1 I t came to pass on the eighth day that Moses called Aaron and his sons and the elders of Israel.

On the eighth day Moses called Aaron and his sons and the elders of Israel;

2 A nd he said to Aaron, “Take for yourself a young bull as a sin offering and a ram as a burnt offering, without blemish, and offer them before the Lord.

And he said to Aaron, Take a young calf for a sin offering and a ram for a burnt offering, without blemish, and offer them before the Lord.

3 A nd to the children of Israel you shall speak, saying, ‘Take a kid of the goats as a sin offering, and a calf and a lamb, both of the first year, without blemish, as a burnt offering,

And say to the Israelites, Take a male goat for a sin offering, and a calf and a lamb, both a year old, without blemish, for a burnt offering,

4 a lso a bull and a ram as peace offerings, to sacrifice before the Lord, and a grain offering mixed with oil; for today the Lord will appear to you.’”

Also a bull and a ram for peace offerings to sacrifice before the Lord, and a cereal offering mixed with oil, for today the Lord will appear to you.

5 S o they brought what Moses commanded before the tabernacle of meeting. And all the congregation drew near and stood before the Lord.

They brought before the Tent of Meeting what Moses commanded; all the congregation drew near and stood before the Lord.

6 T hen Moses said, “This is the thing which the Lord commanded you to do, and the glory of the Lord will appear to you.”

And Moses said, This is the thing which the Lord commanded you to do, and the glory of the Lord will appear to you.

7 A nd Moses said to Aaron, “Go to the altar, offer your sin offering and your burnt offering, and make atonement for yourself and for the people. Offer the offering of the people, and make atonement for them, as the Lord commanded.”

And Moses said to Aaron, Draw near to the altar and offer your sin offering and your burnt offering and make atonement for yourself and for the people; and offer the offering of the people and make atonement for them, as the Lord commanded.

8 A aron therefore went to the altar and killed the calf of the sin offering, which was for himself.

So Aaron drew near to the altar and killed the calf of the sin offering, which was designated for himself.

9 T hen the sons of Aaron brought the blood to him. And he dipped his finger in the blood, put it on the horns of the altar, and poured the blood at the base of the altar.

The sons of Aaron presented the blood to him; he dipped his finger in the blood and put it on the horns of the altar and poured out the blood at the altar’s base;

10 B ut the fat, the kidneys, and the fatty lobe from the liver of the sin offering he burned on the altar, as the Lord had commanded Moses.

But the fat, the kidneys, and the lobe of the liver from the sin offering he burned on the altar, as the Lord had commanded Moses.

11 T he flesh and the hide he burned with fire outside the camp.

And the flesh and the hide Aaron burned with fire outside the camp.

12 A nd he killed the burnt offering; and Aaron’s sons presented to him the blood, which he sprinkled all around on the altar.

He killed the burnt offering, and Aaron’s sons delivered to him the blood, which he dashed round about upon the altar.

13 T hen they presented the burnt offering to him, with its pieces and head, and he burned them on the altar.

And they brought the burnt offering to him piece by piece, and the head, and Aaron burned them upon the altar.

14 A nd he washed the entrails and the legs, and burned them with the burnt offering on the altar.

And he washed the entrails and the legs and burned them with the burnt offering on the altar.

15 T hen he brought the people’s offering, and took the goat, which was the sin offering for the people, and killed it and offered it for sin, like the first one.

Then Aaron presented the people’s offering, and took the goat of the sin offering which was for the people and killed it and offered it for sin as he did the first sin offering.

16 A nd he brought the burnt offering and offered it according to the prescribed manner.

And he presented the burnt offering and offered it according to the ordinance.

17 T hen he brought the grain offering, took a handful of it, and burned it on the altar, besides the burnt sacrifice of the morning.

And Aaron presented the cereal offering and took a handful of it and burned it on the altar in addition to the burnt offering of the morning.

18 H e also killed the bull and the ram as sacrifices of peace offerings, which were for the people. And Aaron’s sons presented to him the blood, which he sprinkled all around on the altar,

He also killed the bull and the ram, the sacrifice of peace offerings, for the people; and Aaron’s sons presented to him the blood, which he dashed upon the altar round about,

19 a nd the fat from the bull and the ram—the fatty tail, what covers the entrails and the kidneys, and the fatty lobe attached to the liver;

And the fat of the bull and of the ram, the fat tail and that which covers the entrails, and the kidneys, and the lobe of the liver.

20 a nd they put the fat on the breasts. Then he burned the fat on the altar;

And they put the fat upon the breasts, and Aaron burned the fat upon the altar;

21 b ut the breasts and the right thigh Aaron waved as a wave offering before the Lord, as Moses had commanded.

But the breasts and the right thigh Aaron waved for a wave offering before the Lord, as Moses commanded.

22 T hen Aaron lifted his hand toward the people, blessed them, and came down from offering the sin offering, the burnt offering, and peace offerings.

Then Aaron lifted his hands toward the people and blessed them, and came down after offering the sin offering, the burnt offering, and the peace offerings.

23 A nd Moses and Aaron went into the tabernacle of meeting, and came out and blessed the people. Then the glory of the Lord appeared to all the people,

Moses and Aaron went into the Tent of Meeting, and when they came out they blessed the people, and the glory of the Lord appeared to all the people.

24 a nd fire came out from before the Lord and consumed the burnt offering and the fat on the altar. When all the people saw it, they shouted and fell on their faces.

Then there came a fire out from before the Lord and consumed the burnt offering and the fat on the altar; and when all the people saw it, they shouted and fell on their faces.
