1 And Moses gathered all the congregation of the sons of Israel together and said unto them, These are the words which the LORD has commanded that ye should do them.

Then Moses gathered together all the people of Israel, saying, “These are the things that the Lord has told you to do.

2 S ix days shall work be done, but the seventh day shall be holy unto you, a sabbath of rest to the LORD; whoever does work therein shall die.

Work may be done for six days. But the seventh day will be a holy day for you, a Day of Rest to the Lord. Whoever does any work on this day will be put to death.

3 Y e shall kindle no fire in any of your habitations upon the sabbath day.

Do not make a fire in any of your tents on the Day of Rest.” Gifts for the Meeting Tent

4 A nd Moses spoke unto all the congregation of the sons of Israel, saying, This is what the LORD commanded, saying,

Moses said to all the people of Israel, “This is what the Lord has told you to do.

5 T ake ye from among you an offering unto the LORD; whoever is of a willing heart, let him bring it, an offering of the LORD: gold, silver, brass;

Take from among you a gift to the Lord. Whoever has a willing heart, let him bring the Lord’s gift: gold, silver and brass,

6 b lue, purple, scarlet, fine linen, goats’ hair;

and blue, purple and red cloth, fine linen, cloth made from goat hair,

7 r ams’ skins dyed red, badgers’ skins, cedar wood;

rams’ skins made red, badgers’ skins and acacia wood,

8 o il for the light, spices for anointing oil and for the aromatic incense;

lamp oil, spices for the oil for holy use and for the sweet-smelling perfume,

9 o nyx stones, and stones to be set for the ephod, and for the pectoral.

10 A nd everyone that is wise hearted among you shall come and make all that the LORD has commanded:

“Let every able workman among you come and make all that the Lord has told us to make:

11 T he tabernacle, its tent, and its covering, its hooks, and its boards, its bars, its pillars, and its sockets;

the meeting tent, its tent and its covering, its hooks, its wood pieces, its cross-pieces, its pillars and their bases,

12 t he ark and its staves, the seat of reconciliation, and the veil of the tent,

the special box of the agreement and the long pieces of wood for carrying it, the mercy-seat, the curtain to hang in front of it,

13 t he table and its staves and all its vessels, and the showbread;

the table and the long pieces of wood for carrying it, all its objects, and the holy bread to set before the Lord.

14 t he lampstand also for the light and its vessels and its lamps, and the oil for the light;

Also the able workmen are to make: the lamp-stand for the light, and its lamps and oil for the light,

15 a nd the altar of incense and its staves, and the anointing oil, and the aromatic incense, and the hanging for the door at the entrance of the tabernacle,

the altar of special perfume and the long pieces of wood for carrying it, the oil for holy use, the sweet-smelling perfume, and the curtain for the door of the meeting tent.

16 t he altar of burnt offering with its brasen grate, its staves, and all its vessels, the laver and its base,

Also they are to make: the altar of burnt gifts with its brass net and long pieces of wood for carrying it, all its objects, the washing pot and its base,

17 t he hangings of the court, its pillars, and their sockets, and the hanging for the door of the court,

the curtains of the open space, its pillars and its bases, and the curtain for the gate of the open space.

18 t he stakes of the tabernacle and the stakes of the court, and their cords,

Also the able workmen are to make: the nails of the meeting tent and the nails of the open space and their ropes,

19 t he clothing of service to minister in the sanctuary, that is, the holy garments of Aaron the priest and the garments of his sons to serve in the priesthood.

the well-made clothing for working in the holy place, the holy clothing for Aaron the religious leader, and the clothing for his sons as they work as religious leaders.” People Bring Their Gifts

20 And all the congregation of the sons of Israel departed from the presence of Moses.

Then all the people of Israel went away from Moses.

21 A nd they came, every man whose heart stirred him up, and every one whose spirit made them willing, and they brought the LORD’s offering for the work of the tabernacle of the testimony and for all his service and for the holy garments.

And every one whose heart or spirit moved him brought the Lord’s gift to be used for the meeting tent, for all its work, and for the holy clothing.

22 A nd they came, both men and women, as many as were willing hearted, and brought chains and earrings, rings and bracelets, and all jewels of gold; and anyone that offered an offering of gold unto the LORD.

Then all the men and women who wanted to give brought objects of gold that had been worn on their clothing, ears, fingers and arms. Every man gave a gift of gold to the Lord.

23 E very man who had blue or purple or scarlet or fine linen or goats’ hair or red skins of rams or badgers’ skins brought them.

And every one who had blue, purple and red cloth, fine linen, cloth made from goats’ hair, rams’ skins made red, and badgers’ skins, brought them.

24 A nyone that offered an offering of silver or brass brought the offering unto the LORD; and every man, with whom was found cedar wood, brought it for all the work of the service.

Every one who could give a gift of silver or brass brought it as a gift to the Lord. Every one who had acacia wood to be used for the work, brought it.

25 A nd all the women that were wise hearted spun with their hands and brought that which they had spun: blue or purple or scarlet or fine linen.

All the able women made cloth with their hands. They brought the blue, purple and red cloth and fine linen they had made.

26 A nd all the women whose heart lifted them up in wisdom spun goats’ hair.

All the able women whose hearts moved them made cloth from goat hair.

27 A nd the princes brought onyx stones and the stones to be set for the ephod and for the pectoral;

The leaders brought the onyx stones and the stones to be set for the linen vest and the breast-piece,

28 a nd aromatic spice and oil for the light and for the anointing oil and for the aromatic incense.

and the spice and the oil for the light, and the oil for holy use, and for the sweet-smelling perfume.

29 O f the sons of Israel, men and women, all that had a willing heart to bring for all the work, which the Lord had commanded to be made by the hand of Moses, brought a voluntary offering unto the LORD.

The people of Israel who wanted to brought gifts to the Lord. Every man and woman, whose heart moved them, brought what the Lord had told them through Moses. Workmen Called by God

30 And Moses said unto the sons of Israel, See, the LORD has named Bezaleel, the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah;

Then Moses said to the people of Israel, “See, the Lord has called by name Bezalel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the family of Judah.

31 a nd he has filled him with the Spirit of God, in wisdom, in intelligence, in science, and in all manner of workmanship;

The Lord has filled him with the Spirit of God, in wisdom, understanding, much learning, and in all work.

32 t o invent and devise, to work in gold and in silver and in brass,

So he can make plans for working in gold, silver and brass,

33 a nd in the cutting of stones, to set them, and in carving of wood, to make any manner of cunning work.

and cut stones to be set, cut wood, and do good work of every kind.

34 A nd he has put in his heart that he may teach, both he, and Aholiab, the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan.

The Lord has given him the power to teach also, both he and Oholiab, the son of Ahisamach, of the family of Dan.

35 A nd he has filled them with wisdom of heart to work all manner of work of the engraver and of the cunning workman and of the embroiderer, in blue and in purple, in scarlet, and in fine linen, and of the weaver: that they may do any work, and invent every design.

He has made them able to do every work: writing words in stone, gold, silver and brass, planning, sewing beautiful work on blue, purple and red cloth and fine linen, making cloth, and all kinds of work done by able workmen.
