1 A nd Joshua the son of Nun sent out of Shittim two men as spies secretly, saying, Go, view the land, and Jericho. And they went and came into the house of a harlot whose name was Rahab, and lay there.

当 下 ， 嫩 的 儿 子 约 书 亚 从 什 亭 暗 暗 打 发 两 个 人 作 探 子 ， 吩 咐 说 ： 你 们 去 窥 探 那 地 和 耶 利 哥 。 於 是 二 人 去 了 ， 来 到 一 个 妓 女 名 叫 喇 合 的 家 里 ， 就 在 那 里 躺 卧 。

2 A nd it was told the king of Jericho, saying, Behold, there came men in hither to-night of the children of Israel to search out the land.

有 人 告 诉 耶 利 哥 王 说 ： 今 夜 有 以 色 列 人 来 到 这 里 窥 探 此 地 。

3 A nd the king of Jericho sent unto Rahab, saying, Bring forth the men that are come to thee, that are entered into thy house; for they are come to search out all the land.

耶 利 哥 王 打 发 人 去 见 喇 合 说 ： 那 来 到 你 这 里 、 进 了 你 家 的 人 要 交 出 来 ， 因 为 他 们 来 窥 探 全 地 。

4 A nd the woman took the two men, and hid them; and she said, Yea, the men came unto me, but I knew not whence they were:

女 人 将 二 人 隐 藏 ， 就 回 答 说 ： 那 人 果 然 到 我 这 里 来 ； 他 们 是 那 里 来 的 我 却 不 知 道 。

5 a nd it came to pass about the time of the shutting of the gate, when it was dark, that the men went out; whither the men went I know not: pursue after them quickly; for ye will overtake them.

天 黑 、 要 关 城 门 的 时 候 ， 他 们 出 去 了 ， 往 那 里 去 我 却 不 知 道 。 你 们 快 快 的 去 追 赶 ， 就 必 追 上 。

6 B ut she had brought them up to the roof, and hid them with the stalks of flax, which she had laid in order upon the roof.

（ 先 是 女 人 领 二 人 上 了 房 顶 ， 将 他 们 藏 在 那 里 所 摆 的 麻 中 。 ）

7 A nd the men pursued after them the way to the Jordan unto the fords: and as soon as they that pursued after them were gone out, they shut the gate.

那 些 人 就 往 约 但 河 的 渡 口 追 赶 他 们 去 了 。 追 赶 他 们 的 人 一 出 去 ， 城 门 就 关 了 。

8 A nd before they were laid down, she came up unto them upon the roof;

二 人 还 没 有 躺 卧 ， 女 人 就 上 房 顶 ， 到 他 们 那 里 ，

9 a nd she said unto the men, I know that Jehovah hath given you the land, and that the fear of you is fallen upon us, and that all the inhabitants of the land melt away before you.

对 他 们 说 ： 我 知 道 耶 和 华 已 经 把 这 地 赐 给 你 们 ， 并 且 因 你 们 的 缘 故 我 们 都 惊 慌 了 。 这 地 的 一 切 居 民 在 你 们 面 前 心 都 消 化 了 ；

10 F or we have heard how Jehovah dried up the water of the Red Sea before you, when ye came out of Egypt; and what ye did unto the two kings of the Amorites, that were beyond the Jordan, unto Sihon and to Og, whom ye utterly destroyed.

因 为 我 们 听 见 你 们 出 埃 及 的 时 候 ， 耶 和 华 怎 样 在 你 们 前 面 使 红 海 的 水 乾 了 ， 并 且 你 们 怎 样 待 约 但 河 东 的 两 个 亚 摩 利 王 西 宏 和 噩 ， 将 他 们 尽 行 毁 灭 。

11 A nd as soon as we had heard it, our hearts did melt, neither did there remain any more spirit in any man, because of you: for Jehovah your God, he is God in heaven above, and on earth beneath.

我 们 一 听 见 这 些 事 ， 心 就 消 化 了 。 因 你 们 的 缘 故 ， 并 无 一 人 有 胆 气 。 耶 和 华 ─ 你 们 的 神 本 是 上 天 下 地 的 神 。

12 N ow therefore, I pray you, swear unto me by Jehovah, since I have dealt kindly with you, that ye also will deal kindly with my father's house, and give me a true token;

现 在 我 既 是 恩 待 你 们 ， 求 你 们 指 着 耶 和 华 向 我 起 誓 ， 也 要 恩 待 我 父 家 ， 并 给 我 一 个 实 在 的 证 据 ，

13 a nd that ye will save alive my father, and my mother, and my brethren, and my sisters, and all that they have, and will deliver our lives from death.

要 救 活 我 的 父 母 、 弟 兄 、 姊 妹 ， 和 一 切 属 他 们 的 ， 拯 救 我 们 性 命 不 死 。

14 A nd the men said unto her, Our life for yours, if ye utter not this our business; and it shall be, when Jehovah giveth us the land, that we will deal kindly and truly with thee.

二 人 对 他 说 ： 你 若 不 ? 漏 我 们 这 件 事 ， 我 们 情 愿 替 你 们 死 。 耶 和 华 将 这 地 赐 给 我 们 的 时 候 ， 我 们 必 以 慈 爱 诚 实 待 你 。

15 T hen she let them down by a cord through the window: for her house was upon the side of the wall, and she dwelt upon the wall.

於 是 女 人 用 绳 子 将 二 人 从 窗 户 里 缒 下 去 ； 因 他 的 房 子 是 在 城 墙 边 上 ， 他 也 住 在 城 墙 上 。

16 A nd she said unto them, Get you to the mountain, lest the pursuers light upon you; and hide yourselves there three days, until the pursuers be returned: and afterward may ye go your way.

他 对 他 们 说 ： 你 们 且 往 山 上 去 ， 恐 怕 追 赶 的 人 碰 见 你 们 ； 要 在 那 里 隐 藏 三 天 ， 等 追 赶 的 人 回 来 ， 然 後 才 可 以 走 你 们 的 路 。

17 A nd the men said unto her, We will be guiltless of this thine oath which thou hast made us to swear.

二 人 对 他 说 ： 你 要 这 样 行 。 不 然 ， 你 叫 我 们 所 起 的 誓 就 与 我 们 无 干 了 。

18 B ehold, when we come into the land, thou shalt bind this line of scarlet thread in the window which thou didst let us down by: and thou shalt gather unto thee into the house thy father, and thy mother, and thy brethren, and all thy father's household.

我 们 来 到 这 地 的 时 候 ， 你 要 把 这 条 朱 红 线 绳 系 在 缒 我 们 下 去 的 窗 户 上 ， 并 要 使 你 的 父 母 、 弟 兄 ， 和 你 父 的 全 家 都 聚 集 在 你 家 中 。

19 A nd it shall be, that whosoever shall go out of the doors of thy house into the street, his blood shall be upon his head, and we shall be guiltless: and whosoever shall be with thee in the house, his blood shall be on our head, if any hand be upon him.

凡 出 了 你 家 门 往 街 上 去 的 ， 他 的 罪 （ 原 文 是 血 ） 必 归 到 自 己 的 头 上 ， 与 我 们 无 干 了 。 凡 在 你 家 里 的 ， 若 有 人 下 手 害 他 ， 流 他 血 的 罪 就 归 到 我 们 的 头 上 。

20 B ut if thou utter this our business, then we shall be guiltless of thine oath which thou hast made us to swear.

你 若 ? 漏 我 们 这 件 事 ， 你 叫 我 们 所 起 的 誓 就 与 我 们 无 干 了 。

21 A nd she said, According unto your words, so be it. And she sent them away, and they departed: and she bound the scarlet line in the window.

女 人 说 ： 照 你 们 的 话 行 罢 ！ 於 是 打 发 他 们 去 了 ， 又 把 朱 红 线 绳 系 在 窗 户 上 。

22 A nd they went, and came unto the mountain, and abode there three days, until the pursuers were returned: and the pursuers sought them throughout all the way, but found them not.

二 人 到 山 上 ， 在 那 里 住 了 三 天 ， 等 着 追 赶 的 人 回 去 了 。 追 赶 的 人 一 路 找 他 们 ， 却 找 不 着 。

23 T hen the two men returned, and descended from the mountain, and passed over, and came to Joshua the son of Nun; and they told him all that had befallen them.

二 人 就 下 山 回 来 ， 过 了 河 ， 到 嫩 的 儿 子 约 书 亚 那 里 ， 向 他 述 说 所 遭 遇 的 一 切 事 ；

24 A nd they said unto Joshua, Truly Jehovah hath delivered into our hands all the land; and moreover all the inhabitants of the land do melt away before us.

又 对 约 书 亚 说 ： 耶 和 华 果 然 将 那 全 地 交 在 我 们 手 中 ； 那 地 的 一 切 居 民 在 我 们 面 前 心 都 消 化 了 。
