1 A nd at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.

And at that time Michael shall arise, the great prince who defends and has charge of your people. And there shall be a time of trouble, straitness, and distress such as never was since there was a nation till that time. But at that time your people shall be delivered, everyone whose name shall be found written in the Book.

2 A nd many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake: some to everlasting life and some to shame and everlasting contempt and abhorrence.

3 A nd they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.

And the teachers and those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the firmament, and those who turn many to righteousness (to uprightness and right standing with God) like the stars forever and ever.

4 B ut thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.

But you, O Daniel, shut up the words and seal the Book until the time of the end. many shall run to and fro and search anxiously, and knowledge shall be increased and become great.

5 T hen I Daniel looked, and, behold, there stood other two, the one on this side of the bank of the river, and the other on that side of the bank of the river.

Then I, Daniel, looked, and behold, there stood two others, the one on the brink of the river on this side and the other on the brink of the river on that side.

6 A nd one said to the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, How long shall it be to the end of these wonders?

And one said to the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, How long shall it be to the end of these wonders?

7 A nd I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever that it shall be for a time, times, and an half; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished.

And I heard the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, when he held up his right and his left hand toward the heavens and swore by Him Who lives forever that it shall be for a time, times, and a half a time; and when they have made an end of shattering and crushing the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished.

8 A nd I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my Lord, what shall be the end of these things?

And I heard, but I did not understand. Then I said, O my lord, what shall be the issue and final end of these things?

9 A nd he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.

And he said, Go your way, Daniel, for the words are shut up and sealed till the time of the end.

10 M any shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.

Many shall purify themselves and make themselves white and be tried, smelted, and refined, but the wicked shall do wickedly. And none of the wicked shall understand, but the teachers and those who are wise shall understand.

11 A nd from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days.

And from the time that the continual burnt offering is taken away and the abomination that makes desolate is set up, there shall be 1, 290 days.

12 B lessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days.

Blessed, happy, fortunate, spiritually prosperous, and to be envied is he who waits expectantly and earnestly and comes to the 1, 335 days!

13 B ut go thou thy way till the end be: for thou shalt rest, and stand in thy lot at the end of the days.

But you, go your way until the end; for you shall rest and shall stand in your allotted place at the end of the days.
