1 T he Lord said to Moses,
¶ And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying,
2 “ This is the law of the person with a bad skin disease when he is made clean. He will be brought to the religious leader.
This shall be the law of the leper in the day of his cleansing: He shall be brought unto the priest.
3 T he religious leader will go away from the tents and look at him. If the sick person has been healed of the bad skin disease,
And the priest shall go forth out of the camp; and the priest shall look and seeing that the plague of leprosy is healed in the leper,
4 t he religious leader must have two live clean birds, cedar wood, a red string and hyssop brought for the one who is to be made clean.
the priest shall command to take for the one that is to be purified two birds, alive and clean, and cedar wood and scarlet and hyssop;
5 T he religious leader will have one of the birds killed in a clay pot over flowing water.
and the priest shall command that one of the birds be killed in an earthen vessel upon living water;
6 T hen he will take the living bird with the cedar wood, the red string and the hyssop. He will put them and the live bird in the blood of the bird that was killed over the flowing water.
then he shall take the living bird and the cedar wood, and the scarlet and the hyssop and shall dip them and the living bird in the blood of the bird that was killed over the living water;
7 H e will put blood seven times on the one who is to be made clean from the bad skin disease. And he will say he is clean. Then he will let the live bird go free over the open field.
and he shall sprinkle upon the one that is to be purified from the leprosy seven times and shall pronounce him clean and shall let the living bird loose into the open field.
8 T he one to be made clean will wash his clothes, cut off all his hair, wash himself in water, and be clean. After that he may go among the tents. But he must stay outside his tent for seven days.
And he that is to be purified shall wash his clothes and shave off all his hair and wash himself with water, and he shall be clean; and after that he shall come into the camp and shall dwell outside of his tent seven days.
9 O n the seventh day he will cut off his hair. He will cut the hair from his head and face, all his hair. Then he will wash his clothes and wash himself in water, and be clean.
But it shall be that on the seventh day he shall shave all his hair off his head and his beard and his eyebrows; finally he shall shave off all his hair, and he shall wash his clothes; also he shall wash his flesh in water, and he shall be clean.
10 “ On the eighth day he is to take two male lambs that are perfect, a year old female lamb that is perfect, three-tenths part of a basket of fine flour mixed with oil for a grain gift, and one jar of oil.
¶ And on the eighth day he shall take two he lambs without blemish and one ewe lamb of the first year without blemish and three tenth deals of fine flour for a present, mingled with oil, and one log of oil.
11 T he religious leader who makes him clean will set the man who is to be made clean and these things before the Lord at the door of the meeting tent.
And the priest that purifies him shall present the one that is to be made clean with those things, before the LORD at the door of the tabernacle of the testimony;
12 T hen the religious leader will take the one male lamb and bring it for a guilt gift with the jar of oil. He will give them as a wave gift before the Lord.
and the priest shall take one he lamb and offer him for expiation of the guilt, with the log of oil, and wave them for a waved offering before the LORD.
13 H e will kill the lamb in the holy place where they kill the sin gifts and the burnt gifts. For the guilt gift belongs to the religious leader like the sin gift. It is most holy.
And he shall slay the lamb in the place where they kill the sin and the burnt offering, in the place of the sanctuary, for that offered as sin is the priest’s, together with that offered as guilt; it is most holy.
14 T hen the religious leader will take some of the blood of the guilt gift. He will put it on the bottom part of the right ear of the person to be made clean. And he will put it on the thumb of his right hand and on the big toe of his right foot.
And the priest shall take some of the blood of the expiation for the guilt, and the priest shall put it upon the tip of the right ear of the one that is to be purified and upon the thumb of his right hand and upon the great toe of his right foot.
15 T hen the religious leader will take some of the oil in the jar and pour it into his left hand.
Likewise the priest shall take some of the log of oil, and pour it into the palm of his own left hand;
16 T he religious leader will put a finger of his right hand into the oil that is in his left hand seven times before the Lord.
and the priest shall dip his right finger in the oil that is in his left hand and shall sprinkle of the oil with his finger seven times before the LORD.
17 T hen the religious leader will put some of the rest of the oil upon the blood of the guilt gift on the bottom part of the right ear, the thumb of the right hand and the big toe of the right foot of the person to be made clean.
And of that which is left of the oil that is in his hand shall the priest put upon the tip of the right ear of the one that is to be purified and upon the thumb of his right hand and upon the great toe of his right foot, upon the blood of the expiation for the guilt;
18 T he rest of the oil in the religious leader’s hand will be put on the head of the person to be made clean. So the religious leader will pay for the person’s sins before the Lord.
and that which is left of the oil that is in the priest’s hand, he shall pour upon the head of the one that is to be purified; and thus shall the priest reconcile him before the LORD.
19 T he religious leader will then give the sin gift to pay for the sins of the person to be made clean. After that he will kill the burnt gift.
And the priest shall offer the sin and reconcile the one that is to be purified from his uncleanness; and afterward he shall kill the burnt offering.
20 T he religious leader will give the burnt gift and the grain gift on the altar. So the religious leader will pay for the person’s sins, and he will be clean.
And the priest shall cause the burnt offering and the present to be lifted upon the altar, and thus shall the priest reconcile him, and he shall be clean.
21 “ But if he is poor and does not have enough money for so much, he will take one male lamb for a guilt gift, a wave gift, to pay for his sins. And he will take one-tenth part of a basket of fine flour mixed with oil for a grain gift, a jar of oil,
¶ But if he is poor, and cannot get so much; then he shall take one lamb for expiation of the guilt to be waved, to reconcile himself, and one tenth deal of fine flour mingled with oil for a present, and a log of oil;
22 a nd two turtle-doves or two young pigeons, whatever he is able to buy. One will be a sin gift and the other a burnt gift.
and two turtledoves, or two young pigeons, such as he is able to get; and the one shall be as the sin, and the other as a burnt offering.
23 O n the eighth day he will bring them to the religious leader at the door of the meeting tent before the Lord so he can be made clean.
And he shall bring these things on the eighth day of his purification unto the priest, unto the door of the tabernacle of the testimony, before the LORD.
24 T he religious leader will take the lamb of the guilt gift and the jar of oil. And the religious leader will wave them as the wave gift before the Lord.
And the priest shall take the lamb of the expiation of the guilt, and the log of oil, and the priest shall wave them for a waved offering before the LORD;
25 T hen he will kill the lamb of the guilt gift. The religious leader will take some of the blood of the guilt gift and put it on the bottom part of the right ear, the thumb of the right hand and the big toe of the right foot of the person to be made clean.
then he shall kill the lamb of the expiation of the guilt, and the priest shall take some of the blood of the expiation of the guilt and put it upon the tip of the right ear of the one that is to be purified and upon the thumb of his right hand and upon the great toe of his right foot.
26 T he religious leader will pour some of the oil into his left hand.
And the priest shall pour of the oil into the palm of his own left hand,
27 T he religious leader will put a finger of his right hand into the oil that is in the left hand seven times before the Lord.
and the priest shall sprinkle with his right finger some of the oil that is in his left hand seven times before the LORD.
28 T hen the religious leader will put some of the oil in his hand on the bottom part of the right ear, the thumb of the right hand and the big toe of the right foot of the person to be made clean. It will be put on the place where he has put the blood of the guilt gift.
The priest shall also put of the oil that is in his hand upon the tip of the right ear of the one that is to be purified and upon the thumb of his right hand and upon the great toe of his right foot in the place of the blood of the expiation for the guilt.
29 T he rest of the oil in the religious leader’s hand will be put on the head of the person to be made clean, to pay for his sins before the Lord.
And what is left of the oil that is in the priest’s hand he shall put upon the head of the one that is to be purified, to reconcile him before the LORD.
30 T hen he will give one of the turtle-doves or young pigeons that he was able to buy.
Likewise he shall offer one of the turtledoves or of the young pigeons, such as he can get,
31 H e will give what he is able to give, one for a sin gift and the other for a burnt gift, together with the grain gift. So the religious leader will pay for the sins of the person to be made clean before the Lord.
one of such as he is able to get as sin, and the other for a burnt offering, with the present; and thus shall the priest reconcile the one that is to be purified before the LORD.
32 T his is the law for him who had a bad skin disease and is not able to buy what is needed for making him clean.” Laws about the House Where the Person with a Bad Skin Disease Lived
This is the law of the one who has had the plague of leprosy, whose hand is not able to get that which is prescribed for his purification.
33 T he Lord said to Moses and Aaron,
¶ And the LORD spoke unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying,
34 “ When you come into the land of Canaan, which I give you for your own, and I put a mark of a bad skin disease on a house in your land,
When ye are entered into the land of Canaan, which I give to you in possession, and I put the plague of leprosy in a house of the land of your possession,
35 t hen the one who owns the house will come and tell the religious leader, ‘I see something like a mark of a bad skin disease in my house.’
the one that owns the house shall come and tell the priest, saying, Something like unto a plague has appeared in my house.
36 T hen the religious leader will tell them to empty the house before he goes in to look at the mark, so he will not say that everything in the house is unclean. After this the religious leader will go in to look at the house.
Then the priest shall command that they empty the house before the priest goes into it to see the plague so that all that is in the house is not contaminated; and afterward the priest shall go in to recognize the house.
37 H e will look at the mark of the disease. If the mark is in the walls of the house with green or red spots deep in the walls,
And he shall look on the plague, and if the plague is seen in the walls of the house with hollow streaks, greenish or reddish, which appear to be lower than the wall,
38 t he religious leader will go out the door and shut up the house for seven days.
the priest shall go out of the house to the door of the house and shut up the house seven days.
39 H e will come again on the seventh day and look. If the disease has spread in the walls of the house,
And the priest shall come again the seventh day and shall look; and if the plague has spread in the walls of the house,
40 t he religious leader will tell them to tear out the stones with the disease in them and throw them away outside the city at an unclean place.
then the priest shall command that they remove the stones in which the plague is, and they shall cast them outside the city into an unclean place;
41 H e will have the walls and floors of the house cleaned inside. And they will take the pieces that are rubbed off to an unclean place outside the city.
And he shall cause the house to be scraped within round about, and they shall pour out the dust that they scrape off outside the city into an unclean place;
42 T hen they will take other stones to put in the place of those stones. And he will cover the walls with a new covering.
and they shall take other stones and put them in the place of the stones that were removed; and he shall take other mortar and shall plaster the house.
43 “ If the disease comes again in the house, after he has taken out the stones, cleaned the house inside and covered the walls again,
And if the plague comes again and breaks out in the house after he has taken away the stones and after he has scraped the house and after it is plastered,
44 t hen the religious leader will come and look. If the disease has spread in the house, it is a very bad disease in the house. It is unclean.
then the priest shall come in and look; and if the plague appears to have spread in the house, it is a fretting leprosy in the house; it is unclean.
45 H e will tear down the house, its stones, wood, and all the covering of the house. And he will take the pieces outside the city to an unclean place.
Then he shall break down the house, its stones, and its timbers, and all the mortar of the house; and he shall carry them forth out of the city into an unclean place.
46 A nyone who goes into the house during the time it is shut up will be unclean until evening.
Moreover he that enters into the house all the while that it is shut up shall be unclean until the evening.
47 W hoever lies down in the house will wash his clothes. And whoever eats in the house will wash his clothes.
And he that sleeps in the house shall wash his clothes, and he that eats in the house shall wash his clothes.
48 “ But the religious leader may come in and find that the disease has not spread in the house after its walls have been covered again. Then the religious leader will say the house is clean, because the mark of the disease cannot be seen.
But if the priest shall come in and look upon it, and see that the plague has not spread in the house after the house was plastered, then the priest shall pronounce the house clean because the plague is healed.
49 H e will take two birds, cedar wood, a red string and hyssop to make the house clean.
Then to remove the sin from the house he shall take two birds and cedar wood and scarlet and hyssop,
50 H e will kill one of the birds in a clay pot over flowing water.
and he shall kill the one of the birds in an earthen vessel over living water,
51 T hen he will take the cedar wood and the hyssop and the red string, with the live bird, and put them in the blood of the killed bird and in the flowing water. And he will put some of the blood and water on the house seven times.
and he shall take the cedar wood and the hyssop and the scarlet and the living bird and dip them all in the blood of the slain bird and in the living water and sprinkle the house seven times.
52 H e will make the house clean with the blood of the bird, the flowing water, the live bird, the cedar wood, the hyssop and the red string.
And he shall remove the sin from the house with the blood of the bird and with the living water and with the living bird and with the cedar wood and with the hyssop and with the scarlet.
53 H e will let the live bird go free outside the city into the open field. So he will take away sin from the house, and it will be clean.”
Then he shall let go the living bird out of the city into the open fields; and thus shall he reconcile the house, and it shall be clean.
54 T his is the law for any very bad skin disease, even a sore,
¶ This is the law for all manner of plague of leprosy and scall
55 a nd for a disease in clothing or in a house,
and for the leprosy of a garment and of a house
56 a nd for a growing sore, and what is left of a sore, and for a bright spot.
and for a rising and for a scab and for a bright spot,
57 I t is to teach when they are unclean, and when they are clean. This is the law of the very bad skin disease.
to teach when it is unclean and when it is clean: this is the law of leprosy.
