1 T he king shall joy in thy strength, O Lord; and in thy salvation how greatly shall he rejoice!

2 T hou hast given him his heart's desire, and hast not withholden the request of his lips. Selah.
You have given him his heart’s desire and have not withheld the request of his lips. Selah!
3 F or thou preventest him with the blessings of goodness: thou settest a crown of pure gold on his head.
For You send blessings of good things to meet him; You set a crown of pure gold on his head.
4 H e asked life of thee, and thou gavest it him, even length of days for ever and ever.
He asked life of You, and You gave it to him—long life forever and evermore.
5 H is glory is great in thy salvation: honour and majesty hast thou laid upon him.
His glory is great because of Your aid; splendor and majesty You bestow upon him.
6 F or thou hast made him most blessed for ever: thou hast made him exceeding glad with thy countenance.
For You make him to be blessed and a blessing forever; You make him exceedingly glad with the joy of Your presence.
7 F or the king trusteth in the Lord, and through the mercy of the most High he shall not be moved.
For the king trusts, relies on, and is confident in the Lord, and through the mercy and steadfast love of the Most High he will never be moved.
8 T hine hand shall find out all thine enemies: thy right hand shall find out those that hate thee.
Your hand shall find all Your enemies; Your right hand shall find all those who hate You.
9 T hou shalt make them as a fiery oven in the time of thine anger: the Lord shall swallow them up in his wrath, and the fire shall devour them.
You will make them as if in a blazing oven in the time of Your anger; the Lord will swallow them up in His wrath, and the fire will utterly consume them.
10 T heir fruit shalt thou destroy from the earth, and their seed from among the children of men.
Their offspring You will destroy from the earth, and their sons from among the children of men.
11 F or they intended evil against thee: they imagined a mischievous device, which they are not able to perform.
For they planned evil against You; they conceived a mischievous plot which they are not able to perform.
12 T herefore shalt thou make them turn their back, when thou shalt make ready thine arrows upon thy strings against the face of them.
For You will make them turn their backs; You will aim Your bow at their faces.
13 B e thou exalted, Lord, in thine own strength: so will we sing and praise thy power.
Be exalted, Lord, in Your strength; we will sing and praise Your power.
