1 T hen the Lord said to Moses,

¶ And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying,

2 Say to the people of Israel, ‘A man or woman may make a special promise, the promise of a Nazirite, to set himself apart to the Lord.

Speak unto the sons of Israel and say unto them, When either man or woman shall separate themselves to vow a vow of a Nazarite, to dedicate themselves unto the LORD,

3 T hen he must keep away from wine and strong drink. He will drink no sour wine, made from wine or strong drink. He will not drink any grape drink. And he will not eat new or dried grapes.

they shall separate themselves from wine and strong drink and shall drink no vinegar of wine or vinegar of strong drink, neither shall they drink any liquor of grapes, nor eat moist grapes or dried.

4 A ll the days he is set apart, he must not eat anything made from the grape-field, not even the seeds or the skins.

All the days of their Nazariteship they shall eat nothing that is made of the wine vine, from the kernels even to the husk.

5 No hair of his head will be cut, all the days of his promise to be set apart. He must be holy until the time is finished for which he set himself apart to the Lord. He will let the hair on his head grow long.

All the days of the vow of their Nazariteship no razor shall come upon their head, until the days are fulfilled of their separation unto the LORD; they shall be holy and shall let the locks of the hair of their head grow.

6 All the days he is set apart to the Lord, he must not go near a dead person.

All the days that they separate themselves unto the LORD they shall come in unto no dead body.

7 H e must not allow himself to be made unclean when his father, mother, brother or sister die. For he has made a promise to be set apart to God.

They shall not make themselves unclean for their father or for their mother, for their brother or for their sister, when they die because the consecration of their God is upon their head.

8 H e is holy to the Lord all the days he is set apart.

All the days of their Nazariteship they are holy unto the LORD.

9 But if a man dies next to him, making his hair unclean which had been set apart to the Lord, then he must cut all the hair from his head on the day he is made clean. He will cut it off on the seventh day.

And if anyone dies very suddenly beside them, and they have defiled the head of their Nazariteship, then they shall shave their head in the day of their cleansing; on the seventh day shall they shave it.

10 O n the eighth day he must bring two turtle-doves or two young pigeons to the religious leader, to the door of the meeting tent.

And on the eighth day they shall bring two turtledoves or two young pigeons to the priest to the door of the tabernacle of the testimony,

11 T he religious leader will give one for a sin gift and the other for a burnt gift. He will pay for his sin because of the dead person. And he will make his head holy that same day.

and the priest shall offer the one as the sin and the other as a burnt offering and reconcile the one that sinned upon the dead and shall sanctify their head that same day.

12 H e will set apart to the Lord his days as a Nazirite. And he will bring a year old male lamb for a guilt gift. But the past days will be a loss, because he had become unclean during the time he was set apart.

And they shall consecrate unto the LORD the days of their Nazariteship and shall bring a lamb of the first year for their guilt; but the days that were before shall be lost because their Nazariteship was defiled.

13 This is the Law of the Nazirite when the time he is set apart is finished. He must bring the gift to the door of the meeting tent.

This is, therefore, the law of the Nazarite, in the day in which their Nazariteship is fulfilled: they shall be brought unto the door of the tabernacle of the testimony;

14 H e will give his gift to the Lord. It will be a perfect male lamb a year old for a burnt gift, one perfect female lamb a year old for a sin gift, and one perfect ram for a peace gift.

and they shall offer their offering unto the LORD, one he lamb of the first year without blemish for a burnt offering and one ewe lamb of the first year without blemish as the sin and one ram without blemish for peace offerings,

15 A nd he will give a basket of bread made of fine flour mixed with oil, made without yeast. He will give hard bread spread with oil and made without yeast. With them he will give their grain gift and drink gifts.

and a basket of unleavened bread, cakes of fine flour mingled with oil and wafers of unleavened bread anointed with oil and their present and their drink offerings.

16 T hen the religious leader will give all these to the Lord and his sin gift and his burnt gift.

And the priest shall bring them before the LORD and shall offer his sin and his burnt offering;

17 H e will also give the ram for peace gifts to the Lord, together with the basket of bread made without yeast. Then the religious leader will give its grain gift and drink gift.

and he shall offer the ram for a sacrifice of peace unto the LORD, with the basket of unleavened bread; the priest shall likewise offer his present and his drink offering.

18 T hen at the door of the meeting tent the Nazirite will cut off the hair that has been set apart for holy use. He is to take the hair and put it in the fire under the peace gifts.

Then the Nazarite shall shave the head of their Nazariteship at the door of the tabernacle of the testimony and shall take the hair of the head of their Nazariteship and put it upon the fire which is under the sacrifice of the peace.

19 T he religious leader will take the shoulder of the ram when it has been boiled and a loaf of bread and a piece of hard bread, both made without yeast and put them in the hands of the Nazirite. This is done after he has cut off the hair that has been set apart.

Then the priest shall take the boiled shoulder of the ram and one unleavened cake out of the basket and one unleavened wafer and shall put them upon the hands of the Nazarite after their Nazariteship is shaven;

20 T he religious leader will wave them for a wave gift before the Lord. They are holy and belong to the religious leader, together with the breast given as a wave gift and the thigh given by lifting it up. After that the Nazirite may drink wine.’

and the priest shall wave them for a wave offering before the LORD, which shall be a holy thing of the priest, with the wave breast and heave shoulder; and after that the Nazarite shall drink wine.

21 This is the Law of the Nazirite who makes a promise to give to the Lord what he promised as a Nazirite, and whatever else he is able to give. He must do what he has promised by the Law of being set apart as a Nazirite.” Religious Leaders Bring Good to the People

This is the law of the Nazarite who made a vow of their offering unto the LORD for their Nazariteship, beside that which their means allows, according to the vow which they vowed, so they must do according to the law of their Nazariteship.

22 T hen the Lord said to Moses,

¶ And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying,

23 Say to Aaron and his sons, ‘This is the way you should bring good to the people of Israel. Say to them,

Speak unto Aaron and unto his sons, saying, Thus shall ye bless the sons of Israel, saying unto them,

24 May the Lord bring good to you and keep you.

The LORD bless thee and keep thee;

25 M ay the Lord make His face shine upon you, and be kind to you.

the LORD make his face shine upon thee and have mercy on thee;

26 M ay the Lord show favor toward you, and give you peace.”’

the LORD lift up his face upon thee, and place peace in thee.

27 S o they will put My name upon the people of Israel, and I will bring good to them.”

And they shall place my name upon the sons of Israel, and I will bless them.
