1 A scribe to the Lord, O sons of the mighty, Ascribe to the Lord glory and strength.

Give unto Jehovah, ye sons of the mighty ones, give unto Jehovah glory and strength;

2 A scribe to the Lord the glory due to His name; Worship the Lord in holy array.

Give unto Jehovah the glory of his name; worship Jehovah in holy splendour.

3 T he voice of the Lord is upon the waters; The God of glory thunders, The Lord is over many waters.

The voice of Jehovah is upon the waters: the God of glory thundereth,—Jehovah upon great waters.

4 T he voice of the Lord is powerful, The voice of the Lord is majestic.

The voice of Jehovah is powerful; the voice of Jehovah is full of majesty.

5 T he voice of the Lord breaks the cedars; Yes, the Lord breaks in pieces the cedars of Lebanon.

The voice of Jehovah breaketh cedars; yea, Jehovah breaketh the cedars of Lebanon:

6 H e makes Lebanon skip like a calf, And Sirion like a young wild ox.

And he maketh them to skip like a calf, Lebanon and Sirion like a young buffalo.

7 T he voice of the Lord hews out flames of fire.

The voice of Jehovah cleaveth out flames of fire.

8 T he voice of the Lord shakes the wilderness; The Lord shakes the wilderness of Kadesh.

The voice of Jehovah shaketh the wilderness; Jehovah shaketh the wilderness of Kadesh.

9 T he voice of the Lord makes the deer to calve And strips the forests bare; And in His temple everything says, “Glory!”

The voice of Jehovah maketh the hinds to calve, and layeth bare the forests; and in his temple doth every one say, Glory!

10 T he Lord sat as King at the flood; Yes, the Lord sits as King forever.

Jehovah sitteth upon the flood; yea, Jehovah sitteth as king for ever.

11 T he Lord will give strength to His people; The Lord will bless His people with peace.

Jehovah will give strength unto his people; Jehovah will bless his people with peace.
