1 T he Lord called to Moses and spoke to him from the meeting tent, saying,

¶ And the LORD called unto Moses, and spoke unto him out of the tabernacle of the testimony, saying,

2 Speak to the people of Israel. Tell them, ‘When any of you bring a gift in worship to the Lord, bring your gift of animals from the herd or the flock.

Speak unto the sons of Israel and say unto them, When any of you offers an offering unto the LORD of animals, of cattle, even of the cows, or of the sheep ye shall make your offering.

3 I f his gift is a burnt gift from the cattle, he should bring a male that is perfect. He should give it at the door of the meeting tent, so he will be pleasing to the Lord.

¶ If his offering is a burnt sacrifice of the herd, let him offer a male without blemish; he shall offer it of his own free will at the door of the tabernacle of the testimony before the LORD.

4 H e will lay his hand on the head of the burnt gift and it will be received to take away his sins.

And he shall put his hand upon the head of the burnt offering, and he shall accept it to reconcile him.

5 H e will kill the young bull before the Lord. Then Aaron’s sons, the religious leaders, will take the blood and put it around on the altar that is at the door of the meeting tent.

Then he shall kill the bullock before the LORD; and the priests, Aaron’s sons, shall offer the blood and sprinkle the blood round about upon the altar that is by the door of the tabernacle of the testimony.

6 H e will skin the burnt gift and cut it into pieces.

And he shall flay the burnt offering and cut it into its pieces.

7 T he sons of Aaron the religious leader will put fire on the altar and lay wood on the fire.

And the sons of Aaron, the priest, shall put fire upon the altar and lay the wood in order upon the fire.

8 T hen Aaron’s sons, the religious leaders, will lay the pieces, the head and the fat on the wood that is on the altar fire.

Then the priests, Aaron’s sons, shall lay the parts, the head and the fat, in order upon the wood that is on the fire which shall be upon the altar;

9 B ut he will wash its legs and inside parts with water. Then the religious leader will burn all of it on the altar as a burnt gift. It will be a gift by fire, a pleasing smell to the Lord.

but he shall wash its intestines and its legs in water, and the priest shall incense it all on the altar, to be a burnt sacrifice, an offering on fire, of a very acceptable aroma unto the LORD.

10 If his gift is a burnt gift from the sheep or the goats of the flock, he should give a male that is perfect.

¶ And if his offering is of the sheep, namely of the lambs or of the goats, for a burnt sacrifice, he shall offer a male without blemish.

11 H e should kill it on the north side of the altar before the Lord. Aaron’s sons, the religious leaders, will put its blood around on the altar.

And he must kill it on the side of the altar, to the Aquilon before the LORD; and the priests, Aaron’s sons, shall sprinkle its blood round about upon the altar.

12 T hen he will cut it into pieces with its head and its fat. And the religious leader will lay them on the wood that is on the altar fire.

And he shall cut it into its pieces, with its head and its fat; and the priest shall lay them in order on the wood that is on the fire which shall be upon the altar;

13 B ut he will wash the legs and inside parts with water. The religious leader will burn all of it on the altar as a burnt gift. It will be a gift by fire, a pleasing smell to the Lord.

and he shall wash the inwards and the legs with water; and the priest shall offer it all and incense it upon the altar; it is a burnt sacrifice, an offering on fire, of a very acceptable aroma unto the LORD.

14 If his gift is a burnt gift of birds, he should bring his gift from the turtle-doves or young pigeons.

And if the burnt sacrifice for his offering to the LORD is to be of fowls, then he shall bring his offering of turtledoves or of young pigeons.

15 T he religious leader will bring it to the altar and take off its head. Then he will burn it on the altar. Its blood will flow down on the side of the altar.

And the priest shall offer it upon the altar and wring off its head and incense it on the altar; and its blood shall be wrung out upon the side of the altar:

16 H e will take the part of its body where the food it eats is kept and with its feathers throw them on the ashes on the east side of the altar.

And he shall pluck away its crop and its feathers and cast them beside the altar on the east part, by the place of the ashes with the burnt fat.

17 T hen he will tear it by its wings, but not divide it. And the religious leader will burn it on the altar as a burnt gift. It will be a gift by fire, a pleasing smell to the Lord.

And he shall cleave it by its wings but shall not divide it in two; and the priest shall incense it upon the altar, upon the wood that is upon the fire; it is a burnt sacrifice, an offering on fire of a very acceptable aroma unto the LORD.
