1 N ow the angel who talked with me came back and wakened me, as a man who is wakened out of his sleep.

And the angel who talked with me came again and awakened me, like a man who is wakened out of his sleep.

2 A nd he said to me, “What do you see?” So I said, “I am looking, and there is a lampstand of solid gold with a bowl on top of it, and on the stand seven lamps with seven pipes to the seven lamps.

And said to me, What do you see? I said, I see, and behold, a lampstand all of gold, with its bowl on the top of it and its seven lamps on it, and seven pipes to each of the seven lamps which are upon the top of it.

3 T wo olive trees are by it, one at the right of the bowl and the other at its left.”

And there are two olive trees by it, one upon the right side of the bowl and the other upon the left side of it.

4 S o I answered and spoke to the angel who talked with me, saying, “What are these, my lord?”

So I asked the angel who talked with me, What are these, my lord?

5 T hen the angel who talked with me answered and said to me, “Do you not know what these are?” And I said, “No, my lord.”

Then the angel who talked with me answered me, Do you not know what these are? And I said, No, my lord.

6 S o he answered and said to me: “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ Says the Lord of hosts.

Then he said to me, This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit, says the Lord of hosts.

7 Who are you, O great mountain? Before Zerubbabel you shall become a plain! And he shall bring forth the capstone With shouts of “Grace, grace to it!”’”

For who are you, O great mountain ? Before Zerubbabel you shall become a plain '> molehill]! And he shall bring forth the finishing gable stone with loud shoutings of the people, crying, Grace, grace to it!

8 M oreover the word of the Lord came to me, saying:

Moreover, the word of the Lord came to me, saying,

9 The hands of Zerubbabel Have laid the foundation of this temple; His hands shall also finish it. Then you will know That the Lord of hosts has sent Me to you.

The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundations of this house; his hands shall also finish it. Then you shall know (recognize and understand) that the Lord of hosts has sent me to you.

10 F or who has despised the day of small things? For these seven rejoice to see The plumb line in the hand of Zerubbabel. They are the eyes of the Lord, Which scan to and fro throughout the whole earth.”

Who despises the day of small things? For these seven shall rejoice when they see the plummet in the hand of Zerubbabel. are the eyes of the Lord which run to and fro throughout the whole earth.

11 T hen I answered and said to him, “What are these two olive trees—at the right of the lampstand and at its left?”

Then I said to him, What are these two olive trees on the right side of the lampstand and on the left side of it?

12 A nd I further answered and said to him, “What are these two olive branches that drip into the receptacles of the two gold pipes from which the golden oil drains?”

And a second time I said to him, What are these two olive branches which are beside the two golden tubes or spouts by which the golden oil is emptied out?

13 T hen he answered me and said, “Do you not know what these are? ” And I said, “No, my lord.”

And he answered me, Do you not know what these are? And I said, No, my lord.

14 S o he said, “These are the two anointed ones, who stand beside the Lord of the whole earth.”

Then said he, These are the two sons of oil who stand before the Lord of the whole earth.
