1 Corinthians 5 ~ 1 Corinthians 5

1 I t is actually reported that there is immorality among you, and immorality of such a kind as does not exist even among the Gentiles, that someone has his father’s wife.

It is universally reported fornication among you, and such fornication as not even among the nations, so that one should have his father's wife.

2 Y ou have become arrogant and have not mourned instead, so that the one who had done this deed would be removed from your midst.

And ye are puffed up, and ye have not rather mourned, in order that he that has done this deed might be taken away out of the midst of you.

3 F or I, on my part, though absent in body but present in spirit, have already judged him who has so committed this, as though I were present.

For I, absent in body but present in spirit, have already judged as present,

4 I n the name of our Lord Jesus, when you are assembled, and I with you in spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus,

in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ (ye and my spirit being gathered together, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ), him that has so wrought this:

5 I have decided to deliver such a one to Satan for the destruction of his flesh, so that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.

to deliver him, such, to Satan for destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.

6 Y our boasting is not good. Do you not know that a little leaven leavens the whole lump of dough ?

Your boasting not good. Do ye not know that a little leaven leavens the whole lump?

7 C lean out the old leaven so that you may be a new lump, just as you are in fact unleavened. For Christ our Passover also has been sacrificed.

Purge out the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, according as ye are unleavened. For also our passover, Christ, has been sacrificed;

8 T herefore let us celebrate the feast, not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

so that let us celebrate the feast, not with old leaven, nor with leaven of malice and wickedness, but with unleavened of sincerity and truth.

9 I wrote you in my letter not to associate with immoral people;

I have written to you in the epistle not to mix with fornicators;

10 I did not at all mean with the immoral people of this world, or with the covetous and swindlers, or with idolaters, for then you would have to go out of the world.

not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the avaricious and rapacious, or idolaters, since ye should go out of the world.

11 B ut actually, I wrote to you not to associate with any so-called brother if he is an immoral person, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or a swindler—not even to eat with such a one.

But now I have written to you, if any one called brother be fornicator, or avaricious, or idolater, or abusive, or a drunkard, or rapacious, not to mix with; with such a one not even to eat.

12 F or what have I to do with judging outsiders? Do you not judge those who are within the church ?

For what have I with judging those outside also? ye, do not ye judge them that are within?

13 B ut those who are outside, God judges. Remove the wicked man from among yourselves.

But those without God judges. Remove the wicked person from amongst yourselves.
