1 I will praise thee, O Lord, with my whole heart; I will shew forth all thy marvellous works.

2 I will be glad and rejoice in thee: I will sing praise to thy name, O thou most High.
I will rejoice in You and be in high spirits; I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High!
3 W hen mine enemies are turned back, they shall fall and perish at thy presence.
When my enemies turned back, they stumbled and perished before You.
4 F or thou hast maintained my right and my cause; thou satest in the throne judging right.
For You have maintained my right and my cause; You sat on the throne judging righteously.
5 T hou hast rebuked the heathen, thou hast destroyed the wicked, thou hast put out their name for ever and ever.
You have rebuked the nations, You have destroyed the wicked; You have blotted out their name forever and ever.
6 O thou enemy, destructions are come to a perpetual end: and thou hast destroyed cities; their memorial is perished with them.
The enemy have been cut off and have vanished in everlasting ruins, You have plucked up and overthrown their cities; the very memory of them has perished and vanished.
7 B ut the Lord shall endure for ever: he hath prepared his throne for judgment.
But the Lord shall remain and continue forever; He has prepared and established His throne for judgment.
8 A nd he shall judge the world in righteousness, he shall minister judgment to the people in uprightness.
And He will judge the world in righteousness (rightness and equity); He will minister justice to the peoples in uprightness.
9 T he Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble.
The Lord also will be a refuge and a high tower for the oppressed, a refuge and a stronghold in times of trouble (high cost, destitution, and desperation).
10 A nd they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, Lord, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.
And they who know Your name will lean on and confidently put their trust in You, for You, Lord, have not forsaken those who seek (inquire of and for) You.
11 S ing praises to the Lord, which dwelleth in Zion: declare among the people his doings.
Sing praises to the Lord, Who dwells in Zion! Declare among the peoples His doings!
12 W hen he maketh inquisition for blood, he remembereth them: he forgetteth not the cry of the humble.
For He Who avenges the blood remembers them; He does not forget the cry of the afflicted (the poor and the humble).
13 H ave mercy upon me, O Lord; consider my trouble which I suffer of them that hate me, thou that liftest me up from the gates of death:
Have mercy upon me and be gracious to me, O Lord; consider how I am afflicted by those who hate me, You Who lift me up from the gates of death,
14 T hat I may shew forth all thy praise in the gates of the daughter of Zion: I will rejoice in thy salvation.
That I may show forth (recount and tell aloud) all Your praises! In the gates of the Daughter of Zion I will rejoice in Your salvation and Your saving help.
15 T he heathen are sunk down in the pit that they made: in the net which they hid is their own foot taken.
The nations have sunk down in the pit that they made; in the net which they hid is their own foot caught.
16 T he Lord is known by the judgment which he executeth: the wicked is snared in the work of his own hands. Higgaion. Selah.
The Lord has made Himself known; He executes judgment; the wicked are snared in the work of their own hands. Higgaion. Selah!
17 T he wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.
The wicked shall be turned back into Sheol (the place of the departed spirits of the wicked), even all the nations that forget or are forgetful of God.
18 For the needy shall not always be forgotten: the expectation of the poor shall not perish for ever.
For the needy shall not always be forgotten, and the expectation and hope of the meek and the poor shall not perish forever.
19 A rise, O Lord; let not man prevail: let the heathen be judged in thy sight.
Arise, O Lord! Let not man prevail; let the nations be judged before You.
20 P ut them in fear, O Lord: that the nations may know themselves to be but men. Selah.
