1 T he second name drawn was for the families of the people of Simeon. Their land was in the center of the land of the people of Judah.
¶ And the second lot came forth to Simeon, for the tribe of the sons of Simeon according to their families; and their inheritance was within the inheritance of the sons of Judah.
2 T hey had in their land the cities of Beersheba, Sheba, Moladah,
And they had in their inheritance Beersheba or Sheba, Moladah,
3 H azarshual, Balah, Ezem,
Hazarshual, Balah, Azem,
4 E ltolad, Bethul, Hormah,
Eltolad, Bethul, Hormah,
5 Z iklag, Beth-marcaboth, Hazar-susah,
Ziklag, Bethmarcaboth, Hazarsusah,
6 B eth-lebaoth, and Sharuhen, thirteen cities with the towns around them.
Bethlebaoth, and Sharuhen: thirteen cities and their villages;
7 T here were Ain, Rimmon, Ether, and Ashan, four cities with their towns.
Ain, Remmon, Ether, and Ashan: four cities and their villages,
8 A nd they had all the towns around these cities as far as Baalath-beer, also known as Ramah of the Negev. This was the land given to the families of the people of Simeon.
with all the villages that were round about these cities unto Baalathbeer, which is Ramath of the Negev. This is the inheritance of the tribe of the sons of Simeon according to their families.
9 T he land of the people of Simeon was taken from the land of the people of Judah. For the share of the people of Judah was too large for them. So the people of Simeon received a share of land in the center of Judah’s land.
Out of the portion of the sons of Judah was taken the inheritance of the sons of Simeon; for the part of the sons of Judah was too much for them; therefore, the sons of Simeon had their inheritance within the inheritance of Judah.
10 T he third name drawn was for the families of the people of Zebulun. The share of their land was as far as Sarid.
¶ The third lot came up for the sons of Zebulun according to their families, and the border of their inheritance was unto Sarid.
11 T he side of their land went from there west to Marealah, touched Dabbesheth, and on to the river by Jokneam.
And their border goes up towards the sea and to Maralah and reaches unto Dabbasheth and from there comes to the river that is before Jokneam,
12 I t turned east from Sarid toward the sunrise as far as the land of Chisloth-tabor, then on to Daberath and up to Japhia.
and turning from Sarid eastward toward the sunrising to the border of Chislothtabor and then goes out to Daberath and up to Japhia,
13 F rom there it went east toward the sunrise to Gath-hepher, Eth-kazin, and on to Rimmon, turning toward Neah.
and from there passes eastward toward the sunrising to Gittahhepher, to Ittahkazin, and goes out to Remmonmethoar around Neah;
14 T hen the side of their land turned north to Hannathon, and ended at the valley of Iphtahel.
and from here this border turns to the north to Hannathon, coming out in the valley of Jiphthahel
15 I n their land were Kattah, Nahalal, Shimron, Idalah, and Bethlehem. In all there were twelve cities with the towns around them.

16 T his is what was given to the families of the people of Zebulun, these cities with the towns around them.

17 T he fourth name drawn was for the families of the people of Issachar.
¶ And the fourth lot came out to Issachar, for the sons of Issachar according to their families.
18 T heir land spread to Jezreel. In it were Chesulloth, Shunem,

20 R abbith, Kishion, Ebez,

22 T heir land spread to Tabor, Shahazumah, Beth-shemesh, and ended at the Jordan, with sixteen cities and their towns.
and this border reaches to Tabor, and Shahazimah, and Bethshemesh; and their border comes out to the Jordan; sixteen cities with their villages.
23 T his is what was given to the families of the people of Issachar, the cities with the towns around them.
This is the inheritance of the tribe of the sons of Issachar according to their families, these cities with their villages.
24 T he fifth name drawn was for the families of the people of Asher.
¶ And the fifth lot came out for the tribe of the sons of Asher according to their families.
25 I n their land were Helkath, Hali, Beten, Achshaph,
And their border was Helkath, Hali, Beten, Achshaph,
26 A llammelech, Amad, and Mishal. It spread west to Carmel and Shihor-libnath.

27 I t turned east to Beth-dagon and to Zebulun along the valley of Iphtahel north to Bethemek and Neiel. Then it went on north to Cabul,
and turns toward the sunrising to Bethdagon and reaches to Zebulun and to the valley of Jiphthahel to the north, to Bethemek, and to Neiel, and goes out to Cabul on the left hand,
28 E bron, Rehob, Hammon, and Kanah, as far as the big city of Sidon.
and includes Abran, Rehob, Hammon, and Kanah, even unto great Zidon;
29 F rom there the side of their land turned toward Ramah and then to the strong city of Tyre, turned again to Hosah, and ended at the sea near Achzib,
and this border turns from there to Horma and to the strong city of Zor; and this border turns to Hosah and comes out to the sea from the stronghold of Achzib,
30 U mmah, Aphek and Rehob. There were twenty-two cities with the towns around them.

31 T his is what was given to the families of the people of Asher, these cities with the towns around them.
This is the inheritance of the tribe of the sons of Asher according to their families, these cities with their villages.
32 T he sixth name drawn was for the people of Naphtali, for the families of the people of Naphtali.
¶ The sixth lot came out to the sons of Naphtali, for the sons of Naphtali according to their families.
33 T heir land spread from Heleph, from the big tree in Zaanannim. It went through Adami-nekeb and Jabneel as far as Lakkum. And it ended at the Jordan.
And their border was from Heleph, Allon, Zaanannim, Adami, Nekeb, and Jabneel, unto Lakum, and comes out at the Jordan,
34 T he side of their land turned from there west to Aznoth-tabor, and went on to Hukkok. It spread to Zebulun in the south, Asher in the west, and to Judah at the Jordan in the east.
and turning westward this border goes to Aznothtabor and passes from there to Hukkok and reaches to Zebulun towards the Negev and reaches to Asher on the west side and to Judah upon the Jordan toward the sunrising.
35 T he strong cities were Ziddim, Zer, Hammath, Rakkath, Chinnereth,

40 T he seventh name drawn was for the families of the people of Dan.
¶ And the seventh lot came out for the tribe of the sons of Dan according to their families.
41 I n their land were Zorah, Eshtaol, Ir-shemesh,
And the border of their inheritance was Zorah, Eshtaol, Irshemesh,
42 S haalabbin, Aijalon, Ithlah,
Shaalabbin, Ajalon, Jethlah,
43 E lon, Timnah, Ekron,
Elon, Thimnathah, Ekron,
44 E ltekeh, Gibbethon, Baalath,
Eltekeh, Gibbethon, Baalath,
45 J ehud, Bene-berak, Gath-rimmon,
Jehud, Beneberak, Gathrimmon,
46 M e-jarkon and Rakkon, with the land near Joppa.

47 T he people of Dan needed more land. So they went up and fought with Leshem and took it with the sword. They took it for themselves and lived in it. And they gave it the name Leshem Dan after the name of Dan their father.
And the border of the sons of Dan went out too little for them; therefore, the sons of Dan went up to fight against Leshem and took it and smote it with the edge of the sword and possessed it and dwelt therein and called Leshem, Dan, after the name of Dan their father.
48 T his is what was given to the families of the people of Dan, these cities with their towns.
This is the inheritance of the tribe of the sons of Dan according to their families, these cities with their villages.
49 W hen they finished dividing the land and giving to each family group their share, then the people of Israel gave some land among them to Joshua the son of Nun.
¶ Thus they finished dividing the land in inheritance by their borders, and the sons of Israel gave an inheritance to Joshua the son of Nun in their midst.
50 A s the Lord had told them, they gave him the city he asked for. They gave him Timnath-serah in the hill country of Ephraim. So he built the city and lived in it.
According to the word of the LORD they gave him the city which he asked for, which was Timnathserah in mountain of Ephraim; and he rebuilt the city and dwelt therein.
51 T his is the land which was given by Eleazar the religious leader, Joshua the son of Nun, and the heads of the houses of the families of the people of Israel. It was given by drawing names in Shiloh before the Lord at the door of the meeting tent. So they finished dividing the land.
These are the inheritances, which Eleazar the priest and Joshua, the son of Nun, and the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the sons of Israel, divided for an inheritance by lot in Shiloh before the LORD, at the door of the tabernacle of the testimony. So they finished dividing the land.
