The Lord called to Moses out of the Tent of Meeting, and said to him,
2 S peak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, If any man of you bring an offering unto the Lord, ye shall bring your offering of the cattle, even of the herd, and of the flock.
Say to the Israelites, When any man of you brings an offering to the Lord, you shall bring your offering of animals from the herd or from the flock.
3 I f his offering be a burnt sacrifice of the herd, let him offer a male without blemish: he shall offer it of his own voluntary will at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation before the Lord.
If his offering is a burnt offering from the herd, he shall offer a male without blemish; he shall offer it at the door of the Tent of Meeting, that he may be accepted before the Lord.
4 A nd he shall put his hand upon the head of the burnt offering; and it shall be accepted for him to make atonement for him.
And he shall lay his hands upon the head of the burnt offering, and it shall be an acceptable atonement for him.
5 A nd he shall kill the bullock before the Lord: and the priests, Aaron's sons, shall bring the blood, and sprinkle the blood round about upon the altar that is by the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.
The man shall kill the young bull before the Lord, and the priests, Aaron’s sons, shall present the blood and dash round about upon the altar that is at the door of the Tent of Meeting.
6 A nd he shall flay the burnt offering, and cut it into his pieces.
And he shall skin the burnt offering and cut it into pieces.
7 A nd the sons of Aaron the priest shall put fire upon the altar, and lay the wood in order upon the fire:
And the sons of Aaron the priest shall put fire on the altar and lay wood in order on the fire;
8 A nd the priests, Aaron's sons, shall lay the parts, the head, and the fat, in order upon the wood that is on the fire which is upon the altar:
And Aaron’s sons the priests shall lay the pieces, the head and the fat, in order on the wood on the fire on the altar.
9 B ut his inwards and his legs shall he wash in water: and the priest shall burn all on the altar, to be a burnt sacrifice, an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the Lord.
But its entrails and its legs he shall wash with water. And the priest shall burn all of it on the altar for a burnt offering, an offering by fire, a sweet and satisfying odor to the Lord.
10 A nd if his offering be of the flocks, namely, of the sheep, or of the goats, for a burnt sacrifice; he shall bring it a male without blemish.
And if the man’s offering is of the flock, from the sheep or the goats, for a burnt offering, he shall offer a male without blemish.
11 A nd he shall kill it on the side of the altar northward before the Lord: and the priests, Aaron's sons, shall sprinkle his blood round about upon the altar.
And he shall kill it on the north side of the altar before the Lord, and Aaron’s sons the priests shall dash its blood round about against the altar.
12 A nd he shall cut it into his pieces, with his head and his fat: and the priest shall lay them in order on the wood that is on the fire which is upon the altar:
And shall cut it into pieces, with its head and its fat, and the priest shall lay them in order on the wood that is on the fire on the altar.
13 B ut he shall wash the inwards and the legs with water: and the priest shall bring it all, and burn it upon the altar: it is a burnt sacrifice, an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the Lord.
But he shall wash the entrails and legs with water. The priest shall offer all of it and burn it on the altar; it is a burnt offering, an offering made by fire, a sweet and satisfying fragrance to the Lord.
14 A nd if the burnt sacrifice for his offering to the Lord be of fowls, then he shall bring his offering of turtledoves, or of young pigeons.
And if the offering to the Lord is a burnt offering of birds, then shall bring turtledoves or young pigeons.
15 A nd the priest shall bring it unto the altar, and wring off his head, and burn it on the altar; and the blood thereof shall be wrung out at the side of the altar:
And the priest shall bring it to the altar, and wring off its head, and burn it on the altar; and its blood shall be drained out on the side of the altar.
16 A nd he shall pluck away his crop with his feathers, and cast it beside the altar on the east part, by the place of the ashes:
And he shall take away its crop with its feathers and cast it beside the altar on the east side, in the place for ashes.
17 A nd he shall cleave it with the wings thereof, but shall not divide it asunder: and the priest shall burn it upon the altar, upon the wood that is upon the fire: it is a burnt sacrifice, an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the Lord.
And he shall split it open by its wings, but shall not cut it in two. And the priest shall burn it on the altar, on the wood that is on the fire; it is a burnt offering, an offering made by fire, a sweet and satisfying odor to the Lord.
