1 T he sons of Judah were Perez, Hezron, Carmi, Hur and Shobal.

2 R eaiah the son of Shobal became the father of Jahath, and Jahath became the father of Ahumai and Lahad. These were the families of the Zorathites.

3 T hese were the sons of Etam: Jezreel, Ishma and Idbash; and the name of their sister was Hazzelelponi.

11 C helub the brother of Shuhah became the father of Mehir, who was the father of Eshton.

15 T he sons of Caleb the son of Jephunneh were Iru, Elah and Naam; and the son of Elah was Kenaz.

Jephunneh’s son Caleb was the father of Iru, Elah and Naam. Elah’s son was Kenaz.

16 T he sons of Jehallelel were Ziph and Ziphah, Tiria and Asarel.

17 T he sons of Ezrah were Jether, Mered, Epher and Jalon. ( And these are the sons of Bithia the daughter of Pharaoh, whom Mered took) and she conceived and bore Miriam, Shammai and Ishbah the father of Eshtemoa.

38 t hese mentioned by name were leaders in their families; and their fathers’ houses increased greatly.

These were the names of the heads of their families. And many were added to their fathers’ houses.

39 T hey went to the entrance of Gedor, even to the east side of the valley, to seek pasture for their flocks.
