1 M oreover Jehovah answered Job, and said,

Moreover, the Lord said to Job,

2 S hall he that cavilleth contend with the Almighty? He that argueth with God, let him answer it.

Shall he who would find fault with the Almighty contend with Him? He who disputes with God, let him answer it.

3 T hen Job answered Jehovah, and said,

Then Job replied to the Lord:

4 B ehold, I am of small account; What shall I answer thee? I lay my hand upon my mouth.

5 O nce have I spoken, and I will not answer; Yea, twice, but I will proceed no further.

6 T hen Jehovah answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said,

7 G ird up thy loins now like a man: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me.

8 W ilt thou even annul my judgment? Wilt thou condemn me, that thou mayest be justified?

Will you also annul (set aside and render void) My judgment? Will you condemn Me, that you may righteous and justified?

9 O r hast thou an arm like God? And canst thou thunder with a voice like him?

Have you an arm like God? Or can you thunder with a voice like His?

10 D eck thyself now with excellency and dignity; And array thyself with honor and majesty.

16 L o now, his strength is in his loins, And his force is in the muscles of his belly.

17 H e moveth his tail like a cedar: The sinews of his thighs are knit together.
