1 T hese are the journeys of the children of Israel, who went out of the land of Egypt by their armies under the hand of Moses and Aaron.

These are the stages of the journeys of the Israelites by which they went out of the land of Egypt by their hosts under the leadership of Moses and Aaron.

2 N ow Moses wrote down the starting points of their journeys at the command of the Lord. And these are their journeys according to their starting points:

3 T hey departed from Rameses in the first month, on the fifteenth day of the first month; on the day after the Passover the children of Israel went out with boldness in the sight of all the Egyptians.

4 F or the Egyptians were burying all their firstborn, whom the Lord had killed among them. Also on their gods the Lord had executed judgments.

5 T hen the children of Israel moved from Rameses and camped at Succoth.

6 T hey departed from Succoth and camped at Etham, which is on the edge of the wilderness.

And they departed from Succoth and encamped in Etham, which is at the edge of the wilderness.

7 T hey moved from Etham and turned back to Pi Hahiroth, which is east of Baal Zephon; and they camped near Migdol.

They set out from Etham and turned back to Pi-hahiroth, east of Baal-zephon, and they encamped before Migdol.

8 T hey departed from before Hahiroth and passed through the midst of the sea into the wilderness, went three days’ journey in the Wilderness of Etham, and camped at Marah.

And they journeyed from before Pi-hahiroth and passed through the midst of the Sea into the wilderness; and they went a three days’ journey in the Wilderness of Etham and encamped at Marah.

9 T hey moved from Marah and came to Elim. At Elim were twelve springs of water and seventy palm trees; so they camped there.

14 T hey moved from Alush and camped at Rephidim, where there was no water for the people to drink.

And they departed from Rithmah and encamped at Rimmon-perez.

20 T hey departed from Rimmon Perez and camped at Libnah.

And they departed from Rimmon-perez and encamped at Libnah.

21 T hey moved from Libnah and camped at Rissah.

And they removed from Libnah and encamped at Rissah.

22 T hey journeyed from Rissah and camped at Kehelathah.

And they journeyed from Rissah and encamped at Kehelathah.

23 T hey went from Kehelathah and camped at Mount Shepher.

And they went from Kehelathah and encamped at Mount Shepher.

24 T hey moved from Mount Shepher and camped at Haradah.

And they removed from Mount Shepher and encamped at Haradah.

25 T hey moved from Haradah and camped at Makheloth.

And they set out from Haradah and encamped at Makheloth.

26 T hey moved from Makheloth and camped at Tahath.

And they removed from Makheloth and encamped at Tahath.

27 T hey departed from Tahath and camped at Terah.

And they departed from Tahath and encamped at Terah.

28 T hey moved from Terah and camped at Mithkah.

And they removed from Terah and encamped at Mithkah.

29 T hey went from Mithkah and camped at Hashmonah.

And they set out from Mithkah and encamped at Hashmonah.

30 T hey departed from Hashmonah and camped at Moseroth.

And they traveled on from Hashmonah and encamped at Moseroth.

31 T hey departed from Moseroth and camped at Bene Jaakan.

And they journeyed from Moseroth and pitched in Bene-jaakan.

32 T hey moved from Bene Jaakan and camped at Hor Hagidgad.

And they set out from Bene-jaakan and encamped at Hor-haggidgad.

33 T hey went from Hor Hagidgad and camped at Jotbathah.

And they set out from Hor-haggidgad and encamped at Jotbathah.

34 T hey moved from Jotbathah and camped at Abronah.

And they journeyed from Jotbathah and encamped at Abronah.

35 T hey departed from Abronah and camped at Ezion Geber.

And they traveled on from Abronah and encamped at Ezion-geber.

36 T hey moved from Ezion Geber and camped in the Wilderness of Zin, which is Kadesh.

And they removed from Ezion-geber and encamped in the Wilderness of Zin, which is Kadesh.

37 T hey moved from Kadesh and camped at Mount Hor, on the boundary of the land of Edom.

And they removed from Kadesh and encamped at Mount Hor, on the edge of Edom.

38 T hen Aaron the priest went up to Mount Hor at the command of the Lord, and died there in the fortieth year after the children of Israel had come out of the land of Egypt, on the first day of the fifth month.

40 N ow the king of Arad, the Canaanite, who dwelt in the South in the land of Canaan, heard of the coming of the children of Israel.

41 S o they departed from Mount Hor and camped at Zalmonah.

43 T hey departed from Punon and camped at Oboth.

And they set out from Punon and encamped at Oboth.

44 T hey departed from Oboth and camped at Ije Abarim, at the border of Moab.

And they traveled on from Oboth and encamped at Iye-abarim, on the border of Moab.

45 T hey departed from Ijim and camped at Dibon Gad.

And they departed from Iyim and encamped at Dibon-gad.

46 T hey moved from Dibon Gad and camped at Almon Diblathaim.

And they set out from Dibon-gad and encamped in Almon-diblathaim.

47 T hey moved from Almon Diblathaim and camped in the mountains of Abarim, before Nebo.

And they traveled on from Almon-diblathaim and encamped in the mountains of Abarim, before Nebo.

48 T hey departed from the mountains of Abarim and camped in the plains of Moab by the Jordan, across from Jericho.

50 N ow the Lord spoke to Moses in the plains of Moab by the Jordan, across from Jericho, saying,

And the Lord said to Moses in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho,

51 Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them: ‘When you have crossed the Jordan into the land of Canaan,

Tell the Israelites, When you have passed over the Jordan into the land of Canaan,

52 t hen you shall drive out all the inhabitants of the land from before you, destroy all their engraved stones, destroy all their molded images, and demolish all their high places;

Then you shall drive out all the inhabitants of the land before you and destroy all their figured stones and all their molten images and completely demolish all their high places,

53 y ou shall dispossess the inhabitants of the land and dwell in it, for I have given you the land to possess.

And you shall take possession of the land and dwell in it, for to you I have given the land to possess it.

54 A nd you shall divide the land by lot as an inheritance among your families; to the larger you shall give a larger inheritance, and to the smaller you shall give a smaller inheritance; there everyone’s inheritance shall be whatever falls to him by lot. You shall inherit according to the tribes of your fathers.

You shall inherit the land by lot according to your families; to the large tribe you shall give a larger inheritance, and to the small tribe you shall give a smaller inheritance. Wherever the lot falls to any man, that shall be his. According to the tribes of your fathers you shall inherit.

55 B ut if you do not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you, then it shall be that those whom you let remain shall be irritants in your eyes and thorns in your sides, and they shall harass you in the land where you dwell.

But if you will not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you, then those you let remain of them shall be as pricks in your eyes and as thorns in your sides, and they shall vex you in the land in which you dwell.

56 M oreover it shall be that I will do to you as I thought to do to them.’”

And as I thought to do to them, so will I do to you.
