1 P raise ye the Lord. Praise, O ye servants of the Lord, praise the name of the Lord.

Praise the Lord! Praise Him, O you who serve the Lord. Praise the name of the Lord.

2 B lessed be the name of the Lord from this time forth and for evermore.

Let the name of the Lord be honored, now and forever.

3 F rom the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same the Lord 's name is to be praised.

The name of the Lord is to be praised from the time the sun rises to when it sets.

4 T he Lord is high above all nations, and his glory above the heavens.

The Lord is high above all nations. His shining-greatness is above the heavens.

5 W ho is like unto the Lord our God, who dwelleth on high,

Who is like the Lord our God? He sits on His throne on high.

6 W ho humbleth himself to behold the things that are in heaven, and in the earth!

He looks down upon the heavens and the earth.

7 H e raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth the needy out of the dunghill;

He raises the poor from the dust. He lifts those in need from the ashes.

8 T hat he may set him with princes, even with the princes of his people.

He makes them sit with rulers, with the rulers of His people.

9 H e maketh the barren woman to keep house, and to be a joyful mother of children. Praise ye the Lord.

He gives a home to the woman who could not give birth and makes her the mother of children. Praise the Lord!
