1 ¶ Halelu-JAH. O give thanks unto the LORD, for he is good, for his mercy endures for ever.

Aleluya. Alabad a Jehová, porque él es bueno; Porque para siempre es su misericordia.

2 W ho can utter the mighty acts of the LORD? Who can show forth all his praise?

¿Quién expresará las poderosas obras de Jehová? ¿Quién contará sus alabanzas?

3 H appy are those that keep judgment and he that does righteousness at all times.

Dichosos los que guardan juicio, Los que hacen justicia en todo tiempo.

4 R emember me, O LORD, with the favour that thou dost bear unto thy people; O visit me with thy saving health,

Acuérdate de mí, oh Jehová, según tu benevolencia para con tu pueblo; Visítame con tu salvación,

5 t hat I may see the good of thy chosen, that I may rejoice in the gladness of thy nation, that I may glory with thine inheritance.

Para que yo vea el bien de tus escogidos, Para que me goce en la alegría de tu nación, Y me gloríe con tu heredad.

6 ¶ We have sinned with our fathers, we have committed iniquity; we have done wickedly.

Pecamos nosotros, como nuestros padres; Hicimos iniquidad, hicimos impiedad.

7 O ur fathers did not understand thy wonders in Egypt; they did not remember the multitude of thy mercies but rebelled by the sea, even at the Red sea.

Nuestros padres en Egipto no entendieron tus maravillas; No se acordaron de la muchedumbre de tus misericordias, Sino que se rebelaron junto al mar, el Mar Rojo.

8 N evertheless he saved them for his name’s sake, that he might make his mighty power to be known.

Pero él los salvó por amor de su nombre, Para hacer notorio su poder.

9 H e reprehended the Red sea also, and it was dried up, so he led them through the depths, as through the wilderness.

Reprendió al Mar Rojo y lo secó, Y les hizo ir por el abismo como por un desierto.

10 A nd he saved them from the hand of him that hated them and redeemed them from the hand of the enemy.

Los salvó de mano del enemigo, Y los rescató de mano del adversario.

11 A nd the waters covered their enemies: there was not one of them left.

Cubrieron las aguas a sus enemigos; No quedó ni uno de ellos.

12 T hen they believed his words; they sang his praise.

Entonces creyeron a sus palabras Y cantaron su alabanza.

13 ¶ They became rash. They soon forgot his works; they waited not for his counsel:

Bien pronto olvidaron sus obras; No esperaron su consejo.

14 T hey gave themselves over to lust in the wilderness and tempted God in the desert.

Se entregaron a un deseo desordenado en el desierto; Y tentaron a Dios en la soledad.

15 A nd he gave them their request, but sent leanness into their soul.

Y él les dio lo que pidieron; Mas envió mortandad sobre ellos.

16 T hen they envied Moses in the camp and Aaron the saint of the LORD.

Tuvieron envidia de Moisés en el campamento, Y contra Aarón, el santo de Jehová.

17 T he earth opened and swallowed up Dathan and covered the company of Abiram.

Entonces se abrió la tierra y tragó a Datán, Y cubrió la compañía de Abiram.

18 A nd a fire was kindled in their company; the flame burned up the wicked.

Y se encendió fuego en su junta; La llama quemó a los impíos.

19 T hey made a calf in Horeb and worshipped the molten image.

Hicieron becerro en Horeb, Se postraron ante una imagen de fundición.

20 T hus they changed their glory into the similitude of an ox that eats grass.

Así cambiaron su gloria Por la imagen de un buey que come hierba.

21 T hey forgot the God of their saving health, who had done great things in Egypt,

Olvidaron al Dios de su salvación, Que había hecho grandezas en Egipto,

22 w ondrous works in the land of Ham, and terrible things upon the Red sea.

Maravillas en la tierra de Cam, Cosas formidables sobre el Mar Rojo.

23 T herefore he said that he would destroy them, had not Moses his chosen stood before him in the breach, to turn away his wrath lest he should destroy them.

Y trató de destruirlos, De no haberse interpuesto Moisés su escogido delante de él, A fin de apartar su indignación para que no los destruyese.

24 A nd they despised the pleasant land; they did not believe his word:

Pero aborrecieron la tierra deseable; No creyeron a su palabra,

25 B ut murmured in their tents and did not hearken unto the voice of the LORD.

Antes murmuraron en sus tiendas, Y no oyeron la voz de Jehová.

26 T herefore he lifted up his hand against them, to overthrow them in the wilderness,

Por tanto, alzó su mano contra ellos Para abatirlos en el desierto,

27 t o overthrow their seed also among the Gentiles, and to scatter them in the lands.

Y humillar su pueblo entre las naciones, Y esparcirlos por las tierras.

28 T hey also joined themselves unto Baalpeor and ate the sacrifices for the dead.

Se unieron asimismo a Baal-peor, Y comieron los sacrificios de los muertos.

29 T hus they provoked him to anger with their inventions; and the plague broke in upon them.

Provocaron la ira de Dios con sus obras, Y se desarrolló la mortandad entre ellos.

30 T hen Phinehas stood up and executed judgment, and so the plague was stayed.

Entonces se levantó Finees e hizo juicio, Y se detuvo la plaga;

31 A nd that was counted unto him for righteousness from generation to generation for evermore.

Y le fue contado por justicia De generación en generación para siempre.

32 T hey angered him also at the waters of strife, so that it went ill with Moses for their sakes:

También le irritaron en las aguas de Meriba; Y le fue mal a Moisés por causa de ellos,

33 B ecause they provoked his spirit to rebel, and he spoke it with his lips.

Porque hicieron rebelar a su espíritu, Y habló precipitadamente con sus labios.

34 ¶ They did not destroy the nations, concerning whom the LORD commanded them:

No destruyeron a los pueblos Que Jehová les dijo;

35 B ut were mingled among the Gentiles and learned their works.

Antes se mezclaron con las naciones, Y aprendieron sus obras,

36 A nd they served their idols, which were a snare unto them.

Y sirvieron a sus ídolos, Los cuales fueron causa de su ruina.

37 Y ea, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters unto devils

Sacrificaron sus hijos y sus hijas a los demonios,

38 a nd shed innocent blood, even the blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed unto the idols of Canaan; and the land was polluted with blood.

Y derramaron la sangre inocente, la sangre de sus hijos y de sus hijas, Que ofrecieron en sacrificio a los ídolos de Canaán, Y la tierra fue contaminada con sangre.

39 T hus they were defiled with their own works and went a whoring with their own inventions.

Se contaminaron así con sus obras, Y se prostituyeron con sus hechos.

40 T herefore was the wrath of the LORD kindled against his people, insomuch that he abhorred his own inheritance.

Se encendió, por tanto, el furor de Jehová sobre su pueblo, Y abominó su heredad;

41 A nd he gave them into the hand of the Gentiles, and those that hated them ruled over them.

Los entregó en poder de las naciones, Y se enseñorearon de ellos los que les aborrecían.

42 T heir enemies oppressed them, and they were brought into subjection under their hand.

Sus enemigos los oprimieron, Y fueron quebrantados debajo de su mano.

43 H e delivered them many times, but they rebelled at his counsel and were brought low for their iniquity.

Muchas veces los libró; Mas ellos se rebelaron contra su consejo, Y fueron humillados por su maldad.

44 N evertheless he would look upon their affliction and hear their cry

Con todo, él miraba cuando estaban en angustia, Y oía su clamor;

45 a nd remember his covenant with them and repent according to the multitude of his mercies.

Y se acordaba de su pacto con ellos, Y se arrepentía conforme a la muchedumbre de sus misericordias.

46 H e also caused those that carried them captives to have mercy upon them.

Hizo asimismo que tuviesen de ellos misericordia todos los que los tenían cautivos.

47 S ave us, O LORD our God, and gather us from among the Gentiles, that we might lift up thy holy name, that we might glory in thy praise.

Sálvanos, Jehová Dios nuestro, Y recógenos de entre las naciones, Para que alabemos tu santo nombre, Para que nos gloriemos en tus alabanzas.

48 B lessed be the LORD God of Israel from everlasting to everlasting; and let all the people say, Amen. Halelu-JAH.

Bendito Jehová Dios de Israel, Desde la eternidad y hasta la eternidad; Y diga todo el pueblo, Amén. Aleluya. ms LIBRO V
