1 T he Day of Rest was over. Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices. They wanted to put the spices on Jesus’ body.

¶ And when the sabbath of the great feast of the passover was past, Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of James, and Salome had bought sweet spices that they might come and anoint him.

2 V ery early in the morning on the first day of the week, they came to the grave. The sun had come up.

And very early in the morning the first of the sabbaths, they come unto the sepulchre at the rising of the sun.

3 T hey said to themselves, “Who will roll the stone away from the door of the grave for us?”

And they said among themselves, Who shall roll us away the stone from the door of the sepulchre?

4 B ut when they looked, they saw the very large stone had been rolled away.

And when they looked, they saw that the stone was rolled away, for it was very great.

5 T hey went into the grave. There they saw a young man with a long white coat sitting on the right side. They were afraid.

And entering into the sepulchre, they saw a young man sitting to the right hand side, covered in a long white garment; and they were frightened.

6 H e said, “Do not be afraid. You are looking for Jesus of Nazareth Who was nailed to a cross. He is risen! He is not here! See, here is the place where they laid Him.

But he said unto them, Do not be frightened; Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified; he is risen; he is not here; behold the place where they laid him.

7 G o and tell His followers and Peter that He is going ahead of you into Galilee. You will see Him there as He told you.”

But go tell his disciples and Peter that he goes before you into Galilee: there shall ye see him as he said unto you.

8 T hey ran from the grave shaking and were surprised. They did not say anything to anyone because they were afraid. The Followers of Jesus Do Not Believe He Was Raised from the Dead

And they went out quickly and fled from the sepulchre, for they trembled and were amazed; neither said they any thing to anyone, for they were afraid.

9 ( It was early on the first day of the week when Jesus was raised from the dead. Mary Magdalene saw Him first. He had put seven demons out of her.

¶ Now as Jesus rose early the first of the sabbaths, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven devils.

10 S he went and told His followers. They were crying because of much sorrow.

And she went and told those that had been with him, as they mourned and wept.

11 B ut they did not believe her when she said she had seen Him alive.

And they, when they had heard that he was alive and had been seen of her, did not believe.

12 A fter that He was seen again by two of His followers as they walked into the country. He did not look like He had looked before to these two people.

After that he appeared in another form unto two of them, as they walked and went into the country.

13 T hey went and told it to the others. The others did not believe them.

And they went and told it unto the others, yet they did not believe them.

14 L ater He was seen by the eleven followers as they were eating. He spoke to them with sharp words because they did not believe and their hearts were hard. And they did not believe the others who had seen Him since He had been raised from the dead. Jesus Sends His Followers to Preach

¶ Finally he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at the table and upbraided them for their unbelief and hardness of heart because they did not believe those who had seen him after he was risen.

15 H e said to them, “You are to go to all the world and preach the Good News to every person.

And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.

16 H e who puts his trust in Me and is baptized will be saved from the punishment of sin. But he who does not put his trust in Me is guilty and will be punished forever.

He that believes and is baptized shall be saved, but he that believes not shall be condemned.

17 T hese special powerful works will be done by those who have put their trust in Me. In My name they will put out demons. They will speak with languages they have never learned.

And these signs shall follow those that believe: In my name they shall cast out demons; they shall speak with new tongues;

18 T hey will pick up snakes. If they drink any poison, it will not hurt them. They will put their hands on the sick and they will be healed.”

they shall take away serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands upon the sick, and they shall be healed.

19 A fter Jesus had talked to them, He was taken up into heaven. He sat down on the right side of God.

¶ So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven and sat at the right hand of God.

20 T he followers went from there and preached everywhere. The Lord worked with them. The Lord showed that the Word of God was true by the special works they had power to do.)

And they, going forth, preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word with the signs which followed them. Amen.
