1 S how me Your loving-kindness, O God, for man has walked on me. All day long the one who tries to keep me down fights with me.

To the Overseer. -- `On the Dumb Dove far off.' -- A secret treasure of David, in the Philistines' taking hold of him in Gath. Favour me, O God, for man swallowed me up, All the day fighting he oppresseth me,

2 A ll day long those who hate me have walked on me. For there are many who fight against me with pride.

Mine enemies have swallowed up all the day, For many fighting against me, O most High,

3 W hen I am afraid, I will trust in You.

The day I am afraid I am confident toward Thee.

4 I praise the Word of God. I have put my trust in God. I will not be afraid. What can only a man do to me?

In God I praise His word, in God I have trusted, I fear not what flesh doth to me.

5 A ll day long they change my words to say what I did not say. They are always thinking of ways to hurt me.

All the day they wrest my words, Concerning me all their thoughts for evil,

6 T hey go after me as in a fight. They hide themselves. They watch my steps, as they have waited to take my life.

They assemble, they hide, they watch my heels, When they have expected my soul.

7 B ecause they are bad, do not let them get away. Bring down the people in Your anger, O God.

By iniquity they escape, In anger the peoples put down, O God.

8 Y ou have seen how many places I have gone. Put my tears in Your bottle. Are they not in Your book?

My wandering Thou hast counted, Thou -- place Thou my tear in Thy bottle, Are they not in Thy book?

9 T hen those who hate me will turn back when I call. I know that God is for me.

Then turn back do mine enemies in the day I call. This I have known, that God for me.

10 I praise the Word of God. I praise the Word of the Lord.

In God I praise the word, In Jehovah I praise the word.

11 I n God I have put my trust. I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?

In God I trusted, I fear not what man doth to me,

12 I am under an agreement with You, O God. I will give You gifts of thanks.

On me, O God, Thy vows, I repay thank-offerings to Thee.

13 F or You have set my soul free from death. You have kept my feet from falling, so I may walk with God in the light of life.

For Thou hast delivered my soul from death, Dost Thou not my feet from falling? To walk habitually before God in the light of the living!
