and also Nympha and the church that is in her house.

Salute the brethren in Laodicea, and Nymphas, and the assembly which in his house.

16 W hen this letter is read among you, have it also read in the church of the Laodiceans; and you, for your part read my letter that is coming from Laodicea.

And when the letter has been read among you, cause that it be read also in the assembly of Laodiceans, and that ye also read that from Laodicea.

17 S ay to Archippus, “Take heed to the ministry which you have received in the Lord, that you may fulfill it.”

And say to Archippus, Take heed to the ministry which thou hast received in Lord, to the end that thou fulfil it.

18 I , Paul, write this greeting with my own hand. Remember my imprisonment. Grace be with you.
